How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :

The invoice and dealer receipt. The invoice usually includes the make and model number of your RV. Your owner`s manual and operating instructions. Your RV model number should be printed on any of the new owner materials provided by the manufacturer.
Your chassis number on a motorhome will be found on the inside of the door of the gas bottle compartment. This consists of 1 letter of the alphabet followed by 5 numeral digits.
Inside the Vehicle

In the driver`s side door or door jamb – the VIN is usually printed on a sticker in that location.

The 17 digit VIN number associated with all motor vehicles (and trailers) is designed and mandated by the government to promote industry uniformity.
A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) sticker is located on the front of your PJ Trailer and is 17 characters long. If your VIN sticker is missing or damaged, you can locate the last 7 digits of the VIN (Serial Number) stamped in the tongue or welded on the inside the frame.
Lightweight camp, utility, and boat trailers are usually sold by the original manufacturer with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) displayed by the mylar decal or sticker-type label required under the federal motor vehicle safety standards.
The first digit defines the country of origin or the final point of assembly of your vehicle. The second digit indicates the manufacturer and the region where your vehicle was produced. The third digit, when coupled with the first two digits, indicates your vehicle`s type or manufacturing division.
The first character of the VIN is the VIN number country code. It is used to identify the country or region where the car was manufactured. The country may be represented either by a digit or letter.
Your Bill of Sale, Insurance paperwork, Registration or Title will have the Serial number listed. On the unit it would typically be stamped on a tag which is mounted on the A-frame of a Travel Trailer or on the pin box of a Fifth Wheel.
A vehicle`s identification number (VIN) is a unique identifier. The most common VIN format is the 17-digit VIN, which became standard for all vehicles manufactured since January 1981. Vehicles manufactured prior to 1981 may have as few as 5 digits to as many as 13 digits.
Yes, there are VINs that are not 17 digits. Before the NHTSA standardized the system in 1981, VIN`s varied in length from 11 to 17 characters. The downside with this is that most online VIN check programs or decoders cannot process VIN`s that are not 17 digits in length.
Vehicle Identification Number

Newly assembled trailers are required to have a VIN. To acquire a VIN for your assembled trailer, you must first have the trailer inspected by an auto theft law enforcement officer. For more information on how to obtain a VIN, contact your local TxDMV Regional Service Center.

If your vehicle does not have a vehicle identification number (VIN), or if the VIN has been altered or defaced, you must apply for a special identification number (MVIN) before you can apply for a certificate of title or registration. Application for an MVIN are processed by the BMV Central Office.
VIN`s must be clearly stamped, embossed or otherwise permanently marked on a substantial part of a vehicle`s frame or body. Each VIN contains a set of encoded details about the vehicle and its origins, and is designed to make the modification and re sale of stolen vehicles more difficult.
Vehicle Identification Number – Year Codes

As noted, the vehicle`s year is identified by a letter or number in the 10th position from the left in the VIN. As shown above, the 10th character of the VIN indicates its model year.

A VIN beginning with a 1, 4, or 5 indicates that the vehicle was assembled in the United States; a VIN beginning with a 2 indicates it was assembled in Canada; a VIN beginning with a 3 indicates the vehicle was made in Mexico.
Most people believe the VIN is just a series of random numbers and letters. But these characters are highly structured codes which have their own meaning. Vehicles from model year 1981 to present have a VIN made up of 17 characters (letters and numbers).
If there is no label, your motorhome registration will have the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) that will tell us what chassis your coach rides on.
There are four main types of pop-up campers: tent-trailers, high wall campers, a-frames and teardrop campers. Standard tent trailers can “pop up” on the sides, creating extra tent space for sleeping. High wall campers are similar to standard tent trailers; however, they have higher sidewalls and a hard top.
Measure the trailer from the back bumper to the tip of the tongue jack, and add on the accessories or tow vehicle separately. Ensure the measurements are accessible. Once you take the time to measure your RV, keep the measurements on hand for reference.
The numbers and letters at the end of the RV is the model of that particular brand. It is almost like a secret code to let the shopper know the floorplan type, vehicle length or square footage and the camper`s features.

Most of the time the numbers indicate the length of the RV. The number does not include the hitch or tow vehicle so you may need to look those details up on the manufacturer website. Knowing the length will help you determine where you camp as some campgrounds have restrictions on length.

We have a pop-up with the sink that folds down. We need to replace the sink drain from the sink to outside, but the only flex drain hoses that I can find have a hose only 26 inches long. I know that will not be long enough to go from the sink to the outside of the camper.

Do you know if any place I can go to get a sink drain system with a longer hose. The contraption (I don’t know what it is called) at the base of the sink drain has rusted off so that the swivel part of the drain system is gone. We currently have a garden hose connected to the pipe coming directly from the drain, but when we close the camper, it pops off.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks

Michele

ANSWER : Hi mj2181,I would say your problem should be solved easily with a hose extension , if you can get the extension and then use it , it should be ok for you and there should be no need to get a sink drain system with a longer hose.An example of an extension hose can be found on this link :- http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-number/7174401GS/0071/580?sid=SPDx20101101xNXTGHope this helps ,
