I bought this unit used and the scoreboard and timer do no work. I called Escalade Sports already, but they do not carry parts for this anymore and they are unwilling to help. I'm assuming it's a problem with the electronic controller as the air works just fine, but the scoreboard, speaker, and timer do not turn on. I would really like to fix this. I even asked Escalade Sports if they could send me a manual scoreboard with sliders from another unit, but they have nothing compatible, or so they say.

Clean off the fan and reinstall. Sometimes the motor will automatically shut off as a safety feature. Check the underside of the motor for a reset button. If this reset button has been triggered, your air hockey table should power up just fine after you push the button and pop it in back in.
The upper pair goes to an infrared phototransistor, while the lower right pair goes to an infrared LED. This circuit forms the goal sensor to detect when the puck has landed in the goal. The low-powered phototransistor is amplified through the BC549 NPN transistor, which lights the LED.
Use clear epoxy to fill a dent in the surface. Allow the epoxy to set up slightly so it won`t run down into the air channel. If necessary, use putty underneath to keep the epoxy from running down. Fill to the surface level and allow to harden.
The Harvard Action Arena 7` Air Hockey Table is one of the best air hockey tables made by the company. Along with an attractive exterior, the table also offers a great gaming experience. It has a 110V motor which allows the puck to glide smoothly from one corner of the table to another.

The original idea was to create a miniature hockey game that involved a frictionless surface that a puck could float on. Using ice as the surface was obviously out of the question so an air table came about and the rest is history. 1.
In hockey, the game clock is the main clock used to keep track of the time left in the current period. Hockey games consist of three periods. The average NHL hockey game length is about 60 minutes. There are three 20-minute periods in a game with intermissions after the first and second periods.
A player drives the shoulder, upper arm and hip and elbow, equally into the opponent to separate him from the puck, using the body to knock an opponent against the boards or to the ice. This is often referred to as simply checking or hitting and is only permitted against an opponent with possession of the puck.
Magnetic air hockey works in a similar way to regular air hockey. However, it contains one key difference. Before the start of a game, both players select a couple of areas on the board to magnetize.
Air hockey is pretty straightforward: first player to score seven points wins the round. Best out of seven rounds wins the game.
Air hockey tables typically come in two different types: large-puck models and small-puck models. The large-puck models include full-size pucks that are around 3 ¼ inches in diameter. Small-puck air hockey games feature smaller pucks and tend to cost less than the large-puck styles.

When the air hockey table is turned off, there is no air from the holes to raise the puck above the surface of the table. Because of this, there is much more static friction between the puck`s surface and the table`s surface, making it a lot more difficult to play the game.
