I have a new catalytic heater- new b ecause it hasn’t been used but old because it is like from 1961. My problem is that i don’t have the instructions to make it work and that is what i would like to know – can i get instructions somewhere so i can use this heater to go ice fishing? Thankyou fo ryour help. Gilles Landry

How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

We offer a diverse range of insights on identifying and resolving common problems in sports. Our sources encompass academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays shared by seasoned athletes. :

Catalytic heaters generate heat without a flame, which makes them ideal for use in many hazardous environments. The heat-producing chemical reaction requires fuel, such as natural gas or propane; an electrically preheated catalyst, such as a platinum-coated pad or plate; and oxygen from ambient air.
Cata-Dyne™ heaters produce low intensity infrared heat that is absorbed by objects within the range of the heat source. The closer the object is to the source of heat, the more heat the object will absorb.
You see, catalytic heaters consume oxygen, which means without sufficient ventilation within your RV, they run the risk of asphyxiating. Always crack open a window and ensure a vent is open to allow for additional oxygen to enter the space.
Normal operating temperatures of a converter are 500-800°F, and up to 1200°F when the vehicle is under heavy load. To melt the catalytic converter`s substrate, the temperature inside the converter would have to exceed 2000°F.
Catalytic converters get activated and start reducing the emissions only after they reach the light-off temperature, which happens normally around 250-300°C [8]. The time period at which the catalyst becomes active is referred to as light-off time.
The Fragrance Lamp works via catalytic combustion. When the platinum catalyst present on the stone part of the wick assembly is heated, this creates a catalytic reaction with the Lamp Fragrance and oxygen. This reaction is self-sustaining while there is constant fuel and oxygen supply.
The surface temperature of the catalytic heater is approximately 700° F, much lower than an open flame (approximately 1300° F, the ignition temperature of natural gas). CATCO Catalytic heaters are approved by Factory Mutual and the Canadian Gas Association for operation in hazardous environments.
Over a temperature range from 100 ºC to 220 ºC, the total efficiency of the catalytic heater was better than 75%.
The catalytic heater is contained within the package which is usually made out of stainless-steel. Instrument gas and pilot preheating regulators are only used for freeze protection, and to heat up the gas before it reaches the pilot.
Catalytic converters usually run at 1200 to 1600 degrees Fahrenheit. An overheated converter turns bright red and becomes hotter than 2000 degrees Fahrenheit!
By the way, cruise control is often the best way to complete a catalyst monitor. Another car needed to be driven in 2nd gear to pass part of a monitor. Accelerate to 50 MPH, then decelerate to less than 6 MPH without touching the brake. Repeat at least 5 times.
For most modern cars, you can expect to pay around $300 – $1,650 (not including labor) for a new catalytic converter. However, these prices usually depend on the cost of the parts and local labor charges. For example, replacing a standard catalytic converter (CAT) in newer cars can cost between $500 and $2,200.
A catalytic converter is part of the exhaust system. It is designed to convert toxic gases into more environmentally friendly by-products. Conversion of exhaust gases begins after reaching an operating temperature of approx 200 degrees Celsius. The optimum operating range is usually between 400 and 600 degrees Celsius.
Temperature Measurements

The measurement can be direct by making use of one or more temperature sensors placed upstream, downstream or inside the catalytic converter or the measurement can be indirect by estimating the temperature from other engine parameters.

Most cars have at least two oxygen sensors located throughout the exhaust system; at least one in front of the catalytic converter and one or more downstream from the catalytic converter. The “pre-cat sensor” regulates fuel supply, while the downstream sensor measures the efficiency of the catalytic converter.
The best way to clean your catalytic combustor is to simply vacuum off both sides. You can also use a soft bris- tled brush (like a paint brush). If your combustor seems plugged with ash even after brushing or vacuuming, you can gently clean the cells with a pipe cleaner.
A new catalytic converter should last for around 10 years but, as with most other vehicle components, the exact lifespan can differ. Mileage and engine tune can impact on the durability of the item, so it`s worth checking the condition after 50,000 miles.
The catalytic converter is supposed to last for the full lifetime of your vehicle. It rarely happens that someone must deal with dysfunctional catalytic converter but not impossible. There are a lot of factors that impact the life span, but generally a catalytic converter should last between 70,000 and 100,000 miles.
The warmth from the engine goes from the radiator to the heater core, which basically acts as a heat exchanger. It allows coolant to flow through, and this flow of coolant is regulated by the heater control valve. As the engine`s heat is carried by coolant into the heater core, the device starts to get warm.
Bruest Catalytic Heaters are designed for safety, efficiency, and ease of use in mind. The heaters are offered in multiple sizes, BTU ratings, and configurations to meet varying application requirements.
In the catalytic heater the combustion takes place due to a chemical reaction between the gas and the components of the panel, while the infrared burner is made up of thousands of small cavities that are filled with gas which is “burned” by the pilot light.
Pour one cup of denatured alcohol over the head in an “X” style fashion. Light the heater head and burn off the denatured alcohol. The denatured alcohol burns hotter than Coleman Fuel® and will help to burn off any impurities. Let completely cool and then reapply denatured alcohol to the head assembly.
The catalytic converter itself won`t burst into flames, but it can become a fire hazard. An overheated catalytic converter can ignite surrounding flammable materials while it`s running hot. Under normal circumstances, catalytic converters operate within a temperature range of 1,200 to 1,600 degrees Fahrenheit.

Need the wire diagram to rewire my Ariens lawnmover to bypass the safety switch. It is Ariens GT-19 model # 931026 Serial # 001463.
Can you help? It is an old Ariens mower but still runs good but now I need to bypass the safety switch in order to run it any longer. The local Ariens dealer said I need to go through the internet and get the wire diagram as they cannot give it to me directly. They told me I needed the wire diagram and the part involved in bypassing the safety switch. Hope this is all the information you need to help me.

Thank you. Roger Fielitz

ANSWER : Here is owner manual:http://apache.ariens.com/manuals/030305C.pdfusually the switch is behind the ignition, sometimes at the N position of gearshift, just look for a switch with one wire coming in & one going out (usually the same color); disconnect the two wires & jumper them together to bypass the switch. Looks like yours has one under the seat.

Can u give me instructions to make stuff out of wood.
ANSWER : I know we’re not supposed to do links, but this is alot of info.
good luck.

The instructions I got are not exactly for the tent in the bag, so I need to find out the specific instructions for my tent rther than the generic instructions it came with.
ANSWER : Search on the internet for the manufacturer’s name, and the tent model. Most have instruction sheets downloadable from their websites. If that doesn’t work, and they can’t help you by email, then try to find a scout troop or outdoors club in your area, who may be able to help you find instructions or even someone with a similar tent.

My daughter has a sweet pea scooter that had been blowing fuses and the motor got hot. Im sure the motor is shot. but my question is can anyone tell me if the motor would be the only thing I need to c
ANSWER : Find out whether it is 6 volts or 12 volts and there should be two wires that feed the motor either cut or splice and attach another set of wires with fuse in the line (simular to jumper cables) raise the back tire so it does not touch the ground and place jump wires to the negative and positive of the battery. If the motor moves in either direction without blowing the fuse the motor is good if not then its bad. Uses the same amperage fuse
