I am using a Fujifilm xD-Picture card H512mb in my Fujifilm s5500 camera. I’ve used this same card before in the same camera, but thother day took the card out and downloaded its photos direct on my laptop. Flash on camera has stopped working

I bought a Fujifilm Finepix A825 digital camera from my local Morrisons supermarket about 1 month ago as a Christmas present however, the camera seems to be malfunctioning. It turns on and will let me press buttons to scroll through the menu’s however 99 out of 100 times, if i press a confirmation button or try to take a picture it just turns itself off with the zoom lens still out. I am not sure what the problem is as it does let me take a picture every once in a while. Please help!
