How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :

The starting point of firing and the mechanism of firing is the trigger. When the trigger is pulled via the trigger mechanism, the hammer is released. The hammer strikes the firing pin or primer directly (depending on the firing mechanism). The projectile passes through a long hollow tube called as the barrel.
A squib load, also known as a squib round, pop and no kick, or just a squib, is a firearm malfunction in which a fired projectile does not have enough force behind it to exit the barrel, and thus becomes stuck.
Rifling: The spiral grooves cut or swaged inside a gun barrel that gives the bullet a spinning motion. The metal between the grooves is called a “land”.
Most pistol bullets are made of a lead-antimony alloy encased in a soft brass or copper-plated soft steel jacket. In rifle and machine-gun bullets, a soft core of lead is encased in a harder jacket of steel or cupronickel.
Automatic rifles are a type of rifle that uses self-reloading mechanism to allow continuous fire without having to manually load every bullet provided there are still rounds in the chamber. There are two main types of automatic rifles: fully-automatic and semi-automatic.
But even when you do everything right, your handgun can still malfunction. The common and generally accepted malfunctions are referred to as follows: Type 1, a failure to feed or fire; Type 2, a stovepipe (failure to eject); and Type 3, a double feed.
The Type IV AR-15 Malfunction is a case stuck in the chamber. To clear this, you have to bang the rear of the stock against something solid while pulling back on the charging handle. This generates the force needed to pull the case free—or it will rip it, which means it`s going to take time and tools to fix.
Although Glock pistols are famously reliable, they can still jam. If this happens, there are several steps you can take to clear the jam and get your pistol back up and running. First, try to clear the jam by rapping the bottom of the magazine sharply on a hard surface a few times.
A bullet isn`t likely to go off when you drop the cartridge for various reasons, including how it lands. Most dropped bullets land tip first on a floor or the ground. When this happens, the bullet will land in a way that prevents the impact from being sufficiently forceful to cause the bullet to fire.
A centerfire bullet can travel several miles. Small shot can travel 200-350 yards. Larger shot can travel over 600 yards. Slugs can travel over 800 yards.
If fired vertically into the air, a bullet can reach a height of up to around 2 miles. But because of the various forces acting on a projectile that is fired in this way, the shooter is extremely unlikely to be hit by one of his own bullets as it comes back down.
Lead has long been the primary metal used for ammunition because of its mass and malleability, but lead is an extraordinarily toxic element.
Blanks are shell casings loaded with gunpowder. They lack the deadly bullet point, which is usually replaced with cotton or paper wadding. When blanks are discharged, they create the sound of gunfire, and the gunpowder combusts, causing a muzzle flash.
In general, however, a true AK-47 has a fully automatic setting, which is illegal in the United States. Models with semi-automatic settings are available and legal in the U.S. Manufacturers cannot make or import fully automatic weapons for the civilian market. But you can still legally buy a fully automatic AK-47.
Glock switches: Illegal devices that turn pistols into machine guns.
This Type 2 malfunction occurs when a firearm fails to properly extract the spent casing from the chamber. It can be caused by a number of reasons, which include an overly-dirty chamber, a broken extractor claw, and a case rim failure.
A Type 3 malfunction / double feed is just that: Two rounds of ammunition are jammed into the chamber at the same time. This can be caused by one of two things: The magazines or ammunition for your gun don`t work reliably, and feed more than one round at a time into the chamber of your gun.
What Causes A Gun To Misfire? The most common reason a misfire occurs is because of an “insufficient indent”, a primer that was not struck with enough force. A primer may get hit once and not go off.
According to Weeks` primer data (99.9997 percent reliability), you might hit one every 300,000 rounds. That said, our experience at Black Hills does not indicate that high of a misfire rate.
Slamfire is the discharge of a firearm that occurs as a cartridge is being loaded into the chamber. It can occur in some firearms either by design or due to a malfunction. Generally, “slam-fire” is used to describe a premature, unintended discharge of a firearm that occurs as a round is being loaded into the chamber.
Primary categories of Malfunctions include Failure to Fire, Failure to Feed (FTF), Failure to Extract, and Failure to Eject a cartridge. Some other concerns are failure to fully cycle after firing and failure of a handgun to lock back when empty.
Your GLOCK pistol should be cleaned and lubricated: When it`s brand new, before it`s fired for the first time. After each time it`s fired. At least once a month, if it hasn`t been used in that time.
If you want a Glock with a little more punch, try out the Glock 32. In the 1990s, Sig Sauer designed a new bullet—the . 357 Sig. The round was designed to avoid jamming issues, while being more powerful than a standard 9mm bullet.

I bought a new mossberg 590 a1 shot gun a month ago, I love the gun but its having a couple of problems, the first problem is that when shooting every once in a while i get sprayed in the face with exuast from shooting through the safety very scary! any ideas whats causing this? how to fix it? second is that some times the fireing pin sticks and the gun will not discharge a round? the third problem is that i have had feeding issues with gun where it will not realice a gound from the tube, ive taken a tip of a knife to the stuck round in the tube and it prys out with little effort, these problems dont happen every time i go shooting, just every once in a while, but they a happening more and more, im conserned cause the gun is brand new, and i wanna be safe while shooting, can you guys help me? any ideas/solutions? please help!!!!!!!
ANSWER : Personally, with that many problems, I’d call Mossberg and get a return authorization. None of these things should be happening, especially with a new gun.

