That sport came to be known in the US simply as “football”, and was embraced as a national pastime there. So as the world largely moved on from the word “soccer”, for Americans, another sport had taken the honour of being called football.
The sport is played on different types of tables. There are five different types of table that are approved for major competitions, which are, Leonhart, Bonzini, Garlando, Roberto Sport and Fireball.

The first official foosball table patent that can be identified was issued in 1921 by Harold Searles Thorton from the United Kingdom. While there were similar games that have patents dating back to the 1800`s, this was the first game that represents the same core playing features of the tables in modern times.
In the French language the game is called baby foot. This essentially translated as miniature football and is referred this way in France as well as Quebec, Canada.
Standard tables are ideal for personal game rooms as four people can play at a time. Tabletop versions are the smallest foosball tables and are perfect for smaller rooms.
You can trust the quality of Leonhart foosball tables because all individual parts are built in Germany, with no outsourcing to other countries. Their parts have been tested and improved for decades with an importance placed on durability.
While most foosball tables promote a more “Race and Reaction” style of play, Bonzini offers a player the opportunity to develop his or her game to more of a “Control and Creativity” style, to add their signature to the game.
usually foosball, but often referred to as jitz which initiated from the Italian word “gitoni” which means foosball or table soccer.
Some know this sport as “soccer”, but in Europe, it`s called football. And in Portugal, it`s called “futebol”.

Gegenpressing has become a popular playing style, with teams in Germany, England and further afield implementing the approach to playing.
For years both “soccer” and “football” were used interchangeably in England—football was the favored term, though “soccer” picked up use after World War II.
Indeed, the earliest form of football is understood to be `cuju` which was played in China during the Han dynasty from 206 BC to 220 AD. `Cuju` translates literally as `kick ball` and the aim of the game was to kick the ball into a net. Like later forms of the game in England, cuju outlawed the use of the hands.
The Name “Foosball”

Foosball is an Americanized version of the German word “Fussball,” which means foot and ball. If you take a closer look at the components of a traditional foosball table, you will see that the object of the game is to have your team kick the ball into your opponent`s goal.

Spinning of the rods is illegal. Spinning is defined as the rotation of any soccer figure more than 360 degrees before or after striking the ball. In calculating the 360 degrees, you do not add the degrees spun prior to striking the ball to the degrees spun after striking the ball.
Foosball Rules – No Spinning

Spinning is defined by the ITSF as “the rotation of any soccer figure more than 360 degrees before or more than 360° after striking the ball.” The foosball rulebook does not say why spinning is illegal, but there are certainly a couple of very valid reasons.

There is no way to advance your skill of the game if you spin the foosball rods and technically spinning the foosball rods is cheating.
