In more familiar (and drier) terms, the dimensions of a typical 45 L pack are around 28″ x 12″ x 12″.
Your backpack might be equipped with two small straps located at the top of the shoulder straps. These are the load lifters. Tighten them to pull the top of your backpack closer to your body, which will make the pack more comfortable and stabilize the load by keeping the top from swaying.
The load-lifters should form an approximately 45 degree angle with the back panel of the backpack and with the horizontal plane that is tangent to the top of your shoulders. If you feel like the shoulder straps are starting to pinch your armpits or shoulders, you probably just over tightened the load-lifters.
The load should be on the hip belt. The anchor points on the shoulder straps (webbing loops where you can attach items) should be 1 to 2 inches below the top of your shoulders. If your pack has load-lifter straps attached from the shoulders to the back of the pack, adjust them so there is a 45-degree angle.
To tighten a bra strap, hold the slide adjuster in the fingers of one hand as you pull the back part of the strap away from the adjuster, moving it toward the bra cup. The closer the slide adjuster, the tighter the bra strap should become.
Gear loops: These are backpack loops made of metal or fabric that you can use to attach even more gear. On the backpack below, you can see that gear loop below the front pocket. Bungee or Elastic Cords: Elastic cords go across your backpack to quickly store things like a jacket or a hat.
If you need to get into your backpack frequently while travelling, wearing it in front of you can be more convenient. You won`t have to take your backpack off every time you need to grab something, which can save time. If you are carrying fragile items in your backpack, wearing it in front of you can help protect them.
LARGE BACKPACKS (> 40L)
Anything around the 40-45 litre mark should still be carry-on compliant depending on the dimensions and the airline. They make for great travel bags when you don`t want to check in luggage. Even if you`re a heavy packer, you should be able to take a 45L pack away for a weekend.
A large carry on backpack is any bag that maximizes airlines` quoted carry on dimensions, usually 22 x 14 x 9”. Depending on a backpack`s shape, that typically translates to 40-45L in volume. Travelers best suited to a large carry on backpack are long-term travelers, max packers, and souvenir buyers.

Your backpack will generally be allowed as a carry-on if it`s under 50 liters, or about 22 x 14 x 9 inches. Get a 45-liter backpack if you want to carry as much stuff as possible on the plane with you. All Knack Packs are carry-on friendly (under 50 liters).
Slipping under airline baggage requirements and packing enough is possible if you minimize properly. So 40L is more than enough for a backpacking Europe backpack size.
🍁【50L Large Capacity】Size: 24*36*68cm, Capacity: 50L, Bearing: 20KG. HOMIEE hiking backpack is large enough to fit a lot of hiking gear.
A cheap plastic piece cut to fit the bottom of your bag might help to keep it standing upright. Alternatively, if you store heavier things toward the top of the backpack, nothing you do will keep it from tipping over (short of propping it against a chair/table?)
Tight, narrow straps that dig into your shoulders can cause tingling, numbness, and weakness in your arms and hands. Carrying a heavy pack can make people more likely to fall, particularly on stairs or other places where the backpack puts the wearer off balance.
Durability Quality backpacks are crafted using durable materials. Heavy-duty backpacks are generally made of ultra-strong nylon material and YKK-grade zippers and straps of nylon. Nylon and polyester are the most popular pack materials.
How do I pack my backpack comfortably? Maintain your center of gravity—and thus your comfort – by packing your heaviest, densest gear as close to your back as you can. Food, water and cooking gear should end up near or between your shoulder blades, where they won`t swing around and knock you off your stride.
You always want to fit your backpack from the hips up, starting with positioning the middle of the hip straps directly on top of your iliac crest. Give them a good strong tug, and make sure they`re tight. This will give you a solid foundation to build from.
You pull the strings to close the bag, and pull the bag apart at the top when you want to access the items stored inside. These bags are not typically very big, so they`re ideal for day trips to places like amusement parks or the beach.
Slide the sternum strap until it`s at a comfortable height across your chest: roughly an inch below your collarbones. Buckle and tighten the sternum strap to set the shoulder straps at a width that allows your arms to move freely. Avoid the common mistake of overtightening the sternum strap.
Sling bag (N.) [sling] Small sized bags that have a long strap, to be worn hanging from one shoulder are known as sling bags.
