Tips for placing your tent

While you can put your tent near other buildings, consider keeping it away from the other buildings. If you space out your buildings, you`ll always have a safe space to run from dangerous bugs, like wasps and scorpions (though you can always cure the bug bites with medicine).

Spread the tent out over the tight line and pull the two bottom corners down towards the ground so that it creates a triangle. At this point you can use rocks, logs, stakes, your backpack, or other gear to weight down the corners/edges of the tent.

Tents may connect together using zippers. Tents may also be connected using binder clips. The use of a tarp or tarps helps protect against bugs entering the tent. Tarps also help prevent rain from leaking inside.

Though many campers will orient a tent with the smaller side facing the wind for reduced resistance, it`s more important to place the side that has the strongest pole structure facing the wind. If you`re camping in a hot climate, orient a door toward the wind for cooling.

How do you secure a tent at night? Tying a shoestring between your tent zippers from the inside is an easy way to secure your tent at night, while still making it easy to escape in an emergency.
A pop-up canopy (or portable gazebo or frame tent in some countries) is a shelter that collapses down to a size that is portable. Typically, canopies of this type come in sizes from five feet by five feet to ten feet by twenty feet. Larger or semi-permanent canopies are known as “marquees”.
Mesh Door – Many tents incorporate a mesh door which allows light and air to get inside. It also prevents insects from entering the tent. 2. Tub Floor – This waterproof material is fitted to the size and shape of your tent floor.
Yes it is possible to lock your tent from inside or outside by using small padlocks, which can go through the zip loops on the tent internally or externally. Some people like to do this before they go to sleep so they know their tent is safe from intruders.

While it`s not exactly an every-day occurrence, tents can and do get blown over or drenched in extreme weather. Wind and rain both have the potential to ruin the tent camping experience. A cabin, on the other hand, has a foundation, solid walls, a roof, and isn`t going anywhere.
