Hydraulic hose fittings. There are different types of hose fittings. Their purpose is to connect hoses securely to your hydraulic system`s components, such as valves, cylinders and pumps. It`s the fittings that help hold and direct the flow of fluid, maintaining the pressure while preventing leaks.
Make sure to relieve any pressure in the hydraulic system before attempting to connect or disconnect hoses.
Hydraulic fittings are parts used to connect hoses, pipes, and tubes in hydraulic systems. Hydraulic equipment generally operates under high pressures and is often not a fixed system.
A single acting cylinder will have only one hose that will either extend or retract the cylinder. To do the opposite function, it requires another force such as gravity or a spring or another cylinder. The fluid in these cylinders only act on one side of the piston.
There are three common types of coupling interfaces used in hydraulics today: thread interface, mated angle, and O-ring.
These three types are either metal seal, soft seal, or tapered thread connectors.
Hoses are usually attached to a hose spigot or tap.
Recommended maximum fluid velocities in conductors is two to four ft/sec for inlet lines, 10 to 15 ft/sec for return lines, 15 to 20 ft/sec for pressure lines between 500 and 2000 psi and 25 ft/sec for pressures over 3000 psi.
Most hydraulic hoses should have a minimum burst pressure that is four times the working pressure. So if your working pressure is 2000 PSI, the minimum burst pressure would be 8000 PSI, but you should never push the hose beyond the recommended working PSI limit.
The process of connecting two hoses of different sizes is actually quite simple. All you need is a hose connector. First, take the larger hose and attach one end of the connector to it. Then, take the smaller hose and attach the other end of the connector to it.
Forged steel fittings are the most suitable for use in hydraulic applications. Fittings are attached to the pipe by: welded joint: socket weld, butt weld. threaded fitting: screw thread.
A clogged filter or screen: This is the most common cause of low pressure in a hydraulic pump. If debris has built up on the filter or screen, it will block the flow of oil and gas, causing the pump to lose pressure.
A Double Acting cylinder uses hydraulic power to both extend and retract. A simple way to tell the cylinders apart is by looking at the number of ports. A Single Acting cylinder will have one port for the connection of a hydraulic cylinders Hydraulic Hose Fittings A Double Acting cylinder will have TWO ports.
This is usually the result of a faulty or incorrectly adjusted load-control valve. When this happens, a negative pressure develops in the rod side of the hydraulic cylinder, which can result in air being drawn into the cylinder past its rod seal.
Hydraulic coupling is another term for fluid coupling. It is a hydrodynamic instrument that utilizes transmission fluid to transmit rotational motion from one shaft to another. It is employed in automobile transmission systems, marine propulsion systems, and a variety of industrial applications.
Hydraulic quick couplings allow the connection and disconnection of fluid lines in a fast and convenient way. They provide the users the ability to rapidly connect and disconnect hydraulic hoses to machines or attachments. All quick couplers have two parts: the male half and the female half.
The ports connect to what in a typical model are a hydraulic pump (port P), a storage tank (port T), and a double-acting actuator (ports A and B).
S series fitting is able to work pressure between 315 to 630 bars. L series fitting is able to work at 160 bar or 315 bar pressure. It is subject to outer diameter size. The lowest pressure is 100 bars, which is available for LL series only.
Hosepipe fittings are either classed as male or female. The female hose connectors are used on the ends of hose (hence the name hose end connectors), and the male is used on the taps and watering accessories such as spray nozzles and lawn sprinklers.
No, they come in a variety of designs and sizes for different tasks. For example, there are male and female connectors, terms that refer to the way they attach to other hoses or connectors. Other designs include nozzles, valves, varying pressure tolerances, and adapters for use in a multitude of specific circumstances.
A hose coupling is a connector on the end of a hose to connect (or couple) it with another hose or with a tap or a hose appliance, such as an irrigation sprinkler. It is usually made of steel, brass, stainless steel, aluminium or plastic.
The principle was first enunciated by the French scientist Blaise Pascal. Pressure is equal to the force divided by the area on which it acts. According to Pascal`s principle, in a hydraulic system a pressure exerted on a piston produces an equal increase in pressure on another piston in the system.
To adjust the spool valve, loosen the valve-locking nut on the side. Removing the locking nut gives you access to the adjustment screw. Turn the screw clockwise to raise the pressure, and twist it counter-clockwise to lower the pressure.
Increasing hydraulic flow rate can be done by altering the valves and fittings, increasing the size of the channel, and using a higher pressure pump. Valves and fittings: -Valves can be adjusted to change the amount of water flowing through them. -Fitting sizes can also be changed to increase or decrease the flow rate.

Need the wire diagram to rewire my Ariens lawnmover to bypass the safety switch. It is Ariens GT-19 model # 931026 Serial # 001463.
Can you help? It is an old Ariens mower but still runs good but now I need to bypass the safety switch in order to run it any longer. The local Ariens dealer said I need to go through the internet and get the wire diagram as they cannot give it to me directly. They told me I needed the wire diagram and the part involved in bypassing the safety switch. Hope this is all the information you need to help me.

Thank you. Roger Fielitz

ANSWER : Here is owner manual: the switch is behind the ignition, sometimes at the N position of gearshift, just look for a switch with one wire coming in & one going out (usually the same color); disconnect the two wires & jumper them together to bypass the switch. Looks like yours has one under the seat.

We have a pop-up with the sink that folds down. We need to replace the sink drain from the sink to outside, but the only flex drain hoses that I can find have a hose only 26 inches long. I know that will not be long enough to go from the sink to the outside of the camper.

Do you know if any place I can go to get a sink drain system with a longer hose. The contraption (I don’t know what it is called) at the base of the sink drain has rusted off so that the swivel part of the drain system is gone. We currently have a garden hose connected to the pipe coming directly from the drain, but when we close the camper, it pops off.

Do you have any suggestions?

ANSWER : Hi mj2181,I would say your problem should be solved easily with a hose extension , if you can get the extension and then use it , it should be ok for you and there should be no need to get a sink drain system with a longer hose.An example of an extension hose can be found on this link :- this helps ,

Hello, i think i figured out what it was, after breaking down the valve again i was looking at the rubber that is around the valves and i was thinking at first this wasnt an extra part, but come to find out after many hours of researching online it is an peice that comes off but its just glued on, its a (Spider) gasket. So do u think if nothing is wrong with the valve itself that if the spider gasket is wearing away and starting to get britle that it will let the debris i vacuum up come back in the pool and let the backwash valve leak when its on the filter position? I cant thank u enough for helping me. You sure have lead me in the right direction and saved me alot of money. Otherwise i would of probably gave up and bought another one….thanks and let me know if u think that the buying a spider gasket will solve my problems
ANSWER : The spider gasket that you refer to is what seals the chambers from each other. Leaking here can have a large impact on how well the valve is able to do its job. But, I don’t remember seeing one in the parts diagram. If you are able to obtain one, then by all means, replace it if you can. As I said earlier, you are essentially rebuilding the valve assembly. If something looks worn, now is the time to repair / replace it during reassembly. I also have a suggestion for you as well. Take good pictures, document everything that you do when you disassemble and reassemble the valve. Then write up a tip (gotta become an expert) for others to read through and be able to service their own equipment. I was surprised to see that there were as many other questions asked about the same filter that you have. Highly recommend that you do this. As many times as you have taken this apart and put it back together, you are fast becoming an authority on it!Glad to see that you are sticking it through, and not throwing in the towel. After all is said and done, you will have a working knowledge of how your filter works, and be able to identify issues in the future before they become a problem. Congratulations!
