How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

For a . 50 caliber, 75 grains. For a . 45 caliber, about 65 grains.
A 50 cal round ball weighs 177 grains and has a ballistic coefficient of . 068 . Maximum velocity is around 2000 fps.
Knight® Rifles perform best between 90 and 150 grains of Black Powder, and industry approved black powder substitutes.
Which of these types of black powder creates the most pressure? FFFFg has the finest granulation. The finer the granulation of powder, the more pressure it creates when fired. All types of powder must be handled with extreme caution!
The .50 BMG (12.7×99mm NATO) cartridge has a capacity of 290 gr (19 g).
Conicals in the 300- to 385-grain range typically do very well with a similar powder charge. A . 50-caliber muzzleloader with a 1-32 to 1-38 twist rate should do well with the same sabots and conicals with a propellant charge in the 85- to 90-grain range.
Know the Limits. Yes, it`s a gun with a scope. But 200 yards is a long shot for a muzzleloader, particularly given that most hunters have never shot their guns past 100 yards. As mentioned above, most setups are clocking around 1,700 fps with the average 250-grain (or heavier) bullet.
Most muzzleloading firearms should be sighted in so that at 50 yards the projectile is hitting around 2½ to 3 inches above the point of aim. Small-game hunters have a smaller vital area and must sight in more precisely. To sight in the firearm, move the rear sight in the direction you want to move your shots.
The current standard composition for the gunpowder manufactured by pyrotechnicians was adopted as long ago as 1780. Proportions by weight are 75% potassium nitrate (known as saltpeter or saltpetre), 15% softwood charcoal, and 10% sulfur.
Wherever muzzleloader manufacturers recommend three (3) Triple Seven Pellets, four (4) or five (5) FireStar Pellets should be safe to use.
Black powder comes in four types, based on the size of the particles. FFFFg is the finest, with FFFg, FFg, and Fg being respectively coarser. FFFFg is only used in the flash pans of flintlocks. The other types are used as the breech charge according to the manufacturers` instructions.
Black powder consists of a fuel (charcoal), an oxidizer (saltpeter or niter), and a stabilizer (sulfur) to allow for a constant reaction. The reaction would be slow, like a wood fire, if not for the oxidizing agent.
68 caliber paintball weighs 3.00 grams. A . 50 caliber paintball weighs only 1.25 grams (approximately the weight of a paperclip).
Extended Range and Accuracy

Advertising, military manuals, expert writing, and civilian owner comments all demonstrate that 50 caliber sniper rifles are accurate at ranges of at least 1,000 yards, and in the hands of a trained marksman, nearly 2,000 yards.

Offered in multiple grain sizes, FFg is best suited to the utilitarian, . 50 caliber muzzleloader. Popular brands include Swiss, Goex and Goex Olde Eynsford, and Graf & Sons.
A grain, as a unit of measurement, is equal to 64.79891 milligrams, or 0.06479891 grams. 16 grains is just under 1 gram. The unit originally comes the Bronze Age – where a grain of wheat or barley was considered a legal definition of mass.
The standard . 50 BMG military load fires a full metal jacket (FMJ) bullet weighing 647 grain (gr) and travels at a velocity just more than 3,000 feet per second (fps) when fired from the M2 heavy machine gun, with a barrell length of 45 inches.
50 caliber 175 grain round balls for those hunters who prefer (or are required by law) to use patched round balls in their muzzleloader. This box of 100 is made for . 50 caliber rifles.
50 caliber muzzleloaders. A . 45-70 with a 405-grain bullet shoots at about 1,350 fps., where a modern muzzleloader with 100 grains of Pyrodex, or Triple7 powder, will shoot at about the same speed as the . 45-70 cartridge.
40 caliber muzzleloader has the flattest trajectory of any mass produced muzzleloader as of 2023. If you`re looking for the absolute best long range muzzleloader, buy a . 40 caliber CVA Paramount HTR. Unfortunately, some states require larger caliber muzzleloaders for certain types of hunting.
Firearm muzzle velocities range from approximately 120 m/s (390 ft/s) to 370 m/s (1,200 ft/s) in black powder muskets, to more than 1,200 m/s (3,900 ft/s) in modern rifles with high-velocity cartridges such as the .
Since that`s a proven muzzle velocity under field conditions, let`s use it to determine the trajectory of a 250-grain Parker Productions Ballistic Extreme bullet (the one I used in testing). With a 100-yard zero, the bullet will be 24.4 inches low at 300 yards.
At 150 yards the 100-grain load was only a half-inch lower than the 150 loading. The 150-grain load dropped 5 inches below the center of the target compared to 5.5 inches for the 100-grain load. Both are well within acceptable and effective hunting accuracy and trajectory.
Gunpowder contains 75% of nitre and 10% of sulphur, and the rest of it is charcoal.

Need the wire diagram to rewire my Ariens lawnmover to bypass the safety switch. It is Ariens GT-19 model # 931026 Serial # 001463.
Can you help? It is an old Ariens mower but still runs good but now I need to bypass the safety switch in order to run it any longer. The local Ariens dealer said I need to go through the internet and get the wire diagram as they cannot give it to me directly. They told me I needed the wire diagram and the part involved in bypassing the safety switch. Hope this is all the information you need to help me.

Thank you. Roger Fielitz

ANSWER : Here is owner manual: the switch is behind the ignition, sometimes at the N position of gearshift, just look for a switch with one wire coming in & one going out (usually the same color); disconnect the two wires & jumper them together to bypass the switch. Looks like yours has one under the seat.
