Experienced athletes share their insights in answering this question:
Hello rbox11.Solar lights have a light sensor in the top that senses ambient light levels.By turning them upside down you would be putting them into complete darkness.I suspect the light levels you are normally putting them in isn’t dark enough to turn on your lights. Street lights, traffic lights, and lights from adjacent buildings may be too bright for them to work.Try to locate the sensor (about the diameter of a pencil) on the top of your lights and put a piece of black tape over it. This may darken the receptor enough to make your lights operate normally.

How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :

There is a light sensor Build-in the Lid, the lights work when the lids upside down, because when you upside down the lids, the light sensor sensed the environment was dark,so the lights begin work.
In most instances of solar powered lights not working, it is the batteries at fault. Either they are not receiving charge or they are not holding it. If the lights work using normal batteries then it is clear that the problem is with either the rechargeable batteries or the solar panel.
Manual control: The switch allows the user to turn the light on or off, providing greater control over when the light is used. This can be useful for conserving energy and prolonging the battery life, especially if the user doesn`t plan to use the light for an extended period.
The short answer is – yes! Although direct sunlight is key to charging solar panels, they continue to charge even on cloudy, overcast days. Sol`s innovative lighting systems and products, for example, are designed to work for at least four days with no direct sunlight!
To keep your landscape lights from tilting, you`ll simply level each outdoor light using Light Fixers, lighting stake accessories that use a pivot ball that you thread onto the mounting stakes. The tool operates similarly to a camera tripod, making your lights secure.
Solar panels work best in direct sunlight, but they can also work on cloudy days and in partial shade. This is because photovoltaic (PV) panels use particles of light, called photons, to generate electricity.
Solar lights typically last for between 6 and 10 hours each night and operate for 2 to 5 years. By bringing your solar lights inside during the winter, it is possible to extend their expected lifespan.
So, can you put regular batteries in solar lights? Actually no. Regular batteries like alkaline-based batteries are not a good choice for solar lights, mainly because they are designed to be disposed of when they run out of juice. These batteries obtain energy from the zinc metal and manganese dioxide reaction.
It`s a good idea to replace the batteries in your solar lights regularly; perhaps every year or two. Almost all garden solar lights use low capacity rechargeable batteries. More recently, solar lights will use 1.2V NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries. These newer NiMH batteries replace the old style NiCd version.
So the short answer is yes, as solar lights are waterproof they can be left outside all year round. However a huge factor to consider is what the light is built for; we have a selection, each made for a different purpose.
Your Solar Light`s Battery Needs to Be Charged

If your solar light stopped working or is not performing as it used to, it`s time to replace the old battery with a new one.

You can still use your solar lights even if it rains or shines, but they won`t be as strong as when it recharges on a bright sunny day. Solar lights can power up even with the small streaks of sunlight that pass through the clouds.
It`s not unfounded because adequate energy from the sun must hit the boards before the batteries can get a good charge. However, that doesn`t mean the position must be under direct sunlight. So, yes, solar lights charge in the shade.
Always install your lights with access to direct sunlight

“Direct sunlight” is when the Sun hits your solar panels in a perpendicular fashion. To ensure your solar panel receives direct sunlight, your device should be unobstructed by shade from trees or nearby structures, such as a home`s shadow, overhangs, or trees.

Using Solar Lights Indoors

In theory, solar lights can work indoors, as long as they are being charged by sunlight that can reach them during daylight. This assumes, of course, that the room in question does not already have traditional lighting in place that may be a better solution.

They are maintenance-free and it is absolutely okay to leave them on all night. They automatically switch on at dusk and switch off at sunrise without any manual operation. Charging and discharging every day will help to extend the battery life of your solar unit.
Using Artificial Lighting

Place the solar panels directly underneath a household light to charge them as quickly as possible without sunlight. Place your solar lights as close to the light bulb as possible. The further away it is from an incandescent light bulb, the longer it will take your solar panel to charge.

