Our Pennine Pullman folding camper is lined with wood and this has become spongy. Do you know of a solution ?.

Many thanks
Cyndie

Experienced athletes share their insights in answering this question:
The best solution is to remove the spongy wood and replace with marine plywoodone possible fix is to glue(liquid nails) 4×8 vinyl sheets(used for bathroom walls and ceilings) over the spongy wood you should also determine where the support ribs are located and use rust proof exterior ( like deck screws) and put a washer through the screw and screw through the vinyl and sponge wood into the rib/stud to secure the vinyl do this about every 10 inches on the supportsfinally caulk the edges and seams and put a lattice type of slat(1inch wide by 3/8 thick by 8 ft long on all exposed seamstools needed small gig saw variable speed drillcaulking gunI

What causes condensation in motorhomes and travel trailers? In short, the answer is moisture and temperature. When the warm air in your cozy RV comes into contact with colder surfaces such as windows, metal window frames, or even walls, the moisture in that air is released and small water droplets are formed.
The best procedure is to set the camper up, and lightly spray it with a hose, until reasonably wet, allow it to dry a little, and then repeat, using a little more water each time. A normal canvas should self repair as it becomes saturated, and the leaks should disappear.
Plywood can be waterproofed with paint, polyurethane, or epoxy finish. Lightly sand the plywood with 180 grit sandpaper, clean off any sawdust, and apply the finish with a brush or by pouring the finish on if using epoxy.
Exterior plywood is weather (and water) resistant, so it`s strong enough to be used outside and also in areas that are exposed to water and humidity, like a garage. This type of plywood, often made from Douglas fir, is made stronger by adhering its layers with a waterproof glue.
There are two main reasons why RV roof leaks occur. The first has to do with the way roof seams and objects on the roof are sealed, and the second has to do with accidental damage.
You can use Nikwax on canvas. Nikwax is a well-known brand of waterproofing and cleaning products that are designed specifically for outdoor gear, including tents and other camping gear made from canvas.
Simply apply the tent proofing product or waterproofing spray evenly to the tent fabric using a spray, brush or sponge. Take care to wipe off any surplus product with a damp cloth as you go along. Leave your tent to dry as per the instructions on the bottle.
What causes condensation on windows and walls? Condensation happens when your home is too humid and the warm air hits cold surfaces. This leads to the air cooling quickly and forming droplets on nearby surfaces such as walls/windows.
The higher inside temperature along with colder outside temperatures may cause condensation to form on areas that are not insulated as well as others (windows, vents, wall studs, etc). Poor air circulation inside the RV may cause condensation to form inside closets and cabinets.
What Happens if Plywood Is Stored in Wet Conditions? Generally, if common plywood gets wet for an extended period of time, it can swell and lose shape which eventually leads to the layers of wood splitting apart. This often occurs when plywood is stored outside for even a short timeframe before a project begins.
Use a Drying Oil

Tung oil is one of the most popular oils for waterproofing wood that has been used for decades. Just wipe a thin coat of oil across the plywood and let it dry. You can apply as many coats as you want until the wood is saturated but be sure to let each coat dry completely before applying the next.

You must seal your plywood, especially if used in high moisture areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, or outdoor use. So, why should you waterproof plywood? Like other natural materials, untreated plywood is susceptible to rot caused by moisture and water, creating a breeding ground for fungus or mould within the board.
Epoxy is a fine choice. There are a number of high durability paints and finishes that will do the job. Think two component mostly, although there are waterborne urethanes now that might be an option. No matter what, choose the right plywood grade.
Sealant is the best way to protect wood trailer floors from damage. By adding a coating over the wood, you can prevent most types of damages. A sealant will prevent scratches, dents, and other abrasions while keeping moisture away from the wood through a protective barrier.

