The sight is powered by one included CR2032 battery, and a rheostat allows you to control the brightness based on your personal preference or light conditions.
Q: Will this fit on a picatinny rail? A: Comes with removable dual rails, one side will fit in normal 11 mm tip off mount and the o… A: Yes.
– Flip up lens covers. – Battery. – Manual. The innovative and improved Element 1×30 from Sightmark is a 2 MOA red dot sight, perfect for both-eyes-open shooting on rifles and shotguns. The Element features a practical clamp mount, reducing bulk and creating a sleek, streamlined design.
The true red dot sight uses either a LED emitter or is self-powered by fiber optic and/or tritium (no batteries or on/off switch needed) to project a reticle onto glass which is then reflected to your eye, hence the other common name “reflex sight”.
A: A typical red dot battery can last for around 50,000 hours. Some exceptional models can last longer without compromising on their performance though.
The Picatinny rail system is more heavy-duty and built to handle heavier mounts without a loss of performance. The M-LOK system from Magpul isn`t quite as hardy, but it is lighter and has more and more tactical hardware being built for it every day.
The difference between the two is quite simple. The number represents the cant (think tilt) of your scope base. With a 0 MOA base, there is no cant to the base and it will sit level to the action. A 20 MOA base has a slightly negative cant that starts higher in the rear and ends lower in the front of the base.
A red dot sight is a type of optic that is typically used at closer ranges, normally around 100 yards or less. They are extremely easy to use and can assist first-time shooters with more simplified aiming.
If you`re looking for a lightweight package that shoots quickly up close, go with a red dot. If you intend on making precise shots at targets in the distance, put a scope on your rifle. If you want a combination of both, use a 1 powered variable scope or get TWO rifles!
Red dot sights work very well at night, considering they were known as the reflector sight originally. One of their primary advantages is the fact that they have an illuminated point with a light-emitting diode, so they can work in all kinds of lighting.
More accurate

Most shooters find they can shoot more accurately with a red dot than with iron sights, particularly at distance and when speed is an issue. With the dot, you can easily “holdover” for longer shots, while still seeing the entire target in the window.

The simple LED technology used means red dot sights can last up to 50,000 hours on battery power, and you don`t have to worry about your optics failing mid-shot. Holographic sights, on the other hand, last up to a mere 500 hours in comparison.
Typically, modern alkaline batteries, and other primary batteries such as the 3.6–3.7 -volt lithium batteries, can be stored for up to 10 years with moderate capacity loss. As with all batteries, they should be kept away from extreme temperatures and should never be frozen.
It`s a common occurrence to forget to turn off the red dot or the illumination after use. To prevent this problem, manufacturers started to incorporate automatic turn-off. Some automatic turn-off functions are based on the time of inactivity. The illumination turns off after a few hours of inactivity.
On the one hand, if your sight is at an uncomfortable height, you may need an optic riser. If you suffer from muscle fatigue, especially in your eyes and neck, you can look into getting yourself an optic riser. Indeed, Low-mounted optics place excessive stress on your neck and eye muscles.
The Weaver mounting rails have slots that are . 180” wide and do not necessarily have a consistent spacing between the grooves. Picatinny slots are . 206” wide with a center-to-center groove width of .
In Conclusion. Between Weaver rails and Picatinny rails, Picatinny rails are, by far, the better choice. Although other attachment systems are available, depending on the manufacturer or the weapons platform of your choice, the Picatinny rail is the most widespread and the most well-known today.
M-LOK, for Modular Lock, is a firearm rail interface system developed and patented by Magpul Industries.
A 20MOA base is not always the best base to use, depending on the rifle and its purpose. In some cases, the scope being used when being paired with a flat shooting cartridge, cannot dial the added 20MOA of elevation out to keep the gun zeroed at 100 yards. The rifle must then be zeroed to 200 or 300 yards.
Big dots are perfect for speed competition, steel shooting and for those with astigmatism. The most common dot size ranges from 3 to 5 MOA. A 4 MOA dot is best for close ranges, while a 2 MOA dot is best for longer ranges.
1.93 inches: This mount height works great for night shooting with LPVO and red dot both.
Do you need suppressor sights with a red dot? If you`re running a suppressor (also called a silencer) or red dot sights, that suppressor height sights are a must for a more clear sight picture. Most suppressor height sights work great with a red-dot pistol.
Scopes are for long range. Red dots are for close range. If you use your Ruger 10/22 for close-range applications (home defense, plinking, varmint hunting), then you need a red dot. It`s cheaper, lighter and acquires targets faster.

ANSWER : Here is owner manual: the switch is behind the ignition, sometimes at the N position of gearshift, just look for a switch with one wire coming in & one going out (usually the same color); disconnect the two wires & jumper them together to bypass the switch. Looks like yours has one under the seat.
