While it does not fold up, the footprint of the TreadClimber is not much larger than a folded up treadmill. Built-in transport wheels also make it easier to move your TreadClimber around.
Now all TreadClimbers have been discontinued by Bowflex as they have transitioned to offering traditional treadmills and a new combination machine, the Max Trainer. The Max Trainer features a 2-in-1 design combining an elliptical and stair stepper.
The Bowflex TC10 (aka the TreadClimber or WalkTC) offers three fitness machines in one: a treadmill, a stairclimber, and an elliptical trainer. Two long pedals (called treadles) start out flat but the incline can be adjusted up to 40% to increase the challenge and support remarkably efficient exercise.
With over 30 strength exercises and a built-in rowing station for a calorie blasting workout, the PR1000 is a great way to begin your training routine. Folds for easy storage.
Please try again. A: Yes, the equipment can be easily put into “flat” or zero incline and then reversed as desired.
The cushioned running deck will feel roomy, too, as it measures 22 inches by 60 inches, which is larger than most folding treadmills. To that end, the Bowflex Treadmill 10 uses a soft drop folding system to easily fold and unfold.
Depending on the brand and model, they range from 1-40% percent incline. Although the ideal incline for most people is between 1-7%, stepping out of your comfort zone for a 20%+ incline workout is a good idea from time to time.
Depending on your physical and cardiovascular health, experts usually say around 1-2% incline is best. If you`re looking for more of a challenge or an advanced runner, you can move it up to 5-6% and beyond. Running on a treadmill incline has many benefits.
In general, treadmills offer anywhere from 0% (flat) to 15% incline. The higher the incline percentage, the more challenging your workout will be. When your treadmill is set to a 10% incline, you`ll feel as though you are walking up a relatively steep hill.
It is important to start with the leveling feet all the way up (turn clockwise). Once the treadmill is in its intended location, if the treadmill is not level, adjust the leveling feet by turning counterclockwise. Tighten the jam nut or locking mechanism on the leveling feet with an adjustable wrench.
Firmly grasp the back end of the treadmill. If your treadmill has a foot lock latch (A), to unfold, gently press down on the foot lock latch with your foot until the lock latch disengages. If your treadmill has a deck lock latch (B), pull the deck lock latch to release the deck. Carefully lower the deck to the ground.
To check if your belt is too tight or too loose, you need to lift it up by the sides at the center of the frame. You should be able to lift the belt by approximately 2 or 3 inches. If not, the belt is too tight. If it lifts up considerably more than that mark, then your belt is too loose.
Resistance training like you can perform on Bowflex home gyms is a great way to build lean muscle and burn calories—key components of weight loss. However, losing weight depends on your diet, habits and genetics as much as it does your resistance training routine.
No, a treadclimber cannot be used as a treadmill. Treadclimbers` maximum speed range is between 3.8 and 4.2 mph, which isn`t fast enough to run.

These rise to meet your feet as you walk. Because they rise to meet your feet, there`s less impact on your knees and it`s very gentle. A lot of people have compared walking on the Treadclimber to a feeling of walking in sand – so it`s going to be a lot less jarring to your knees.

Streaming Entertainment – If your product has a touchscreen, you can watch Netflix and Amazon Prime Video (streaming subscriptions not included). Feature only available with JRNY All-Access on treadmills, bikes, and Max Trainer models with an embedded touchscreen.
The Bowflex TC1000 was their very first TreadClimber, which was released in 2003 but discontinued along with the TC3000 in 2011 to make way for the newest series, which includes the TC5, TC10, and TC20 models.
Cardiovascular Benefit

The cardio benefits are potentially high with consistent training on a TreadClimber machine. Professional fitness models at Fitness-events.com tested the TreadClimber and found the cardio benefit to be among one of its greatest strengths.

You can get similar equipment from both brands, so the choice really depends on what you`re looking for. NordicTrack has a wider selection of equipment in most categories, plus a rowing machine and workout mirror. Bowflex`s line is more limited, but most people are still likely to find something that works for them.
Bowflex home gyms come with a large price tag, but they`re worth the cost if you`re looking for an all-in-one piece of resistance training equipment that you can use at home.
They are also often sold with a warranty, which also adds to the cost. Another reason Bowflex dumbbells are expensive is due to the brand reputation. Bowflex is a well-known and reputable brand in the fitness industry, and consumers are willing to pay a premium for the quality and convenience that the brand offers.
Climbing stairs is one of the best exercises when it comes to pure FAT BURN, strengthening the lower body, toning the butt, thighs, calves, losing inches from those love handles and belly and building great abs. Along with these benefits is the immense good it does for your lungs and cardio vascular system.
Mountain climbers are a great exercise for engaging the entire core and burning belly fat. This full-body workout targets all areas of the core, as well as strengthening the shoulders and arms.

TC5000 and after extended use I smell burning and upon removing the belt cover and drive belt I felt of the motor on the motor side of the drive pulley and it was ”red-hot”, obviously the source of the smell of the burning. The motor spins freely without any rubbing noise. The drive pulley (motor side) and the tread pulley appear to be alligned. One curious thing is that the threaded motor output shaft is recessed about 3/8” from the outside edge of the pulley. Could it be the bearing on the pulley side of the motor? I am dumbfounded as to what the solution might be. Note that I could not enter the exact product as my model seemed to be invalid. My model is the TC5000. Thanks [email protected]
ANSWER : Just because it spins freely doesnt mean it cant have a shorted winding. Id send it back where it came from or at least replace the motor.

Bowflex Treadclimber rubs against housing.
ANSWER : Adjustment is needed. Remove rear covers and using a 9/16 wrench lossen the four bolts that secure treadle assembly to base. Place a 3/4 inch piece of plywood or a 3/8 inch socket extension in between the treadles in the front area. with that in place center them about an 1/8 in closer to the right upright as when you tighten the four bolt up the drive belt will place additional pressure and they should center perfect. tighten bolts…tight. remove wedge from between treadles and recalibrate unit. replace covers and enjoy. Use turtle wax on area rubbed to prevent rust.
