A strike is a labor stoppage by workers who use it as a tactic to press demands on their employer. These goals can include wage increases, shorter work hours, fringe benefits, and job security.

One of their objectives is to change the balance of power between workers and employer. Most strikes are about pay and better working conditions. Without the threat of strike action, corporations will be able to make bigger profits, while working conditions will get worse. Strike is part of their bargaining tool.
The first step and absolute key to getting strikes is hitting the “strike pocket”. The strike pocket is between the 1 and 2 pins for left-handers and between the 1 and 3 pins for right-handers. Hitting the pocket consistently with the right amount of speed and hook will lead to repeating strikes and much higher scores.
A strike is marked when you knock down all the pins with your first roll. A strike gives you extra pins as a bonus. You do not add up the score for this frame until you have rolled the ball two more times. A spare is marked when you knock down all the pins with two rolls.
There are mainly three kinds of strike, namely general strike, stay-in-strike and go slow. General Strike: In General Strike, the workmen join together for common cause and stay away from work, depriving the employer of their labour needed to run his factory. Token Strike is also a kind of General Strike.
You have the right to participate in a strike and cannot be forced to stay at or return to work while industrial action is ongoing (unless, that is, the necessary ballot was not properly conducted).

Employees can join an official strike if they`re in the same `bargaining unit` as the trade union members. This sometimes just means working for the same employer. If someone is not sure if they`re allowed to strike, they can check with: their employer.
A strike should be spontaneous and not manipulated. If it is organized without any compulsion there would be no chance for goondaism and looting. Such a strike would be characterized by perfect co-operation amongst the strikers. It should be peaceful and there should be no show of force.
Strikes are powerful for a simple reason: The only thing the boss wants from workers is labor. Withhold that, and the business grinds to a halt. It`s powerful leverage; so powerful in fact, that a credible threat of a strike is often just as potent as a strike itself.
Q: How does a strike happen? For a strike to occur, a union or group of workers begins negotiations with an employer about the union members terms and conditions. A threat of strike action is the main weapon that the workers have, essentially the workers will walk off the job if collective demands are not met.

Most strikes are protected, but certain kinds of strikes are not protected, depending on the object or purpose of the strike, on its timing, or on the conduct of the strikers. You can be lawfully fired for participating in an unprotected strike. When a protected strike ends, you are entitled to return to work.
Whether the strike is justified or unjustified will depend upon the fairness and reasonableness of the demands of workers. Thus, if workmen go on strike without contravening statutory requirements, in support of their demands, the strike will be justified.
A general strike has a political purpose and aims to make the Government take action. It involves numerous unions across multiple industries, as opposed to a national strike, which happens within one sector countrywide.
A typical no-strike clause reads: The union hereby agrees that no employee shall engage in, induce, or encourage any strike or work stoppage.
If a strike is undertaken for economic purposes, workers may be replaced by their employers. However, when the union agrees to end the strike without conditions, striking workers must be allowed to return to a similar position or be the first called when new positions become available.
Every person is allowed up to three strikes, and upon receiving the third strike – having been convicted of a third felony – the person must receive a mandatory sentence to life in prison, usually without a chance for parole.
