The final component to understand on your spinning reel is the anti-reverse switch. This feature is typically located at the bottom of the reel and can be a helpful tool when fighting fish. This switch allows you to backreel, or reel in reverse, rather than relying on your drag system for line tension.
A common feature of a spinning reel spool is the drag adjustment knob. The drag adjustment knob looks like a dial and is generally found on the top of the spool. Learn how to set the drag according to the breaking strength of the line.
Spincast Reels

Such fishing reels feature a push button on the back of the reel, which is pressed down while you are casting forward. When you press on the button while casting, the line pushes out, and when you let go of the button, the line stops. However, there are few drawbacks of this type of reels.

In addition to the baitcasting reel`s braking system, you can also adjust your spool speed with the spool tension knob. While braking systems are great for larger restrictions on how much line comes off, the spool tension knob allows for even finer tuning.
To begin with it`s important to fill your reels full. Casting reels should be between an eighth of an inch from the top and all the way to the top. If you get too much line on them, you`ll get a weird sound when you cast. Spinning reels should be all the way full, right to the top.
Gear ratios vary from reel to reel, but they`re all represented in the same manner. Using a gear ratio of 5.2:1, for example, the 1 represents one complete turn, or one revolution (360o) of the handle. For baitcasting reels, the 5.2 represents how many complete times the spool turns with one turn of the handle.
Most good anglers and pro shops will recommend setting your drag to about 20 to 30 percent of the pound test you are using. So if you`re using 10 pound test line, you will want your drag to start slipping with about 2 to 3 pounds of pressure.
For best results, the drag setting should be able at the point where the line holds a third to half of its weight before moving (e.g., a 20-pound line should not move until the hook holds seven to ten pounds).
Run the line through the guides on the rod to the reel with the bail open and tie it tightly to the spool. If you use a regular overhand square knot, pass the end through twice instead of just once – it will help keep the line tight on the spool.
Instagram Reels length may be up to 90 seconds or up to 15 minutes, and it depends on how the Reel is created. If the Reel is created via Instagram Reels tool in the app straight from the Instagram camera, the length is up to 90 seconds. The default Reel length users can create via the IG camera is 15 seconds.
Spincast reels are the easiest to learn and simplest to operate of the three primary styles of casting reels. Generally, they are the least expensive. Spincast (spincasting) reels are identifiable by their “closed face.” That is, the spool containing the fishing line is totally enclosed within the reel itself.
Anti-Reverse on a spinning reel is a feature that prevents the reel from turning backwards and engages the drag. Some reels come with an Anti Reverse switch that allows the angler to choose whether it is engaged or not. This feature has helped people “back-reel” rather than allowing the drag to fight the fish.
An instant anti-reverse prevents the rotor from moving backwards instantaneously insuring solid hooksets. Instant anti-reverses use a roller bearing for immediate engagement unlike a multi stop which relies on a series of teeth. The gaps between the teeth of a multi stop result in back play thus delaying hooksets.
The purpose of the bail is to act as a gate for the line on the spool. When the bail is engaged, the line is prevented from unwinding from the spool. When the bail is disengaged, as it would be for casting, the bail releases the line from the spool.

My answers are short and sweet. Common sense mostly. If you are trying to get something for nothing…Don’t waste my time! Remember if something sounds to good to be true that it usually is. I’ve spent many years of my life trying to cheat the system and was pretty good at it. This all changed when I discovered that people were doing the same thing to me. What comes around, goes around. Karma! Now I assist people in making win-win deals…that are legit!

My 1977 Evinrude 140 HP outboard engine looses power when it hits @4,200 rpm’s and goes down to 3,500 then back up to 4,200 and then back down to 3,000 or about there. This would continue if I didn’t slow down to 3,000 on my own. It runs fine at @ 3,000 when I slow it down. I have changed all the fuel lines from the fuel tank to the carbs, removed, cleaned out the fuel tank, put new gas and added a can of SeaFoam. I replaced the water seperator filter and cleaned the fuel filter. I feel the fuel pump is operating OK. Any ideas about what could be causing my problem? Could it be a bad power pack or stator? Help!!
ANSWER : Hi, this is obviously a stator problem since you have cleaned the fuel filter..

Take care

Penn Spin Reel will not lock after casting
ANSWER : On the front of the spool there is a device to turn to set the drag. Torn it tighter and tighten it until slightly below the breaking point of your fishing line. It isn’t a critical adjustment, it just keeps your line from breaking while trying to land a fish.
