Drain the squash: This will remove excess moisture and prepare the squash for freezing. Put it in a zip-close freezer bag (I used pint-sized bags), and get out as much air as you can. Then stick it in the freezer for use any time of the year!
Peel the squash, and remove its seeds with a spoon. Slice the squash into manageable chunks (roughly 1-inch cubes). Lay out the diced squash on a baking sheet in a single layer, then place it in the freezer for about an hour, or until frozen.
Answer. Yellow squash or summer squash can be frozen but must be blanched prior to freezing to inactivate naturally occurring enzymes to prevent spoiling while frozen.
Pumpkins and squash can be preserved for later use by freezing, canning or drying. They should have a hard rind and stringless mature pulp. Small size pumpkins (sugar or pie varieties) make better products.
More good news: It does fine whether frozen raw or cooked. And the fact that yours has been cut into small chunks is no problem. You can freeze raw butternut squash pieces in the same way you would freeze berries: Place them on a baking sheet, spaced out so they don`t touch each other, and freeze until very firm.
Pack in measured amounts into containers, leaving 1/2-inch headspace. Cool by placing the containers in cold water. Seal and freeze. If watery when thawed, discard the liquid before using the zucchini.
Squash store best at an even 50°F in a dark place. This could be a cool and dark shelf, cabinet, or drawer in the kitchen, pantry, or closet. They also store well in a warmer section of the root cellar such as on the top shelf.
Properly packaged and frozen, squash should maintain high quality for approximately 10 months in the freezer.
We recommend preserving summer squash or zucchini by pickling or freezing. Summer squash is good for you. It is low in calories and many varieties provide vitamin C, potassium and, if the skin is eaten, beta carotene. Preserve summer squash by freezing, pickle them for canning or dry them.
squash requires a brief heat treatment, called blanching, in boiling water or steam, to destroy the enzymes before freezing. Cook (blanch) the squash for 3 minutes. Begin counting the blanching time as soon as you place the squash in the boiling water.
Peel the neck and the bulb part of the squash. Cut into 1 inch cubes (or the size you prefer.). Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and place in the freezer for 1 to 2 days. Scoop the frozen squash cubes into a freezer bag or vacuum bag.
Yes, you can certainly freeze it without cooking it. In fact, freezing uncooked butternut squash is the easiest way and doesn`t affect the safety. However, it`s best to blanch the squash before freezing it.
We`re sometimes asked, “Can I freeze a whole zucchini?” You certainly can, but it will be much more challenging to thaw and use later. (Imagine trying to shred a soggy whole thawed squash.) So instead, we recommend tackling the shape in advance so you can put the frozen zucchini to quick use when you`re ready.
To prepare squash for freezing, roast, boil or steam it until the flesh softens. Leave cooked squash in chunks or mash it. Place in airtight containers and freeze for up to 10 to 12 months.
Once the water returns to a boil, blanch squash for 3 minutes (4 minutes at elevations greater than 3,500 feet). After 3 minutes, remove the squash, using the basket or colander, and plunge pieces into cold water or ice water.
Place the cubes into a glass container (that has an air-tight lid). Pour about 1/4″ of cold water on the bottom of the dish. You just want a little bit of water as this will help keep the squash from drying out. Too much water and they will get soggy.
Vacuum-sealing will keep frozen squash fresh for a full year but even a basic plastic storage bag will keep your summer squash sweet and fresh for three months.
Winter squash requires a long growing season and proper care to get a good quality fruit that holds up well in storage. Depending on the variety, winter squash can last for 1–6 months if harvested, cured, and stored carefully.
About: Butternut squash have the longest storage potential and best flavor after a few months in storage. We grow more butternuts than anything, because they also prove to be the most versatile in the kitchen! The skin on butternuts is not considered edible, I also remove it before eating.
Pumpkins and winter squashes can then be stored in a well-ventilated position at a temperature under 15°C (60°F) and no colder than 10°C (50°F). Watch for signs of rot, and remove any affected fruit immediately.
Storing and Handling Guidelines

Store squash ideally between 41 to 50 °F with a relative humidity of 95%. Under these conditions, squash is acceptable for up to 2 weeks. Squash stored at refrigeration temperatures of 41 °F should have a shelf life of 4 days.

Vegged Up Stews and Breakfasts: You can cube and freeze dry yellow squash for use in chili, stews and egg scrambles or omelets. Yellow squash has such a mild taste that you won`t taste it. It`s a good way to sneak an extra serving of vegetables into your meals.
Freeze the squash cubed or sliced if you plan on preparing the zucchini or squash as a side vegetable, casserole, soup, or stews. You can also grate it and freeze it in 1- to 2-cup portions for zucchini bread, muffins, and cakes. Feel free to combine zucchini and summer squash when you freeze them.

Water build up in the starter & Reqoil case of my Polaris ATV
ANSWER : Your drain plugs should be visable, if they exist, on the lowest point of the body of the device. If you can’t readily see them, consider drying out the entire unit with a hair dryer and a little patience in drying the entire unit. From then on, I would consider evaluating the depth of water before entering. After all, the unit may not be amphibious, which sounds like your intended use!
Also, the battery may be affected by the extreme cold, as they often are, leaving a different approach to this problem. Good Luck!

I have a winchester 70 30-06 sprng. serial number is G2571946 I am looking to sell it and i would like to know what a fair price would be. would you be able to help me out with this?
ANSWER : Hi David, It’s har to pin down a specific price without knowing the actual year of the firearm. This rifle is post 64 so the value wont be as high as a pre-64. With that said and the information given and assuming that the gun is in fair to good condition you will be looking at roughly $450-$600 range. Accessories and modifications could raise or lower that approximation. I really hope that this points you in the right direction. I may be new to Fixya but i know my guns. Let me know if this helps.
