Last, but not least, generally, riveting is not as strong as welding. If you need the two parts to be capable of withstanding forces that draw the pieces apart, riveted joints will be more likely to fail compared to a properly welded joint.

Make, Model and Year
The type/model and year the boat was built can be found imprinted on the hull of the boat in the Hull Identification Number or HIN code.
The HIN is the Hull Identification Number assigned to the boat. Each HIN is unique to that boat, and is the same as the VIN on a motor vehicle. All boats manufactured after 1972 have a HIN consisting of 12 characters as required by the Federal Boat Safety Act of 1972.
Historic: Any vessel constructed before and up to 1918. Antique: Any boat built between 1919 and 1942. Classic: A boat built between 1943 and 1975. Late classic: A boat ranging from 1976 to 25 years prior to the current year — from 2021, that would be 1996.
