The Model 19 Classic also uses a frame-mounted firing pin rather than the original hammer-mounted pin. Another noticeable difference is the small circular hole above the cylinder release—a key lock common to all new-manufacture S&W revolvers. When engaged, it locks the revolver`s action and renders it unable to fire.

Smith & Wesson Model 29
This classic revolver is popular for hunting due to its powerful chambering in . 44 Magnum, a powerful cartridge suitable for hunting medium to large game. The Model 29 is one of the classic Smith and Wesson revolvers and is well-known by revolver enthusiasts.
Model numbers or names are often stamped or engraved on the barrel or slide, often along with the Make. In some cases, the Model will also be represented as a prefix or other portion of the pistol`s serial number, or may be stamped on the frame in less obvious locations (e.g., under the grip panels).
The S&W K-frame is larger than the J-frame. It is one of S&W`s original models that has a swing-out cylinder. Like the I-frame, it had been around since the 1890s.
Pinned means the barrel has a small pin that runs perpendicular to the barrel where the barrel and frame are attached. Recessed means the cylinders are counter bored just enough for the rim of the cartridge to sit flush with the top of the cylinder.
