Barnett crossbows are equipped with an automatic anti-dry fire safety mechanism, which engages every time the crossbow is cocked. An arrow must be loaded into the flight track to release the safety and the safety must be disengaged or in the “off/ fire” position before each shot.

Yes. Periodically apply a drop of TenPoint`s Flight Rail and Trigger Lubricant to your wheels or cams and axles when needed. Also, lubricate the cam bearings if you have a reverse draw crossbow, especially if the bow has gotten wet from being outside.
In general, it is not a safe practice to dry-fire your crossbow. Your crossbow is equipped with a DFI (Dry-Fire-Inhibitor) mechanism. In the event you forget to load an arrow into the crossbow but attempt to take a shot, the string will be caught by the DFI, which helps to prevent damage to the bow assembly.
Recent research has confirmed the experiments of the 1970s, that 2mm of medieval plate armour could resist any medieval arrow or crossbow.

Re: Hunting In The Rain
There is no difference in point of impact. I have hunted with crossbows for over 35 years and have never seen any difference in accuracy. Also I only use feathers for hunting and there is no difference with them as well. Yes feathers look terrible when wet, but they work just as well wet as dry.
Metals, lubricants and polymer components that work fine at room temperatures have a tendency to fail when exposed to severe cold, which is why the U.S. Army located its Arctic Test Center at Ft. Greeley. It`s the same with crossbows.

If you don`t care about hitting a target, a powerful modern crossbow can shoot as far as 500 yards. If you want to hunt, up to 80 yards is possible for a very skilled shooter, however you should stick to a maximum of 60 yards, and preferably much less than that (30-35) if you are a beginner.
One way you accomplish improved accuracy is with increased speed. Faster equals flatter-shooting, with less margin for error and less guesswork on range estimation required. Sound travels at 1,100 fps, but even the fastest crossbow bolts fly at less than half that.
An assembled bow and/or arrow are not allowed in carry-on baggage and must also be transported as checked luggage. TSA recommends they be transported in a hard-sided cases. Bear spray is not permitted in either checked or carry-on luggage.
For most crossbows, reliable accuracy under hunting conditions is assured out to 40 yards, but beyond that crossbow accuracy begins to fall off for a number of reasons, including wind deflection, loss of arrow speed and shooter error.
Never carry your cocked hunting crossbow into the woods with an arrow loaded. Most modern crossbows are built to be safely carried into the woods when cocked, but only if the crossbow is unloaded.