The quick answer to this is yes. Solar panels can indeed work through glass windows or windshields. However, is it enough for your solar panel to work? While you can utilize Solar panels through glass windows, their effectiveness will be far lower than when installed outside.
What you need to do is dilute it a bit to create a cleaning solution. Get ¼ cup of vinegar and mix it with two cups of water and half a teaspoon of liquid detergent or any non-abrasive soap. Pour that in a spray bottle, and you have yourself a cleaning solution for your solar panels.
A photoreceptor on the light detects when it`s dark and turns on the light, which is usually made up of several light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The battery then supplies electricity to the light throughout the night. This process repeats on a daily cycle.
Thankfully, the lithium-ion batteries used in most modern residential solar power systems last much longer than your average lead-acid battery. A quality lithium-ion solar battery should last between five to fifteen years, depending on how well you look after it and how much you use it.
Strange as this might sound, yes, you can charge a solar battery with a car battery charger; so far, you first make sure that the charger is suitable for your solar battery. To do this, check the specification of your battery to see what type of chargers are compatible with it.
Solar lighting devices are eco-friendly and operate automatically. They turn on when they sense darkness and off at the start of dawn, so, during the day, they are supposed to be off and on at night.
Most solar lights use lithium-ion batteries, which are incredibly volatile and could easily catch fire when overheated or punctured. In most cases, thrifty property owners might find themselves in this situation due to purchasing cheap or inferior solar lights, which increases the risk of overheating and catching fire.

Trying to install a new fluro light, pull out old light to find 3 reds and 3 blacks 1 copper earth. What do I do to connect it up the right way??? When I pulled the old Fluro light out the 3 Reds were joined together with a connector ,two blacks were joined to one end of light wire, the other to the other end of the light wire, earth wire to the light case, the third black wire was connected to the wire from the ballast? Does this all make sense
ANSWER : No, this does not make sense but I have seen strange wiring before. There is power going from the light someplace else. Just connect it back up exactly as the old light was connected. It worked before so it will work again. If it works it is wired correctly. Without being there to check which wire was the hot wire and which was neutral it is impossible for me to say what is what. Make sure you connect the ground wire to the light chassis.

Hi, my tiger river spa does not heat. Filters are clean, jets work, no light installed. On ciruit board, green light for “Lim” , red light for heat, no other lights. Just bought house one month ago, no manuals.
Spa is a Bengal. Have noticed a symbol (can’t tell what it is) on the screen then most of screen goes blank with just the power light on. Is there a vacation mode or something like that?
Thanks for your help.
ANSWER : Spa’s are such that so many components can become faulty when left unattended to over a period of time. But most likely what your unit needs is just a regular service to clean up its systems and also ensure there are no leakages in the pipes. Bengal is a wonderful and durable product. The problem could range from low power supply to wires being eaten up by rats and other pests. Also it could be burnt out heaters thereby the inability to produce heat. The indicator on the screen could mean various things but the screen going blank usually would be caused by poor power supply. If you dont have the technical know how refer an expert to check it out and ensure the exact problem of the above mentioned is wrong with it before repairs can be carried out.Hope this solution has been helpful?

I have the Intex Sand/Pump pool filter Model SF 20110. It’s been running real great for the last 4 months. However recently it has been tripping the internal overloads and I have found the pump motor to be very hot when I put my hand against it. I have tried several different solutions, such as a level ground platform that was clear of any obstructions, made sure that the motor vents under the motor was clear of anything that would prevent air flow. I used a non electrical type of lubricate on the impeller. When I would turn on the pump the rotor would not turn but only would hum very loudly and then slowly begin to turn. I also noticed that the motor’s rotor shaft would not turn to freely due the tightness around the rotor’s shaft. After using the lubricate the shaft would turn a little easier. I used an amp meter on the incoming voltage line and the motor would run at 4.5 amp. And yet it still overheated and tripped the motor overloads. I can only think that the motor is still not getting enough ventilation. I have check and cleared all the incoming lines and found nothing block the pumps input or output lines. Any suggestion?
ANSWER : I just looking into this issue my self. The pump cools itself by a internal fan, which is run by the motor. Well I took the housing cover off to find out all the fan blades have broken off and were setting in the base of the pump. Once you remove the fan blades from covering the air intake, it might be fine. I will find out my self once summer gets here.
