Other OEM`s ATV/UTV oils range from 0W-40 to 10W-40, depending on what the engineers have determined the best viscosity for their engines. ATV/UTV engine oils need to flow in extremely cold temperatures so that plow-equipped vehicle gets enough lubricant on startup on a cold winter morning.
Our answer: Using a motor oil meant for car engines is not the best option for ATV`s or UTV`s. In the case of ATV`s with manual transmissions and wet-clutches, it can be disastrous. Even if your ATV does not have a manual transmission and wet-clutch, there are better options than automotive motor oil.
An SAE 110 and SAE 140 will generally work fine, even when it`s cold. The higher viscosity of these, relative to an SAE 90, provides improved shock load protection in a 4×4 vehicle. The drawback is that if the axle isn`t really hot, the heavier oil creates more friction, which can impact fuel economy.

You can use 10w30 instead of 5w30 oil since both meet the SAE standard for viscosity at operating temperatures. Generally, the viscosity difference between the two is neglectable. However, it`s important to note that a 10w30 oil will move slower than a 5w30 oil in cold environments.
You can use 5W-30 oil instead of 5W-20 oil if your engine allows for it. The safest way to make sure that it does is to consult your owner`s manual. If it doesn`t, you`re putting your engine at risk for engine damage and reduced performance.
There`s not much difference between 10W-30 and 10W-40 motor oil. What sets them apart has more to do with temperature fluctuations and engine load. For moderate weather, either engine oil grades should work fine. Your choices will become more critical when you start getting into high-heat situations.
It`s best to use the oil viscosity recommended in the owner`s manual, but using a slightly thinner or thicker oil (lighter or heavier viscosity) generally poses no long-term harm.
The difference between 10w40 and 10w50 is how thin the oil gets when it`s hot, 10w50 oil won`t thin out as quickly as 10w40 when oil temperature goes up, but it also might be too thick during regular running in cold temperatures. Company recommends 10W50, which is freely available. Don`t use different grades.
Not ideal. Normal recommendation for these engines is a 5W-30. Moving to a 10W will reduce oil flow from cold, and can cause problems with the hydraulic lifters.
Use 10W-40 Synthetic Dirt Bike Oil in dirt bikes that require 10W-40 motorcycle oil, including those made by Honda*, Yamaha*, Kawasaki*, Suzuki* and Husqvarna. Recommended for separate-sump applications, including the Honda CRF, and many two-stroke dirt bikes.

ANSWER : Not a pro with rhinos but sounds like you got oil from crank case. like if you have a seal broken, hope not but my car had same problem and I had a cracked gasket. good luck. you can check the oil to see if it looks milky

Does the John Deere series 100 lawn tractor have some sort of safety feature that shuts the engine off if it gets dangerously low on oil? I was cutting grass this morning and the engine sputtered and quit. I got off the tractor and noticed that the oil drain line plug was open and dripping oil. Have I ruined my engine or can I refill it with oil and continue on?
ANSWER : Not sure on this specific mower, but oil is usually there to lubricate and keep the temp down. When theres none in it, it gets hot and melts the pistons. Sounds bad to me

2005 honda foreman 400 Shifting problem
ANSWER : Hello
it seems that the control motor may be sticking to lock, and/or the angle sensor is bad or causeing this. something to check is the control motor shaft lock. on the left side of the atv there is an electric motor that is bolted to the front crankcase. take the two bolts that hold it on, off. and remove the motor. take a short screwdriver, and you should be able to turn this shaft freely either way. if you cannot nudge it a little the one way it may be stuck and see if this frees it up. if this was stuck and gets freed up. this may just be a temporary lock, but if it continues the angle sensor may need to be replaced.
if the motor shaft was not locked up then the angle sensor may still be to blame. thank you.
