Factory Racing Parts SAE 10W-40 Full Synthetic 4 Quart Oil Change Kit for Suzuki.
Refill the engine with 2.6 quarts of Suzuki Ecstar 10W-40 oil or any other 10W-40 oil that has additives for a wet clutch system.
Other OEM`s ATV/UTV oils range from 0W-40 to 10W-40, depending on what the engineers have determined the best viscosity for their engines. ATV/UTV engine oils need to flow in extremely cold temperatures so that plow-equipped vehicle gets enough lubricant on startup on a cold winter morning.
Your Suzuki KingQuad`s engine oil capacity of 2.6 quarts—this is the amount required to lubricate and cool the engine, keeping all of its parts running smoothly.
For most ATVs, you`ll also have to snap off the panel on the right side of the vehicle, which will reveal a cover that has bolts you`ll also need to remove. After you remove the cover, you`ll see the oil filter and dipstick.
If you just purchased a new side by side or quad, then you`ll need a ATV or UTV oil filter almost immediately. Most manufacturers recommend a break-in period of 25 hours or one month. After that, you should replace your filter once every 100 hours or so (or six months if you don`t ride very often).
They`re meant to be used only once. Reusing a disposable oil filter from the previous oil change may cause a lot of damage.
Before you get started, don`t forget to look for the proper amount of oil required for your machine. This can usually be located in your service or owner`s manuals. Most will be around 1.5qts – 2.5qts at most.
Figuring out what type of oil filter you need isn`t nearly as complicated as figuring out what type of oil you need. There are hundreds of different filters, but only one type your car will need. The manufacturer will tell you in your owner`s manual what type of filter you need, so all you need to do is match it up.
It`s best to use the oil viscosity recommended in the owner`s manual, but using a slightly thinner or thicker oil (lighter or heavier viscosity) generally poses no long-term harm.
The difference between 10w40 and 10w50 is how thin the oil gets when it`s hot, 10w50 oil won`t thin out as quickly as 10w40 when oil temperature goes up, but it also might be too thick during regular running in cold temperatures. Company recommends 10W50, which is freely available. Don`t use different grades.
The LTZ-400 ATV requires 2.2 quarts of 10w40 engine oil. Some manufacturer data sheets specify 0w40 which works just as well but the general consensus is that, in warmer climates especially, 10w40 is the way to go.
Overall Length2060 mm (81.1 in.) Overall Width1145 mm (45.1 in.) Overall Height1220 mm (48.0 in.)
You also need to consider that your ATV or side-by-side engines run at higher RPMs. Therefore, the engine needs a synthetic oil that will maintain its lubricant properties instead of breaking down under heat and performance stress.
ATV`s and UTV`s do not have the same complex emissions equipment as cars. Therefore, ATV`s can use motor oil with a different formulation approach. Some oil makers such as AMSOIL can pack their ATV/UTV oils with high levels of zinc and phosphorus. This cannot be done with modern car motor oil.
2 Main Types Of Oil Filters
Primary Oil Filter. Secondary Oil Filter.
All Ryco 4WD Filter Service kits come with an oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and where required a cabin filter and all the seals to suit your 4WD.
Perform a break-in oil and filter change at 25 engine hours or one month of use — whichever comes first. Following break-in, change your oil and filter every 100 hours, six months or 1,000 miles — whichever comes first. Always change the filter whenever changing the oil.
However, it`s important to note that when changing the engine oil, both the oil filter and engine oil must be replaced together. While you can top off your engine oil if the existing filter is still good, it`s not recommended to ignore an old filter and simply replace only the engine oil.
Yes, you can change your oil filter without changing the oil. The first thing you need to know is that you will lose a bit of oil during a filter change. The oil filter`s location will depend on your specific make and model, which determines how much oil you will lose when swapping out the filter.
Easy: unleaded gasoline, 91 octane. Technically, AKI (R+M)/2 octane rating of 91 (North America), or fuel with an RON octane rating of 95 (EU).
An SAE 110 and SAE 140 will generally work fine, even when it`s cold. The higher viscosity of these, relative to an SAE 90, provides improved shock load protection in a 4×4 vehicle. The drawback is that if the axle isn`t really hot, the heavier oil creates more friction, which can impact fuel economy.
So the answer to the question, can you put 10w30 in a 5w30 engine, is that you can yes, as they`re not too different from one another. However, it`s not just about getting the oil that has the most viscosity, or as people say, thickness.
However, in the wrong engine, it can cause serious problems that may potentially void your car`s warranty. If you use 20W-50 oil in an engine that requires 5W-30, for example, you won`t notice any immediate engine damage. But your vehicle will experience engine wear each time you start your engine at a low temperature.

I want to change the oil in my yamaha big bear atv, early 90s. what type of oil do I need to use and is there anything else that goes along with the oil change-?filter
ANSWER : HELLO; Yes you will need a filter located lower left side behind the peg ,you’ll see a cover thats about an inch and a half wide with three allen head bolts, pull out the filter and when you replace it make sure the hole is towards the engine. Now about oil there are several ideas on this so heres my ( 2 cents ) I repair quads and have for several years, you have a quad that has a wet clutch if it is an older one and semi automatic so you don’t want to use syn. oil as this will wear out your clutch sooner, I would recomend, yamalube,it will cost up to $5.00 a qt. but you only need two and a quarter qts. to fill your quad. GOOD LUCK, and remember you must be fast, because I was haulin *** when I passed you!

My pool filtering system has been installed for 5 years and has worked well. It has a Jacuzzi 1.5hp pump and a Hayward s244t filter with heater and a salt generator. I have never replaced the sand. It has had a problem 2 times in the past week at startup in the morning. It appears there is blockage in the filter preventing flow through it because when I open the pump backet, it is pressurized. If I then backflush or rinse the filter, everything appears to work fine. Then I switch it back to normal filter operation and it works ok. I have a timer on the filter and the problem only occurs first in the morning when the timer starts it. Any ideas?
ANSWER : Assuming you don’t have too much sand in it or something like that, because it used to work fine, my first guess would be that you are not setting the rinse cycle after the back flush, and the same dirt is coming right back into the filter.{ … RINSE—After backwashing, with pump off, set valve toRINSE. Start pump and operate for about 1/2 to 1 minute. This ensures that all dirty water from backwashing isrinsed out of the filter to waste, preventing possible returnto the pool. Stop pump, set valve to FILTER, and startpump for normal filtering … }http://www.haywardnet.com/products/manuals/pdfs/Manual145.pdfLook at the sight glass during each back flush, and see if there really is dirt. If so, then then either the pool is extremely dirty or you are cycling the same dirt over and over.
