Causes of exercise bike noise include the surface on which the bike is placed and riding the bike incorrectly. Mechanical causes include worn bearings and belts or loose belts and other parts. Some exercise bike noise during operation is normal; the friction of the parts rubbing together creates some amount of noise.

There are a few reasons why your bike might make a clunking noise when you pedal hard. It could be that the chain is loose and needs to be tightened, the pedals could be loose, or there could be something wrong with the bottom bracket. If the chain is loose, it will make a rattling noise as it hits the frame.
Loose cables within your exercise bike may be the cause of your display not working, or you may not have enough power going to the machine itself. Make sure to check that your power adapter is plugged in properly or replace the batteries.
What is it? A whining sound coming from your motor when riding your ebike is likely an indicator that the internal planetary gears are not sufficiently greased. Some motor noise is expected and should sound like a gentle to moderate hum.
If you do not get any power to the display then you should start with the battery as well as all the connectors. Check if your battery has an on/off switch. If so, ensure the switch is on. You may also have a blown fuse in the battery itself.
Clunking
If the clunk happens when you drive over bumps, there might be a problem with your car`s suspension, or part of the exhaust could be loose. However, if your car clunks when you`re turning corners, it could be a problem with the steering, wheels and tyres, or a worn-out wheel bearing.
Most of the time, the true cause is a loose chainring bolt—tighten them up and that`ll quiet most creaks. After you check the chainring bolts and if you still hear the noise, look at your pedals, crank bolts, seatpost, and seat. By checking these first, you`ll save an hour of digging into your bottom bracket.
Common exercise bike problems include noises, belt slipping, errors, monitor display not working, locked pedals, and resistance issues. You may need tools like a screwdriver or Allen wrench to fix them.

My swimming pool. I have just had my fifth IC 40 Intellichlor chlorine generator installed in 4 years at a cost of over $900 today. Each one has worked for no more than 8 months. The first three were replaces under three year warranty, the fourth by a factory rep and I bought the fifth today. The first three all failed with Flow Chk PCB error message. The fourth just stopped working on Sunday, no power or lights. A local Pentair warranty person, whom I paid a Service Call, unplugged the unit, opened the small power center cover, showed me the green light indicating that there was power, plugged in a new IC 40 which worked immediately (as did the other four). I asked if I should replace the power center and he said that it’s basically just a transformer and is working fine. We do get occasional power blips that make the clocks on microwaves, etc blink, but I thought that the power center essentially isolates the cell from these. I do have a Florida Power and Light surge protector on the electrical box that brings power into the house. I have now talked to the pool builder, two Pentair warranty repairmen and one factory rep. I am at a loss. They all tell me they have no idea why these units fail after less than a year. This last IC 40 was installed 3/24/2010, version 2.0 and now failed in less than 5 months. Should I replace the power center that the IC 40 plugs into. Any other suggestions. I have been told that this is the best chlorinator. I don’t want to keep replacing units. By the way, each unit had been spotless inside. I keep the water chemicals and salt levels at ideal levels. The units have never worked long enough to get dirty inside. The power center is connected to an Intellitouch control system outside with an indoor control panel. Last time I called Pentair North Carolina and got some smart alec tech person that had no suggestions. Please Help if you can.

I have a Health Stream recumbent exercise bike – it is now making a very loud noise and appears to be scraping a bit. I think it is ~8-10 years old and has never been serviced. Do these bikes need to be oiled and if so where on the bike? I am a 60 yo partially disabled man who needs to exercise on such a bike – it is in good condition and has been used reguarly for years. Are you able to provide me with advice? I live in Australia.

My 2005 predator is making a weird grinding noise. It runs fine and goes into every gear good. It’s a little slow on start up. And just when i let off the gas it makes a noise like a chain hitting the case of the engine any help? Also sometimes when driving it makes a noise like a chain is slapping something.
ANSWER : Need to know if it’s a predator for 50 or 90 the drive trains very a lot if its grinding its most likely ball bearings or roller go to Polaris ATV they have diagrams and parts at a reasonable price 🙂

Hayward heater 100id – less than a year old. When the pump is low setting (3 gpm) the heater makes a whining high pitched noise. It fires and heats but makes the noise, only when the burners click on. ON the high setting, from the pump, no noise at all. I just put in a new filter cartridge too.
ANSWER : This could be your gas line if you have a flex gas feed to the heater. They are normally to small and will wistel.

I just purchased this Yamaha boat w/Twin MR-1 140hp motors, less than 100hrs (60 prox)and the starboard motor only reached 8000rpm on a 10000 redline spec (the port motor reaches 10000rpm. I have replaced the spark plugs immediatly and now the motor reaches 9500rpm. When the plugs were replaced the plug wire top of the plugs had a black powder residue (like graphite)and #1 & 4 plug electrode end were black minimal soot and #2 & #3 had a white color residue on the ceramic.
Any suggestions to attain the full 10000rpm?
A Yamaha dealer is 100 miles, so I would like to fix myself if possible. Thanks
