Our favourite is Loctite Super Glue All Plastics. This specialty super glue is designed for plastics, including the hard-to-bond-to polypropylene and polyethylene. It comes with an activator which you apply first and need to allow to dry for 60 seconds.

Squeeze glue over the area you wish to reinforce. The glue should form a visible layer over the area. If you are reinforcing a crack, make sure there`s glue around the crack too. The further you spread the glue, the bigger the reinforced area will be.

Plastic Welding with Heat

If you have two separate pieces of plastic that need to be joined or if you have a crack, then you`ll need to do some plastic welding. The basic idea is to apply heat to the edges being joined in order to melt the plastic until it is liquid enough to blend the edges together.

Epoxy is a great choice when it comes to bonding plastics, as it will create a strong adhesive bond. Epoxy adhesives augment the structural strength of the plastic and also, provide chemical resistance.
Glass and Carbon:

Carbon and glass are commonly used material additives that add structural integrity, toughness, and rigidity to a thermoplastic. They are helpful when a part needs to support weight or endure a harsh environment for extensive periods.

Melting, twisting, or burning of plastic under high temperature causes the material to deform. On the other hand, extreme cold temperature can cause the plastic to get brittle. Chemical Failure: Excessive exposure to any chemical can lead to plastic failure.
Many plastics can be welded such as acrylic or polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), polycarbonate (PC), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PETE or PET), polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), acrylonitrile-butadiene-Styrene (ABS).
The “gluing” together of plastic (polycarbonate, polystyrene or ABS) models is also a solvent welding process. Dichloromethane (methylene chloride) can solvent weld polycarbonate and polymethylmethacrylate. It is a primary ingredient in some solvent cements.
A soldering iron can be used on plastic for repair or artistic purposes. When the plastic casing for an object gets cracked, many people simply replace the object.
Cyanoacrylates (super glues), the juggernauts in the industry, bond to several plastic types, but it struggles with polypropylene and polyethylene plastics. The “low surface energy” of these materials makes it difficult for the adhesive to bond to the plastic`s surface.
It contains unreactive carbon chains, which are covalent bonds that hold atoms together so tightly it takes a high amount of force and energy to pull them apart.
Hot melt glue works well with several types of plastic, and gives a durable bond. It can be used to fasten plastic to, for example, plastic, tiles and wood, with the advantage that you avoid drilling or nailing, and thereby damaging surfaces. Hot melt glue can also be used to repair various plastic objects.

Continuous application of pressure during heating and cooling forms a molecular bond between the two parts. Consequently, plastic welded joints are strong, unlike other plastic joining processes such as adhesives and riveting.
Hot air plastic welding is the process of joining two or more plastic surfaces together using hot air, usually applied by a heat gun. Plastic products can`t always be made in one piece. It is often better and more economical to fabricate products as separate pieces.
Weldable Plastics

A thermoset material can`t be welded because it can`t be re-melted. Thermoplastics are what you`ll be welding, because they can re-melted and re-shaped more than once.

First, there are two primary groups of plastics, thermosets which are not weldable, and thermoplastics which generally are weldable. Don`t try to weld thermosets, they won`t melt. Basically, different thermoplastics cannot be welded together. Only the same materials can be welded successfully.
Cyanoacrylates, acrylics, epoxies, urethanes, elastomers and silicones all reliably bond plastics to metals.” “These are two-part, room temper- ature curing adhesives applied using a dual-cartridge dispenser,” says Small.

We are assembling your Competition Series XL Power Lift basketball hoop, Model #71523. The manual does not include dimensions for the following parts:

that it would be simple to install, with very little effort, and I did
make the mistake of believing those sales people. It took us hours and

directions are not very accurate. We had to keep on taking steps
backwards and repeating and correcting. It was a nightmare. i should
have heeded the warning of the the sport shop who sold it, to get professional installation.

I own a 1998, 25hp Mercury short shaft tiller outboard engine. It is on a 15′-10″ Mirrow Craft semi V aluminum flat bottom boat. When I am running it, the steering handle pulls to the left making the boat turn right. I have to concentrate on keeping the handle steady when the motor is at full throttle. If I would let up the tension with my arm the motor pulls the boat to the right. I need to balance the motor so it runs without steering tension. How do I adjust it?
ANSWER : You have a tiller tab on the foot of your outboard, It has a mark on it, and should be cocked to one side, take note of the mark, and turn it one way or another, just keep notes on what you do, then try it. See what happens, you should be able to compensate for the over steer by moving this tab. Hope this helps.

I have a kawasaki zzr600e that produces a white/milky residue which covers the pickup coil cover, clutch cover/oil filler and exhaust (right side)I got the bike 3 days a go ridden it twice wipping the residue off before i ride each time only covered about 150 miles so far. Any ideas what’s causing it
ANSWER : White and milky is water in your oil, its everywhere because its overflowing. its 100% a major problem and the longer the bike runs the more likely itll need a new engine

This is the izh 513m .177 rifle. It’s brand new. I am not sure as of what to do and the hammer want budge and the trigger won’t pull. The barrel has no tension and it won’t go up like its supposed to.
ANSWER : This could be a factory safety that the hammer and trigger do not move while in the cocked position. The barrel may be locking down purposely. Look near the spring or in the path of the barrel where it folds back up and look for a release button. What do you see?
