The large rear plastic piece on the rear of my 1999 Coleman Westlake is seperating from the side of the trailer. There is a 1/2 inch gap on the top tapering down to no gap at the bottom. The side is metal and would hold a screw, but the back piece is plastic. Any idea how to fix?

Valance Panel

These can be found on the front, rear or both on most modern cars. Valance panels attach to the underside of the bumpers and resemble streamlined plastic “flaps.” This component serves first to help direct airflow in the pursuit of aerodynamics and second to conceal and protect underside components.

A rear valance, also known as an air dam or rear spoiler, is a panel that runs beneath the bumper and is generally used for aesthetic or aerodynamic reasons.
This plastic panel—known as the engine splash shield, the skid plate, or the under engine cover—is exposed to the elements and can be damaged by debris or bumps in the road. This panel exists to protect the important components underneath your car from damage.
This part is generally called the impact bar, or sometimes reinforcement bar or bumper reinforcer, and, along with the (often styrofoam, sometimes plastic, missing or hidden in your picture) absorber pad, serves the actual safety purpose of a modern bumper.
Rear panels are located towards the rear of the car`s back and can include brake lights, tailgates, bumpers, hatchbacks, and part of the car`s exhaust system. A vehicle`s rear side panels often contain the rear door, and wheel wells that house a car`s rear wheels and suspension components.

A bumper valance, also known as an air dam or rear spoiler, is a panel located below the bumper, usually installed for decorative or aerodynamic purposes.
Also known as bumper air dams, front bumper air deflectors are installed to improve the aerodynamics of the car for better speed. Usually mistaken for splitters, the front bumper air deflectors in a vehicle are different.

Rear Bumper Rebar is a metal bar that reinforces the rear bumper and is helpful in absorbing high-speed collision energy.
Bumpers are a prime example of a part that was once metal that is now plastic. Most bumpers, both front and rear, are plastic and are affixed to the metal frame of the car. As such, they do tend to get damaged quite easily.
Most OEM bumpers are made out of plastic and feature an aluminum or steel reinforcement bar hidden in the middle. Some bumpers may also contain polypropylene in order to help absorb energy during an impact.
Bumpers of most modern automobiles have been made of a combination of polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) called PC/ABS.
