How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :

To measure your draw length, stand with your back to a wall stretching your arms out against the wall. Measure the distance from the end of your middle finger to the end of your other middle finger, basically the length of both arms, hands and chest. This measurement, minus 15 then divided by 2, is your draw length.
DRAW WEIGHTS ARE ±2 POUNDS & ROUNDED TO NEAREST 1/2 POUND.
All of PSE`s compound bows are proudly made in America at their Tucson, AZ production facility.
In order to measure a bow`s draw weight, you need a bow weight scale. You can find scales specifically designed for this purpose in archery stores and online. If you happen to purchase your own digital scale, simply attach it to the bowstring, pull it back, and read the weight on the scale.
Weight adjustments can easily be made by turning the weight adjustment bolt or limb bolt (tiller bolt on recurve bows) clockwise to increase weight or counter clockwise to decrease weight. You should always turn the top and bottom adjustment bolts in equal amounts.
With a hunting bow, I highly recommend a draw length that is one inch shorter than what you use for target shooting. This reduced length will give you a lower shoulder set and align your bow shoulder a little to the outside. This set up will allow a much better string clearance for your arm.
The standard of 60 to 70 lbs is more than enough for North American big game. However, there are some folks who want to pull 80 to 90 lbs of draw weight. There is nothing wrong with this at all for them.
PSE Archery, Inc. is a privately owned American archery supply company which has developed, designed, and manufactured bows, arrows, and other equipment since 1971.
The PSE Bow Madness is an excellent mid-level bow that has a top-end speed of just under 340 FPS. This bow has an ultra-smooth draw and contains a three-track binary cam system to produce incredible speed.
Today`s bows are extremely efficient and 40lb compound bows are more than capable of harvesting many big game animals. For whitetail deer hunting anything above 40 lbs is fine. For larger game such as elk or moose a good recommendation is at least 60-65 lbs of draw weight.
Choose a recurve bow which has a draw weight of 40 pounds minimum. Now, you can hunt perfectly well for smaller game like turkey and rabbit with a 35 or even 30 lbs. bow, but for anything larger than that (deer, elk) you`ll need 40 lbs. or more.
Draw weight is a measurement of the force required to draw a bow. Bows with higher draw weights generate faster arrow speeds by transferring more energy to the arrow. The result is a flatter trajectory, deeper penetration, and greater likelihood of pass-through shots when bowhunting.
Pull-Ups. The latissimus dorsi is the upper body`s largest muscle, and pull-ups are the best exercise to strengthen it. This muscle is used throughout the bow-drawing process, making it a critical component of increasing your draw weight. Most retail stores sell pull-up bars that conveniently mount inside a doorway.
It affects not only the speed and power of the arrow, but also the accuracy of the shot. A bow with a higher draw weight will produce faster arrows, but it will also require more strength to draw the bowstring back, which can lead to fatigue and reduce accuracy.
Calculate your approximate draw length

Measure the distance to get your wingspan in CM or INCH. If you measured in CM you need to convert this to INCH by dividing the length in cm by 2.54. The formula is: Draw Length = (Wingspan in INCH – 15) / 2.

The longer your draw length, the longer your bow`s powerstroke will be – and the faster your bow will shoot. As a general rule, 1″ of draw length is worth about 10 fps of arrow velocity.
Three of the most important factors that directly affect arrow speed is draw weight, draw length, and the weight of your arrows. At a glance – if you increase draw length, increase draw weight, and/or use lighter arrows, you`ll experience an increase in arrow speed.
On a compound bow, the draw length is measured from the nocking point to the deepest part of the grip, and then add 1 3/4 inch. A bow`s draw length is often indicated with its other specs somewhere on the equipment. But it`s always a good idea to measure just to confirm.
The average height shooter (5`10”) will most likely have a 28” draw length.
Archers with a 27-inch draw length might shoot arrows anywhere from 26 to 29 inches long, depending on where your arrow rest is mounted, and how much arrow extends in front of the riser when you`re at full draw. Use the arrow length you intend to shoot when consulting the spine charts.
To determine your proper draw length, stand upright, spread your arms out to the side and have someone measure your wingspan between the fingertips of your middle fingers. Then, divide that measurement by 2.5. In archery, consistency is the key to accuracy.
2. Draw length: A longer draw length creates a longer power stroke than a shorter draw length, allowing the bow to store more energy. The rule of thumb was that for every added inch of draw length, you increase raw arrow speed approximately 10-15 fps.
Immortalized by the Mongols during the 3rd-century onwards, the Mongolian recurve bow is widely considered one of the most powerful, and deadly, bows in history.
Increasing weight on a recurve bow should happen on a biweekly (every two weeks) basis in order to avoid injury. And the increase in weight should only be about half a turn increase on the tiller bolts every two weeks.

Help! Just bought a Remington 30 06 for my grandson that has a Bushnell Sportview U4124 4-12power scope mounted on it. I would like to sight it in at 100 yards using a 180 grain shell but I don’t have the owners manual and I don’t understand an on line explanation that I found. This is the on line message: “You’ll see two horizontal crosshairs, put the top one on the animals back then zoom in until the bottom one is on his stomach. Look at the numbers on the zoom dial there should be three lines they are D – deer, E – elk and A – antelope. The numbers are the distance to the game, you then turn the external elevation knob or turret to the matching distance and shoot dead on. No need to hold over for bullet drop. The sad part will be if you didn’t get the other turrets that would have come with it as they are calibrated to different calibers and bullet weights”
I don’t understand how to set the elevation knob to 100yards when its lowest shown number is 150. If I need other turrets how or where can I get them? Thanks, a frustrated grandfather.
