The Coleman Sundome 2-Person Tent is designed for quick and easy setup, so you can spend more time enjoying the outdoors. Great for camping in warm weather, this backpacking tent is designed with large windows and a ground vent to help push warm air up and out to keep you comfortable.
Do Coleman Tents Need to be Waterproofed? Coleman tents need to be waterproofed if it will be subject to more than 30 minutes to 1 hour of heavy rain. If so, seam sealant is to be applied to at least the inverted flooring seam inside the Coleman tent.
10 Person Tents

Fitting 4-6 people and their gear, a 10-person tent can be quite comfortable.

Coleman tents can last at least 5 years if they are well taken care of, and are used lightly. This includes but is not limited to using a footprint while camping, cleaning and drying the Coleman tent after use, and storing it properly when not in use.
To summarise, and help you choose your new tent, a general rule is that a good quality tent with a 1500 – 3000mm waterhead rating on the tent fly, along with a 6000mm+ rating on the floor or one made from durable polyethylene or PVC, is going to keep you sheltered and dry in all but the absolute worst of conditions.
If a tent is packed away wet, then mould will develop on the taped seams, and fabric. This degrades the fabric to the point it is no longer repairable. The tent will begin to smell very strongly, and we pitch them indoors, making it quite difficult to pitch.
Tent footprint should be just large enough for the number of people sleeping in it, with maybe a little extra room to allow for easy exits for those 3 AM bathroom runs. Having extra space inside your tent to store gear safely is great in the summer time, but creates much more air space to be heated.
Ten-Person Tent

Six adults and gear can also fit pretty comfortably, but anymore and you might feel like a pack of sardines. The floor area for this size is a massive 150 to 180 square feet. If you are going to a campground, be sure they offer campsites that can accommodate this size tent.

As a general rule, a family of 4 will need at least a 6 person tent. A family of 5 will likely need an 8P tent and a 6-person family will need a 10P tent. However, these guidelines aren`t always accurate. Some very large tents will actually only sleep four people comfortably, especially if you are using air mattresses.
The same thing can happen in a tent: Warm air inside moves out to the rainfly, which is cooler because the outside air is cooler. The result is condensation on the underside of your rainfly. That water may then saturate your tent fabric or drip through a mesh window.
You can use a sponge and mild soap to wipe off a dirty tent.

Do not use a washing machine to clean your tent. And always let it air dry before re-packing.

We don`t recommend extended pitching during the winter months. Canvas Bell Tents are created for holiday camping, so leaving pitched for longer durations will increase the risk of mould forming on the canvas. Holiday camping is considered to be a duration between one day and up to 4 weeks.
The Coleman Skydome Tent is basically a Coleman Sundome tent with higher ceilings and wider doors. What Coleman does to make a Skydome is extend the poles 20% longer than their traditional Sundome tents and add a bit more tent fabric to the top, which gives you a center height of over 6`.
3-person tent measures 7 ft. x 7 ft. with a 4 ft. center height.
To that end, waterproofing is essential to a functional tent and a comfortable camping trip. Every tent, from a cheap pop up to a high-end backpacking tent needs a water-resistance refresh from time to time. So, if you want to make sure you stay dry while camping, you`ll have to waterproof your tent from time to time.
Yurts have been a distinctive feature of life in Central Asia for at least two and a half thousand years. The first written description of a yurt used as a dwelling was recorded by the ancient Greek historian Herodotus.
Inside they are dark and cool. The Bedouin tent is divided into two sections by a woven panel or curtain known as a ma`nad. One section, reserved for the men and the receiving of guests, is the mag`ad, or “sitting place”.

How to put up a coleman tucana tent – Coleman 10' X 10' Sundome Tent 9160K101
ANSWER : Wow. They put more and more stuff on tents. I’ll give it a try based on a photo I found.First, peg the four corners down. This will help it from moving around.Find the two longest poles. These are your main supports and once you get them in, you can use the tent without the fancy rain cover (if you want to). They should run diagonally from the corner’s you pegged. Start at one corner and slide the poles through the sleeves in the top of the tent towards the opposite corner. The next two longest go from back to front. They do not cross diagonally. Slide these into their sleeves. Now the hardest part. Slide a pole into a peg hole or a pin (if your poles have holes in the bottom), then bend the pole and attach it to it’s corresponding corner. Just let the bent poles lay on the ground. Do the same with the others. It shouldn’t matter which poles go up first, but I would do the diagonals myself, then the side supports. Once these 4 poles are up, you’re in business. To attach the monster rain cover flip the whole thing over the top and figure out which side goes to the door. It looks like the lantern is on the right front. It looks like you should have two poles left. One may be the same size as the side support poles, or very close to it. This is the front door pole. The smallest pole is the side roof support.Slide the front door sleeve through it’s sleeve, then attach it to the pins or holes where the diagonally support poles are. They should have two pins in this spot, one for ea pole. Next, slide the side support pole side to side under the roof, but over the tent. It should have little pockets to put the pole into. Last, you’ll have to bungie the hooks to the little rings at each corner of the rain cover. Forget all the strings, unless you want to stake them out to stretch your tent a little. Hope this helped. Tent I bought a tent the name on the outside says South Mountain. Not sure how to put up. It has two long rods & two short ones it looks like there are two rain gaurds also. There are no instrutions that came with this tent. Are there any pics that that show how to put up. I think the tent is around five years old.
ANSWER : It has to be similar to this (see link below). Most tents assemble in similar ways. Insert rods through the sleeves. Hook one side of the rod to one corner, arch the rods and hook the other side of the rod to the opposite corner. Repeat for the other rod.
