How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :

30-30 Winchester (officially named the . 30 Winchester Center Fire or . 30 WCF) cartridge was first marketed for the Winchester Model 1894 lever-action rifle in 1895.
30-30 was among the first cartridges utilizing smokeless gunpowder. It was introduced by Winchester in 1895 in its Model 94 lever action rifle which was the product of famed gun designer John Browning. Shooting a 160-grain jacketed bullet at almost 2,000 feet per second, it was a speed demon at the time.
In sheer popularity, all must bow to the Winchester Model 1894. More than 7 million were made over its more than 100-year production life, and countless deer and other game animals have been felled by John Browning`s most enduring lever action design.
The serial number will be on the receiver. While older units may have either the entire serial number on all the major parts, or the last 4 digits of it on parts than the receiver, the one that counts is the numbers on the receiver.
Over seven million Model 94s were produced and sold.
These Special Short Carbines, as the factory called them, are exceedingly rare, were never cataloged, and were ultimately discontinued in 1933. In 1924, the rifle was discontinued and the saddle ring was eliminated on the carbine in 1932, although it still could be special ordered up until 1942.
30/30 Is All You Need (If You Know How to Hunt) The average successful rifle shot at big-game critters no more than 100 yards (probably less). At that distance, your typical 150-grain . 308 Winchester hunting bullet penetrates about 19 inches and deforms to a frontal diameter of around 0.55 inch.
A standard Winchester carbine is valued at a few hundred dollars at most, but these unique carbines that have a much-shorter than usual 15-inch barrel are worth a couple of thousand at least. For instance, this early 20th century model 1892 trapper recently sold for $7,475 at auction.
The venerable Winchester Model 94 lever-action rifle was discontinued, along with the Model 70 boltaction rifle and the Model 1300 pump-action shotgun. U.S. Repeating Arms and its Belgian parent company, Fabrique National, determined that production in the New Haven, Connecticut, plant was no longer feasible.
The . 32 Winchester Special (or . 32 WS) is a rimmed cartridge created in October 1901 for use in the Winchester Model 94 lever-action rifle.
Today, Winchester sells the Model `94 in four configurations and three different calibers including . 30-30, . 38-55 and . 450 Marlin (the last is known as the Model 94 Trails End Takedown).
We also fired a group at 200 yards for comparison. At that distance, the average was 8 inches for three shots. The maximum effective range of this rifle on deer-sized game is probably limited to 150 yards or so.
The Winchester Model 94 . 30–30 caliber carbine version with a 20″ barrel holds 5 rounds in the tube magazine and 1 round in the chamber. The full size rifle version holds 7 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber.
30-30 Winchester, 20″ Barrel, 7+1 Rounds.
There were only 132 One of One Thousand rifles produced in the Winchester 1873 Model, and a scant eight of the Model 1873 One of One Hundreds– only six of which are known today.
30-30s will only hold five rounds (although some hold six, and older models hold more). Ammunition used in . 30-30s has a round or flat nose, thus allowing it to be loaded into the tubular magazine without the fear of an accidental discharge.
45-70 Govt is much more powerful than the . 30-30, which isn`t too surprising considering their differences in external dimensions. With all that said though, it`s important to note that the . 30-30 Winchester has a flatter trajectory with less bullet drop.
30/30 is considered a 150-yard deer cartridge, the flat-nose and round-nose bullets share much of the blame. Muzzle velocity is one thing. Maintaining that velocity is another. And aerodynamically inefficient flat and round nose bullets do a lousy job of this.
The . 30-378 Weatherby Magnum is a long range cartridge. It is the most powerful – in terms of energy – . 30 caliber production cartridge available.
30-30 Winchester rounds – on average – achieve a velocity of about 2370 feet per second (fps) while . 308 Winchester rounds travel at a velocity of 2680 fps.
Some of the hardest to find and most expensive bullets include: 30-30 Winchester: Popular among hunters, this caliber is in high demand and difficult to track down. Even if you can find it, the price is steep, ranging between $1 and $2.45 per round, depending on the seller. .
His pride and joy was the revolutionary Winchester repeating rifle, one of the first guns to fire rounds repeatedly, taking away the cumbersome need to stop and reload. The Winchester became an icon of the American frontier – used by cowboys, Native Americans, outlaws, sheriffs and even President Theodore Roosevelt.
30-30. It is widely believed that the . 30-06 is America`s—and the world`s—most popular hunting caliber.

The following is Wisner’s rendition & info on the subject.
The difference in the old firing pin and the new one is as follows. The old replaced
style, was totally lathe tuned (round). While the new recall style is similar in lathe
turning on the front and back, but in the front midsection it has two flats milled, one
on each side. This makes the center section stronger. Also replaced is the bolt sleeve
lock pin (firing pin guide) which was made to accommodate this different shaped firing
pin
Part number for the new parts are, firing pin =1391ND, bolt sleeve locking pin =1491ND
The word was at the time this recall was in process was that if the firing pin would
break at the mid section and still remain in the gun as two pieces, the possibility of a
premature discharge before the bolt was locked was possible. This apparently was caused
by the firing pin tip (now not having a retracting spring) to be stuck forward, and
thereby slam-firing upon chambering.
The responsibility for the recall apparently was on Olin, as they were the parent company
at time of manufacture. Olin set up regional recall centers at three established US
gunshops. There was a manufacturing delay in the replacement firing pins, and a backlog
occurred, also some collectors did not like the idea of shipping their guns long
distances. Olin then also authorized other gunshops to make the required alterations.
Upon completion of the recall, the shops were to test fire the firearm and to stamp an
assigned letter on the inside top of the receiver as seen thru the magazine well with the
bolt retracted. The letter “B” represented Bolsa Gunsmithing, “L” was Lefever, and “N”
was for Nu-line Guns. The letter “X” apparently was for all the other independent shops.
However this identification information did not get communicated to some of the smaller
shops at the start of the project. The only way to tell if the gun as been modified, if
the ”letter” is not present, is to take the barrel & action out of the stock, remove the
trigger guard assembly and the try to rotate the firing pin by twisting it. If it does
NOT rotate, then the firing pin recall HAS been performed.

I own a Winchester Model 94, American Bald Eagle, commemorative 375, Big bore XTR never been fired and in the original box, SN ABE 1866.
Question: I can not find any info on line or otherwise regarding this rifle. I believe it was manufactured in New Haven, Conn. by the Olin Corp/US repeating arms co. I’ve been all over trying to get some info….Apparently the 375 Winchester is a mystery. I even have a hard time finding ammo. And I’m curious about the value of this beautiful rifle. I’d be grateful for any info or direction that you could provide.
Many Thanks

ANSWER : It’s worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Which is another way of say, book value is great, but only if someone is willing to offer that. http://www.firearmspriceguide.com/guns/search/winchester/ gives a broad idea of the range of prices, but makes no specific mention of the Limited Edition walmart model.
