Reel Spool
The spool is the part of a reel that holds the fishing line, but it also plays an important role in casting distance and smoothness. Most spools are made from either Most spools are made from either anodized aluminum or graphite (graphite is lighter while aluminum offers greater strength).
A knob on top of the spool (and sometimes, in the back) allows you to adjust the frictionless plates, which increases or decreases your tension. Having this adjustability can help when fighting fish.

Overall, there are 4 types of reels: spincast, baitcasting, spinning and fly reels.
Fishing reel bearings are located throughout both spinning and baitcasting reels wherever there are components that must spin/rotate. The spool, pinion gear and under drag washers, They serve to facilitate the rotation of gears, knobs, spools and even level wind devices.
Some manufacturers use “reel” to refer to the full unit, while “spool” refers to what`s left behind after the cable has been exhausted. For others, a “spool” refers to smaller units — for instance, data cables — while “reel” refers to larger drums.
Reel Foot. The reel foot is the actual connection to your rod. This is the part that you will pace against the rod and attach to the rod by either a screw down, or screw up reel seat on the rod. It is the first and only point of connection to the rod.
Baitcasting reels are the most powerful fishing reels, hands down. They can handle heavy lines and produce a lot of pulling power, making them a great option when you`re chasing larger fish. Baitcasters also allow you to feel the line as it`s going out, so you can stop it exactly when you need to.
Fishing reel gear ratios can seem confusing at first, but once you get the hang of them, they`re easy to understand. The gear ratio tells you how many times the rotor will spin around the spool with 1 full crank of the handle. So the rotor of a 5.7:1 ratio reel will spin 5.7 turns around the spool from 1 full crank.
A spinning reel is by far the most common reel in use and consists of a stationary spool with line wound onto the spool by a rotating wire arm via a turn of the handle.
The most common reel on the market has a 6.4:1 gear ratio. This will allow you to work both fast moving presentations as well as slow. However, for certain techniques and applications, a very high or low gear ratio will often work best. For instance, burning a spinnerbait or buzzbait is best done with a 7.1:1 reel.
If you are going to be regularly catching fish between ¾oz and 1lb, a 1500–2000-size reel will be your best choice. For most bass fishing techniques, a 2500–3000-size reel will suffice.
If you currently have a doorknob installed, you can easily replace it with a new handle. Ensure that you choose a handle that will cover any screw holes and door marks made by your old knob.
You can measure the dimensions of a bearing by using a vernier calliper like the one below or measuring accurately with a ruler. All bearings will have a width, an inner diameter and an outside diameter.
A cable reel is a round, drum-shaped object such as a spool used to carry various types of electrical wires.
There are two types of spools: full spools and mini spools.
Reel to reel recordings were essentially the first audio format on magnetic tapes. They get their name from the way that you played them–you guessed it, from reel to reel. Tape played from one real to another with nothing else in between.
A longer rod will give you a longer cast. It`s really that simple. If power and action are the same, generally speaking, a 7-foot rod will cast the same lure farther than a 6-foot rod. Now if the lure is light, like 1/8 ounce, it can be a little more managable on a softer shorter rod than a longer rod.
For Instagram Reels it`s 60 seconds. And the video length for Instagram Stories is 15 seconds. If you have videos that exceed these length limits then there are some ways to get around this.
Tap on “Templates” at the bottom of the screen. Then scroll through the different Reels templates available in the library. Once you`ve found the template you want to use, tap on “Use template” and start adding the video clips or photos you want to use.
You can create your own version of a reel by using a template. Templates allow you to use the same music and timing as the original reel, and replace the photos or video clips with your own. Note that templates are only available for reels that include music and at least 3 clips.
Instagram Reels are viewed in a vertical orientation, so videos and photos should be 1080 pixels wide and 1920 pixels tall (an aspect ratio 9:16).
So, what makes Reels different from a standard video? With Reels on Instagram, you can create short, impressive, and addictive videos of 15 – 90 seconds in length. There`s also a timer and countdown option to make filming easier. The videos can be overlaid with text that appears, disappears, moves, and more.

I have a mitchell riptide 80 spinning reel. I lost the screws and parts that hold the bail to the reel. I need a manual to show me the parts that I need to get. I also need the manual to show me exploded views so that I can clean and do maintainance on it.

Need the wire diagram to rewire my Ariens lawnmover to bypass the safety switch. It is Ariens GT-19 model # 931026 Serial # 001463.
Can you help? It is an old Ariens mower but still runs good but now I need to bypass the safety switch in order to run it any longer. The local Ariens dealer said I need to go through the internet and get the wire diagram as they cannot give it to me directly. They told me I needed the wire diagram and the part involved in bypassing the safety switch. Hope this is all the information you need to help me.

ANSWER : Here is owner manual:http://apache.ariens.com/manuals/030305C.pdfusually the switch is behind the ignition, sometimes at the N position of gearshift, just look for a switch with one wire coming in & one going out (usually the same color); disconnect the two wires & jumper them together to bypass the switch. Looks like yours has one under the seat.

I have the penn Senator 15L and lately the reel when over 200 yards of Line goes out then I start to reel it in the reel starts to Slip and no line can be reeled in? Do you have a solution? Thanks
ANSWER : The weight of that much line is caausing the drag to slip. you need to tighten the drag up some more. hope this helps
