A full rainfly is one that covers the entire area and not just part of it. Whether this is for a tent, a common area, or anywhere else, having a full rainfly will provide the maximum protection possible.

Go without the flysheet

This tip isn`t possible for all tents and it does depend on the weather. However, if your tent is an inner pitch first, then you can leave your flysheet at home and just take your poles, inner, and pegs. Be sure to check the weather forecast first though!

Do You Need A Rain Fly? You need a rain fly for most camping adventures. Even the best-weatherproofed tents depend on the rain fly for the system to work. Also, even when it isn`t raining, there is still dew, bird poop, UV protection, and other outdoor grime to consider.
A fly refers to the outer layer of a tent or to a piece of material which is strung up using rope as a minimalist, stand-alone shelter. In basic terms, a fly is a tent without walls. Purpose-made stand-alone flies are also sometimes referred to as bivouacs, bivvies, tarpaulins, or hootchies.
Set up the tent and spray down the rainfly with clean water (if you just washed your tent, you don`t have to wait for it to dry before applying a new DWR coating.) Apply the waterproof spray evenly over the exterior of the rainfly. After a couple minutes, take your damp cloth and wipe off any excess coating.
How do pop up tents work? Pop up tents have spring loaded tent poles which come pre-attached to the body of the tent. The tent bag keeps these springs compressed and the tent folded, but when you take it out of the bag the springs force the tent poles to extend.
The fly sheet`s job is to protect you from the weather and anything else light and airborne. The tent poles give the fly sheet structure and there`s a gap between the inner tent and fly sheet, to stop any dampness passing through.
Most tents can last many years in storage if they are gently used. On average nylon, tents can last 30 to 40 years in storage before degrading, cotton canvas tents up to 50 years, and polyester tents between 20 and 200 years before degrading, depending on storage conditions.
The fly sheet`s job is to protect you from the weather and anything else light and airborne. The tent poles give the fly sheet structure and there`s a gap between the inner tent and fly sheet, to stop any dampness passing through.
The Double fly Relief tents have an extra outer fly which covers the inner fly from both sides and extends to a little beyond the inner fly to give Extra protection from rain and extreme weather conditions.
We`ve all had problems with inflatables, but the reason inflatable tents are a little more expensive than your standard tent, is that they are made from a much stronger material. Think of it as buying a much more reliable airbed, you`d probably expect it to cost a little more than your standard budget airbed.

If you go to image 2 it shows it with out the fly. now if you got 2 sets of 4 poles, 2 long and 2 short, and one set is all aluminum, then I would go with the aluminum set.
