How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :

Production of the Model 1300 ceased in 2006, when the U.S. Repeating Arms Company went bankrupt.
Barrel Length: 18″
Will they fit earlier or different models? The Model 1300 barrels will fit Model 1200 receivers, but 1200 barrels will not fit a Model 1300. Model 1400 barrels will not interchange with Models 1200 or 1300 barrels.
Model 1300 “Defender 8-Shot Pistol Grip” – buckshot and rifled slugs; eight-shot magazine capacity; 18″ cylinder bore barrel; non-glare metal surfaces; composite stock and forearm; full stock or pistol grip versions; removable TRUGLO fiber optic sight; full stock available in 12- or 20-gauge.
The barrel can safely shoot both lead and steel shot.
With the closure of the USRAC factory in 2007, production of the Winchester model 1300 shotguns, along with other Winchester brand guns, was relocated to the Winchester Repeating Arms Co; new guns will be manufactured by one of the FN ManufacturingCo subsidaries located in Morgan, Utah.
What is the ideal barrel length for your turkey gun? Shorter barrels have become the general norm for turkey guns because they are more maneuverable and lighter to carry. Choosing a turkey gun with a barrel length between 21 – 24 inches will suit you well.
A shotgun barrel must be at least 18 inches in length as outlined in the NFA. Any shorter (seriously – any tiny bit shorter) than that and it is considered to be an SBS.
The Winchester 1300 is compatible with Winchester, Browning Invector & Mossberg 500 type chokes.
From largest to smallest (keep in mind that as gauge goes up, bore diameter goes down) they are: 10 gauge, 12 gauge, 16 gauge, 20 gauge, 28 gauge and . 410 bore.
You can still find a 4 gauge shotgun as a used gun every so often, and they are legal to own and shoot in the United States, although they cannot be used for hunting. In England, a few people still hunt with them on occasion. A very few are still made as high-end, custom guns.
Today`s 12-gauge shells come in 2½-, 2¾-, 3- and 3½-inch lengths (and they all hold different amounts of powder and shot charges).
The . 50-110 WCF (also known as the . 50-100-450 WCF , with different loadings) in modern 1886 Winchesters with modern steel barrels is the most powerful lever-action cartridge, with up to 4,000 foot-pounds (5,400 J) of energy.
The most popular steel for shooting targets is 3/8″ thick AR500 steel plates, as this is strong enough to handle a bullet impact without pitting, warping, or incurring excessive damage.
Though cheaper, steel offers a less malleable construction. As such, it creates a poorer seal — generally running dirtier across the board. This creates more opportunities for malfunctions due to carbon buildup. It also means a rifle shooting steel-cased ammo will be less reliable in the long run…
Winchester`s manufacturing operations include a state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Oxford, Miss. and East Alton, Ill.
Guns bearing the Winchester brand name will continue to be made at plants in Portugal, Belgium and Japan, a company spokesman said. The Herstal Group, which owns U.S. Repeating Arms, also owns the well-known Browning firearms company.
Plenty of Power. As mentioned above, there was a time when 40 yards was considered the far side of a turkey hunter`s effective range with a 12-gauge. However, with the introduction of TSS loads, 40 yards and beyond, is easily accomplished with the 20-gauge shotgun.
The goal for shotgun patterning is to be on target, so sit and use a rest to keep the shotgun steady. Determine a good pattern at 30 yards or 40 yards and know your shotgun`s range. One doesn`t have to be a professional shooter to be able to harvest a turkey.
You may hunt with a shotgun or handgun only when using shot no larger than #2 and no smaller than #9. You may not take a turkey with a rifle, or with a handgun firing a bullet.
Barometric Pressure: The average barometric pressure also affects gobbling activity. Higher pressure is often associated with higher vocal activity from the birds. According to research, turkeys are most active at 29.9 to 30.2 inches.
Barrel length is an important part of the gun`s overall balance. Longer barrels tend to make the gun more nose heavy while shorter barrels make the gun more stock heavy. Shorter barrels are quick and longer barrels provide for more deliberate shooting.
As long as you know your velocity—and your bullet`s ballistic coefficient—you can know your trajectory. Longer barrels are not more accurate. If anything, it`s quite the opposite. Shorter, stiffer barrels tend to vibrate more consistently and are probably more accurate on average.
The barrel of a shotgun without a tube magazine can be cut to any length; pump-action or semi-automatic shotguns usually have a tube magazine attached to the underside of the barrel which limits the practical minimum barrel length to about the length of the magazine tube, unless it also is modified, technically much …

The following is Wisner’s rendition & info on the subject.
The difference in the old firing pin and the new one is as follows. The old replaced
style, was totally lathe tuned (round). While the new recall style is similar in lathe
turning on the front and back, but in the front midsection it has two flats milled, one
on each side. This makes the center section stronger. Also replaced is the bolt sleeve
lock pin (firing pin guide) which was made to accommodate this different shaped firing
pin
Part number for the new parts are, firing pin =1391ND, bolt sleeve locking pin =1491ND
The word was at the time this recall was in process was that if the firing pin would
break at the mid section and still remain in the gun as two pieces, the possibility of a
premature discharge before the bolt was locked was possible. This apparently was caused
by the firing pin tip (now not having a retracting spring) to be stuck forward, and
thereby slam-firing upon chambering.
The responsibility for the recall apparently was on Olin, as they were the parent company
at time of manufacture. Olin set up regional recall centers at three established US
gunshops. There was a manufacturing delay in the replacement firing pins, and a backlog
occurred, also some collectors did not like the idea of shipping their guns long
distances. Olin then also authorized other gunshops to make the required alterations.
Upon completion of the recall, the shops were to test fire the firearm and to stamp an
assigned letter on the inside top of the receiver as seen thru the magazine well with the
bolt retracted. The letter “B” represented Bolsa Gunsmithing, “L” was Lefever, and “N”
was for Nu-line Guns. The letter “X” apparently was for all the other independent shops.
However this identification information did not get communicated to some of the smaller
shops at the start of the project. The only way to tell if the gun as been modified, if
the ”letter” is not present, is to take the barrel & action out of the stock, remove the
trigger guard assembly and the try to rotate the firing pin by twisting it. If it does
NOT rotate, then the firing pin recall HAS been performed.

Winchester model 1200 action stuck open – Sport & Outdoor – Others
ANSWER : You have to make sure the hammer on the trigger group is cocked and then you have to make sure the slide arms are in the cutouts on the bottom of the bolt assembly. You assemble the trigger group to the receiver by carefully working the front end of the trigger group into the slots at the front end of the receiver. Then gently push the rear end of the trigger group down into position. This should go in easy if everything is lined up–don’t force it.Then install the trigger guard pin from right to left until its flush with the receiver.I took all the above from the pdf manual I have for the model 1200 that I found online. The pictures would help (page three). I’m looking for a link to the manual and will post it when I find it.Here, its on page three of the manual: http://gunmanuals.net/Manuals/winchester_1200.pdf
