AC-DC Fundamentals

AC is also called mains electricity, household current, domestic power, line power, or wall power because it is the voltage supplied by a wall outlet. Worldwide, AC voltages range from 100 to 240 V. The rate of direction change is typically 50 to 60 times per second and is designated as Hertz (Hz).

If you`ve calculated that your system is going to use 500 watts (a common number for a straightforward gaming build), choosing a PSU with 600 or 650-watt output could be a good option, as it will give you some overhead to work with, and also allow for potential future upgrades.
Introduction to PC Power Supply

The typical PC power supply draws approximately 110 volts of alternating electrical current from the wall outlet, which converts to a much smaller unidirectional flow of electrical current. Alternating current (AC) defines the flow of charge that changes direction periodically.

A power supply is a device that converts one voltage to another more convenient voltage while delivering power. Power supplies are designed from the output back to the input.
3 phase Wye nominal low voltages 120 volts/208 volts, and 277 volts/480 volts, are commonly available for commercial and lite industrial buildings. 277 volts is used primarily for commercial office lighting, and 480 volts is used to power large HVAC systems.
5V power supplies (or 5VDC power supplies) are one of the most common power supplies in use today. In general, a 5VDC output is obtained from a 50VAC or 240VAC input using a combination of transformers, diodes and transistors.
The 450W range is generally for the RX 570 or GTX 1060/GTX 1660 range, with equivalent low-end CPUs. So it is enough, for budget gaming, but not for high end gaming or mid-range gaming.
Most gaming-level graphics cards require additional power connectors. If yours does, make sure you connect those PCI-E power cables. Your graphics card will not function correctly without properly supplied power. In fact, if you don`t connect those PCI-E power cables your PC may be unable to boot.
The core-voltage requirement ranges from 0.9 to 1.3 V and is usually defined by specific processor performance criteria.
In the USA the two commonly supplied shore-power voltages are 120 Volts (60Hz) AC and 240 Volts (60Hz) AC. The standard in Europe is 230 Volts (50Hz) AC.
All power supply cabling comes in three styles: modular, semi-modular, and pre-installed. Modular power supplies save space by allowing users to connect the minimum amount of cables for each device.
On most Nvidia GPUs, the 12V_Bus is used to power the first 2 phases for the Vcore and every other minor rail such as 5V, meaning powering on the card without the external 8-pin connectors will put the card in a bootable state which shows a text saying “please power off the computer and connect the external 8-pin …
So, why is the 3.3V a standard power supply voltage level? Because power consumption has always been a concern for designers, lower power supply voltage levels were introduced to make more power-efficient circuits and devices.
It was designed to use 5 volts because that provided the best combination of noise immunity, power consumption and speed with the existing technology. Naturally, connecting circuits such as sensors and other devices tried to use the same voltage to avoid the need for extra power supplies.
The main disadvantage of the 5V system is that voltage drop is a more significant limiting factor. However 5V systems are much more power efficient than 12V systems; a 5V linear system will always be 2.4 times more efficient than it`s equivalent 12V system.
For most people, 500 watts is going to be a great option. Honestly, you`re going to be able to hit top speeds of 20 miles an hour by just pushing the throttle, and the acceleration you get, I`ve seen lots of people test ride these e-bikes for the first time, and you can see those videos on our YouTube channel.
As a rule of thumb, however, you want to allocate around 3 watts of power for every 8GB of DDR3 or DDR4 memory. High-performance memory such as Ballistix® parts can draw more power, especially if you overclock the voltage beyond XMP settings.
Laptops use between 15 and 60 typically while desktop computers range between 60 and 250 watts. Google searching for your computer`s wattage is the easiest way to get the most accurate number. Once you have this number, divide by 1000 to get kilowatts and multiply by hours to get kilo-watt hours.
750 watts is typically the maximum wattage that most computers will need, even for gaming rigs. In order to get a unit beyond this wattage requires a significant complex system.
1-3 of 3 Answers. You cannot have too strong of a PSU. The PSU is rated at it`s maximum draw available, not how much it is constantly putting out. 850W is certainly overkill, but excess is always better with a PSU.
Minimum 550 W or greater system power supply with one 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.
stay under 1.35V (under full load!) and under 1.45v idle if you want to keep your CPU for longer than 2-3 years without degrading it. .
Usually when you increase CPU speed and notice that your system is unstable, you need more volts. However do not go above 1.4V. Above that and it can be dangerous. Stay between 1.35-1.41 if possible for high overclocks.
Preliminaries Regarding GPU Boost

There is a voltage limit associated with Nvidia graphics cards, which is usually around 1.093-1.100V. In most cases, the highest you will achieve is 1.05-1.063V unless you increase the voltage slider to 100% in MSI Afterburner and manually tune the VF curve.

What is the voltage of the power supply for the game electronics?
ANSWER : There should be some small writing next to or on bottom of the electronic device you want to hook up. Some take 6v and some take 9 or 12v. It all depends on the device

Can a HDS 5 Lowrance Fish Finder be interchanged with a original Lowrance X135 Fish finder, and will power and Transducer plug right into the original supplied power cords. Is the HDS 5 or HDS 5X the same size as the original X135 by Lowrance. I am wanting to install the HDS version into to the original Bow mounted location as the X135 has already been. I s this possible without cutting a slightly larger compartment to accomodate the HDS 5 unit
ANSWER : Hi, well I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but those two are NOT interchangeable sorry. The “Drive Current & Voltage” for the Transducer are not the same at all, in fact i don’t even think that the “pin outs” are the same? but cannot remember off hand? Unless specifically indicated by the manufacturer, one cannot usually swap transducers among instruments, if one does/did do so, well indeed the transducer maybe damaged and or the output of the sounder maybe damaged as well?

These manufacturers actually make it so that none of their equipment is interchangeable, as they wish to maximize the profits you see, and if one could just swap things among models etc, then “They” would, in their mind anyway “loose out”

So you will simply have to cut a new hole and mount for you new transducer. make sure you mount it in the manufacturers recommended place, the Bow is fine, although I often recommend that it be central to the craft, but, sometimes this isn’t possible for varying reasons.

Sometimes if one must retro-fit a new transducer to an existing but different size etc site, then, it is best to “Fill” the old mounting hole(s) with a suitable material, and then re-drill and re-mount it all again.

ANSWER : A good source to try would be Fundex

We puechsaed a lay z spa deluxe in the uk and took it back to spain where it was working fine however every now and again the display shows cgf now i know the power supply is earthed sbur we are on builders supply as this is a new devplement but the proplem we how have is that the spa will not heat higher than 32c and sometimes when it as been turn off and turned on again it can be someime before it starts up. Can you tell me what the proplem maybe we have had it checked out by the local swimming pool shop but they can not find anything wrong
ANSWER : The heating element is faulty and must be replaced, but first if you are capable also check to make sure it is recieving the correct voltage to power the element.

I have The Protector model #6742Df electronic combination. It came with a key, I’m guessing will open it if the electronic key pad runs out of power. The key pad is not lit and my wife lock her key in the safe. Can I order another key?
ANSWER : Yes you can order a new key from the manufacture or if you see numbers and letters ( key code ) on the face of the lock cylinder you can call a locksmith and they should be able to cut you the key by that code as well. if there is no code on the lock then you can have a locksmith pick it open and also make a key. either way — a locksmith will be your fastest way to get the key.
