anently attached. How can I remove them so I can replace the elastic cord?

Experienced athletes share their insights in answering this question:
Those stretchy tent poles are at walmart, real cheap, Buy a couple and you will have a spare. If you want to fix the old one, I would try a couple solvents to loosen the glue, then remove the tip. Goo gone, or one of those to start, then move up to the mineral spirits, then the laquer thinner, If that doesn’t do it, Nothing this side of fire will do it. Laq thinner is the strongest solvent available. Be carefull.

How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :

1) Thread through first pole and tie off one end of the elastic to sop it pulling through.. 2)Thread through remaining poles one at a time until the length of elastic is too short to go through the remaining poles without stretching.
Tent poles are tensioned with shock cock – an elastic cord that helps the tent poles snap back together and keep their shape. Over time the elastic in the shock cord can deteriorate causing it to slump and eventually it will make your poles very hard and almost impossible to use.
Gently push cord thorough entire length of pole, then tie off at one end (either just a knot or attached to pole tip. Then to tension the shock cord, pull out about 25% the total length of the pole in slack (for a 10ft pole pull out 2-3ft) and tie off at the pole end.
2.5mm diameter shock cord to repair your broken poles.
The easiest and quickest way to fix a broken pole is with a pole repair sleeve. Also called a splint, this short tube is often provided with your tent. If not, buy one and pack it with you. A good pole repair sleeve is just slightly larger in diameter than your pole so that it doesn`t move around too much.
Shock and elastic cords may be made out of similar materials, but shock cord has a longer stretch or elongation than that of elastic cord. Shock cord has a 100% elongation or can stretch to double its original length, while elastic cord has a 50% elongation or can stretch to one and a half times its original length.

If you go to image 2 it shows it with out the fly. now if you got 2 sets of 4 poles, 2 long and 2 short, and one set is all aluminum, then I would go with the aluminum set. My basketball hoop broke and I have a pole cemented in the ground. Can you buy just the hoop/backboard itself and attach to the pole or do I have to cut the pole and start over?
ANSWER : Sorry I know nothing about basketball but it seems a crying shame to cut down the pole even if you can’t find a replacement hoop and board.

I have faced many similar things and I find remembering the wise old saying “in order to get the right answer it is important to first ask the right question”…

I suggest you ask around those who should know such things – the coach at the local schools, local teams. If you don’t get satisfaction then why not ask your local repair shop or fabricator if they can make what you need at a reasonable cost.
