A lower pitch will give you a better hole shot. Most bass boats run a 25 or 26 pitch prop. Some that carry really heavy loads or extremely large boats might run a 24. Some faster boats run a 27.
An angler`s best bet is to look around 10 feet in depth for the giant bass, but this can vary. Generally, the shallow fish are the smaller males, and the fish at the most profound parts are too lethargic to chase, so the perfect targets are the fish at about 8-12 for depths.
Longer boats are better able to span waves meaning they can reach across from one wave to the next, providing a much smoother ride. With the right amount of power and speed, you can skip right over 3-4 foot waves in a larger boat and not feel a thing (especially in glass boats!).
For most boats, an engine`s most efficient running speed falls between 25-30mph. Diesel engines find their sweet spot somewhere beyond 1800rpm. Gasoline outboards usually find it between 3000-4000rpm.
The safest way to determine how much horsepower you need for your boat is to know the total weight of your boat. The rule of thumb is to have 25-40 pounds of weight per 1 horsepower. If your boat weight is 800 pounds you would need a 32-20 horsepower engine.

Need the wire diagram to rewire my Ariens lawnmover to bypass the safety switch. It is Ariens GT-19 model # 931026 Serial # 001463.
Can you help? It is an old Ariens mower but still runs good but now I need to bypass the safety switch in order to run it any longer. The local Ariens dealer said I need to go through the internet and get the wire diagram as they cannot give it to me directly. They told me I needed the wire diagram and the part involved in bypassing the safety switch. Hope this is all the information you need to help me.

ANSWER : Here is owner manual:http://apache.ariens.com/manuals/030305C.pdfusually the switch is behind the ignition, sometimes at the N position of gearshift, just look for a switch with one wire coming in & one going out (usually the same color); disconnect the two wires & jumper them together to bypass the switch. Looks like yours has one under the seat.

I have a mitchell riptide 80 spinning reel. I lost the screws and parts that hold the bail to the reel. I need a manual to show me the parts that I need to get. I also need the manual to show me exploded views so that I can clean and do maintainance on it.

2005 Mercury 50hp 2-stroke outboard motor very sluggish when accelerating, stalled twice when trying to exceed 50% throttle capacity. Last time I used my boat was about two months ago, so I don’t think bad fuel is the problem. I let my boat idle at the boat launch for probably 5 mins before taking off. I didn’t notice any weird sounds or any indication that my motor was running any different than normal. After only a couple of minutes of running my boat up river I gave more throttle(probably 75% power) when it started to bog down. I immediatly kicked it out of gear and checked to see if something was caught around my prop but there was nothing there. From then on everytime I put the motor in gear and gave it throttle it would barely respond and stalled twice. Any suggestions to what this might be? Thanks, Newt.
ANSWER : The carberator is gravity fed and there is propbably gunk in it, when you give it more throttle, it needs more gas but can’t get it. Then a build up of gas in the float bowl occurs and nothing works right. It has happened to me and its aggravating, do a complete rebuild on the carb or just replace it and you will be happier quicker.

Motor not pushing boat after two thousand rpm’s
ANSWER : The prop is cavitating. The outdrive is not trimed under enough or the prop is damaged (providing it is the correct prop.)
