In a traditional game of lawn darts, scoring is quite simple. The players for both teams alternate throwing their darts (each team has two darts) towards the circular target at the other end, attempting to land the darts in the circle. Landing a dart within the circle earns a team three points.
The goal is to simply hit anywhere on each segment. There is no score in Around the World. Each player simply needs to keep track of the number they are on. The first player to go around the board and hit the bull wins!
Darts is played by two teams with each team having one member or more but an equal number in each team. Before the start of the game, the teams are generally allowed 9 throws each as warm-up. To decide who goes first in the game, each team will nominate one member to throw a single dart.
Killer Darts Overview
Players throw a dart with their non-dominate hand to determine their number. No two players can have the same number. Each player has three lives, once your double is hit three times you`re out of the game. Once you hit a double of your number you become a killer.
While darts is not a physically strenuous activity in its nature, it does pose some physical challenges – hand-eye coordination, improved aim, consistency, and muscle discipline. For all these reasons, darts does fit the official definition of the word sport and passes the test.
Dartboards can go outside but you should never leave them there. You could attach a dartboard to a sturdy stand and have it set-up in the garden but when you have finished playing, you should take it down and place it indoors.
The first player shoots from the first spot. If s/he makes the basket, s/he advances and shoots from the next spot. The same player continues around the markers until a basket is missed. After this player misses, s/he rebounds the ball, passes it to the next player in line, and goes to the end of the line.
(Also called “Round the Board” or “Once Round the Island.”) Rules of Play: The object of this popular game is to be the first player to hit every number on the dartboard from 1-20. Any part of the number – single, double or triple – counts. The numbers must be hit in order, and players alternate after three throws.
Number of Players: Any number of players may play, but normally two individuals or two teams play.
Three throws are counted as one round, and players compete for the highest score in a total of 8 rounds. COUNT-UP is perfect for solo practice! The game is simple, just add the points from 24 throws. You can find out your darts level by looking at your COUNT-UP score.
If the game is 301, everyone starts with 301 points. The name of the game is the starting number of points. The number hit is reduced from the starting points and the game ends when the score becomes exactly 0! The first player to lower his/her score to 0 wins!
Dartitis is a medical condition experienced by dart players. It is an unexplained loss of motor control in the hand, wrist, or arm. It is similar to “the yips”, and results in the inability to properly release the dart during a throw.
In a game of 501 the object is for one player or a team to be the first to reach zero from starting total of 501. In simple terms, after three darts are thrown, the throwing player subtracts the total scored from his current total until he reaches zero.
In the game 21, you use three darts to get to the number 21. Your randomly suggested combination shows on the blinking two first cards. Hit the first suggested number gives you 1 extra point. Get 21 with 2 darts gives you 5 points and a bonus throw.