Don’t know if it’s a primer failure or absence of powder. Primer CCI small pistol; Powder Bullseyie; Bullet 148 grain wadcutter; powder 3 grains, Gun S & W 14,This has happpened three times in the last month. The gun did not fire. I couiold not turn the cylinder. The bullet stopped the cylinder from turning. It was pushed back with a god and casing and bullet were separated. The primer was spent and there was no powder inside. The bullet seemed a little burnt.
Maybe there had been powder inside after all?
The popular theory is that I pulled the cssing after adding the powder, weighed the powder and then forgot to reload the powdeer before seating the bullet. But three times? Is there another possible explanation or explanations? I use a three-turret Lee reloader and there is an occasional primer seating problem; it doesn’t go in far enough always
ANSWER : I have seen this many many times before when I used to reload, my Remington M788 22-250. If inadvertently, didn’t add any powder, the primer had enough force to just break the seal, with the brass, and push the bullet out, just into the throat of the chamber… had to use my cleaning rod, to push the bullet back out. Sometimes, too the powder itself, just went stoopid, and it would burn? and not explode, if that’s at all possible, and every now and then, and this is over thousands of reloads, sometimes one or two, just didn’t work, would either jam in the barrel, or fallout the end ..lol I too used to use a Lee-loader too. You need to ensure that every case has powder. Also I have had “Bad” primers too. A primer has a large amount of force.. believe it or not.. and also 3 grains of powder is NOT a lot either. Well compared to the M788,anyway… It would be easy to “Miss” a Fill. We are all only human though.

Ok, so last week one of my airsoft guns, the Crosman Stinger R39, and part of the cocking mechanism broke to where it can not be pulled back, and the Airsoft pellet cannot be loaded into the chamber. so I took it apart, to get the other half of the cocking mechanism. I then proceeded to fix it (with gorilla apoxy) and let it dry until today. a little while ago, I put it back together, tried to **** it back, and – SNAP – it broke….. again. is there a place to buy replacement parts replacement parts for it?
ANSWER : My cocking bolt broke too and now i cant find a replacement for it 🙁

I have a tippmann custom pro with a cyclone feeder. I recently got the SAW stock to put on it and encountered some problems many times after I reassembled the gun. I took it apart at least 5 times before I thought it was fixed but now ive encountered another problem. I believe it has to do with the cyclone feeder not responding or something is out of line in the gun. When I picked up the gun to shoot, no paint came out so I took off the CO2 and the barrel and saw that the paintball was 1/3 inside the gun. I also have a problem when im shooting it sometimes does really fast burst. Thank you
ANSWER : Hi there. Tippmann markers are super tough to make sure that they are put back together properly. The stupid clamshell design plus all the little, under engineered parts make it difficult to get it back together properly, especially after installing a stock. I was in the paintball industry for 10 years but have been out of it for a little bit, but i was one of the founding members of Uprising Nation and was a gunsmith/ salesman for PaintballOnline.com / Xtremes. Now with that said…I even had trouble with the tippmann 98’s…and I can rebuild an autococker with my eyes closed but can sometimes be stumped by the tippy’s bad design. It is really tough to diagnose an issue on these guns without looking at it. You may have the ball detent backwards,l missing a pin, sometimes the after market stocks on those are a little too large on the outside diameter preventing the internals from properly seating. The cycloce system may be off due to the valves not meing properly aligned or the connecting rod not being in all the way. Many times though it is incorrect installation of the detent or the deternt gets damages. That little orange peice of **** flap is a mance. I would start there.

It may seem like i am bashing your gun. Im not… Once they are put together properly they work great. Just DONT TAKE THEM APART. lol. If you buy the parts at a local gun shop they will install them for free.

lol I have 6 guns for sale 🙂

Have a good day

My gun just beeps when i pull the trigger even when hooked up to hpa.battery is new.last time i used the gun just before it messed up i had it hooked to o2 and it would fire then beep ,i have a anti syphon tube installed to. the air shot out the asa instead of the reg when i took off the tank.usually gun holds air with tank off then you shoot it to get rid of stored air, this time it shot out the asa????
ANSWER : You have probably messed up your solenoid, did you fire the marker straight up with the o2? I would make sure that all of the board settings are back to factory default especially the dwell and reattempt with compressed air. If the marker is still not firing get your hands on a new solenoid for it.

This is the izh 513m .177 rifle. It’s brand new. I am not sure as of what to do and the hammer want budge and the trigger won’t pull. The barrel has no tension and it won’t go up like its supposed to.
ANSWER : This could be a factory safety that the hammer and trigger do not move while in the cocked position. The barrel may be locking down purposely. Look near the spring or in the path of the barrel where it folds back up and look for a release button. What do you see?
