Activities not Sports
There are a lot of recreational outdoor activities that involve high levels of physical exertion, but do not have the competitive element that make it a sport. Examples are hiking, canyoning (canyoneering), trailblazing, bungee jumping.
Activities should be suspended until 30 minutes after the last strike of lightning is seen (or at least 5 nmi away) and after the last sound of thunder is heard. This 30-minute clock restarts for each lightning flash within 5 nmi and each time thunder is heard.
Outdoor play is a natural way for children of all ages to do physical activity. It`s good for children`s health and well-being to be physically active through play. Being active burns energy and can help prevent illnesses in adulthood.
Recent data show that activities gaining in popularity include cycling, paddle sports (rafting, kayaking, canoeing), golf, camping and birding or nature-watching. Among kids and teenagers, skateboarding is becoming more popular.
Immediately get off elevated areas such as hills, mountain ridges, or peaks. Never lie flat on the ground. Crouch down in a ball-like position with your head tucked and hands over your ears so that you are down low with minimal contact with the ground. Never shelter under an isolated tree.
Lightning can jump through windows, so keep your distance from them during storms! The second way lightning can enter a building is through pipes or wires. If the lightning strikes utility infrastructure, it can travel through those pipes or wires and enter your home that way.
Seek safe shelter immediately. Remember these lightning safety rules: When thunder roars, go indoors and stay there until 30 minutes after the last clap of thunder. For those who are hearing impaired, remember See a Flash, Dash Inside.
In amateur football, once lightning strikes within a certain radius of the stadium (around eight miles), the officials suspend the game and order both teams off the field. Stadium management then moves the fans under the stadium.
Because electrical charges can linger in clouds after a thunderstorm has seemingly passed, experts agree that people should wait at least 30 minutes after the last thunder before resuming outdoor activities.
Many outdoor activities naturally help young children develop essential motor skills like coordination, agility, balance, and dexterity. Kids who are encouraged to explore outdoor environments will put their abilities to the test and constantly develop new skills through trial and error.
In August 2016, the International Olympic Committee approved karate as an Olympic sport beginning at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Karate also debuted at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.
In the western world, people have started referring to yoga as a sports activity as just like any sports, it requires high-skill techniques & great strength. However, many yogis believe that yoga is a spiritual practice that is in no way fits under the sports discipline.

Non-traditional sports — ranging from surfing and skateboarding to climbing and breakdancing — are gaining popularity and themselves entering the mainstream sporting conversation; while sport climbing became an Olympic sport at Tokyo 2020, breaking is set to make its Olympic debut in 2024.
I have a Husqvarna LZ6127 zero turn mower, works hard on 50 acre farm, I was mowing last evening and it developed a nasty sounding rattle from the underside, I shut off the deck and noticed sparks from underside along pump belt, I lifted it today and the idler looks ok, I tried to start it while it was lifted and it turned a few times and then just clicked, starter won’t turn the engine over now, should I suspect the clutch?
ANSWER : This machine has a electro magnetic clutch, bolted to the end of the crankshaft, if the bearing in the centre has seized it would explain why the engine will not now crank, it relys on the crank turning on the bearing when the blade are not engaged, unfortunatley the clutch is non servicable, it is is part no. 539105406, check also the anti rotation bracket is still in place and fractured, this stops the clutch outer from spining with the centre, the clutch is just bolted on the end of the crank, remove the belt, you will have to loosen it by taking it off one of the blade pulleys, remove the 5/8 bolt, dissconnect the wiring connector, and pull the clutch off the end of the crank, if the bearing in the centre is solid, it will require a new clutch, be aware they can be expensive!.