Need a Popeil Pocket fisherman manual
ANSWER : For the original pocket fisherman. I believe the design has not changed. Once you do it the first time it is actually quite easy. Two things to note. Read this whole thing first.1) the location of the bail spring (Keeps the metal bail cover up so line does not get stuck when casting.Note: This is important cause the metal bail cover must rise enough so that the line casts smoothly. (A complaint about this product. But when calibrated correctly it is quite good for what it is)2) The little **** that the crank gear plastic housing will fit into (Must be on top when you put the whole bail back in. The crank shaft lip fits into that ****.You’ll get it when you see it.Remove the panel screws (2) as you did. Pop out the crank shaft (copper). **** is in top when replacing. (remember that). Remove the bail. On the top of the bail there is a screw. ( becareful and remember how the little metal bail spring in situated here. Turn upside down with metal bail cover in your palm as it conects to the bail spring). Pull off metal bail cover. The plastic line holder actually comes apart and holds a lot more line than you think. Replace line. Feed the line back up the rod. Assemble the opposite.

Pop-up camper lights all turn on when tow-vehicle lights are on
ANSWER : FIRST, make sure white wire of camper is grounded to the frame of tow-vehicle. Temporarily use a jumper-cable frame-to-frame. Then apply 12volts individually to each of the three circuits to the camper. Assuming a 4-wire flat connector — brown wire is for marker lamps; yellow is left brake/turn; green is right brake/turn

We have a bad smell in our Rockwood 8284ss 5th wheel. It is hard to describe because it is not coming from the stool. There is not much odor when flushed and is not very strong in bathroom. It seems to be strongest in the storage compartment under the front of the camper and also then in the bedroom area there and at the front end of the slide out inside. The closest I can come to describing the smell is to say it smells like a bunch of dirty diapers in a pile or wet clothes that have been standing. Maybe a little on the urine smell also. This has been noticeable for about the last week. As far as I can tell there is nothing wet sitting in any of those areas and we have had no leaks in the camper that we know of.
ANSWER : Sounds like your holding tank is leaking.

Help! Just bought a Remington 30 06 for my grandson that has a Bushnell Sportview U4124 4-12power scope mounted on it. I would like to sight it in at 100 yards using a 180 grain shell but I don’t have the owners manual and I don’t understand an on line explanation that I found. This is the on line message: “You’ll see two horizontal crosshairs, put the top one on the animals back then zoom in until the bottom one is on his stomach. Look at the numbers on the zoom dial there should be three lines they are D – deer, E – elk and A – antelope. The numbers are the distance to the game, you then turn the external elevation knob or turret to the matching distance and shoot dead on. No need to hold over for bullet drop. The sad part will be if you didn’t get the other turrets that would have come with it as they are calibrated to different calibers and bullet weights”
I don’t understand how to set the elevation knob to 100yards when its lowest shown number is 150. If I need other turrets how or where can I get them? Thanks, a frustrated grandfather.
ANSWER : You can contact the Remington directly who will ship you a free users manual. Here is the company’s Contact Us details:

I have the Intex Sand/Pump pool filter Model SF 20110. It’s been running real great for the last 4 months. However recently it has been tripping the internal overloads and I have found the pump motor to be very hot when I put my hand against it. I have tried several different solutions, such as a level ground platform that was clear of any obstructions, made sure that the motor vents under the motor was clear of anything that would prevent air flow. I used a non electrical type of lubricate on the impeller. When I would turn on the pump the rotor would not turn but only would hum very loudly and then slowly begin to turn. I also noticed that the motor’s rotor shaft would not turn to freely due the tightness around the rotor’s shaft. After using the lubricate the shaft would turn a little easier. I used an amp meter on the incoming voltage line and the motor would run at 4.5 amp. And yet it still overheated and tripped the motor overloads. I can only think that the motor is still not getting enough ventilation. I have check and cleared all the incoming lines and found nothing block the pumps input or output lines. Any suggestion?
ANSWER : I just looking into this issue my self. The pump cools itself by a internal fan, which is run by the motor. Well I took the housing cover off to find out all the fan blades have broken off and were setting in the base of the pump. Once you remove the fan blades from covering the air intake, it might be fine. I will find out my self once summer gets here.
