Because zappers use UV light as the lure to zap insects, you must regularly replace the bulbs! Even if your zapper`s bulb is still giving off light that is visible to you, it might not be attracting insects as effectively because the UV light diminishes over time.
Bug zappers work by emitting a UV light that attracts bugs to the center of the device, where they`re electrocuted, usually between two metal grids. Because of the irresistible lure of their light, bug zappers are incredibly effective at killing bugs. The only problem: They aren`t killing the bugs that bother you.
20 watt UV light replacement bulb consists of 2 pack x 10 watt UV bulb for indoor insect killer. Bug zapper bulbs life is about 2500 hours.
Why Are Bug Zappers Potentially Bad for the Environment? As noted in the study, insect predators, parasitoids, aquatic insects, and more beneficial insects were killed by the bug zapper. The killing of these insects can lead to voids in the ecosystem, and in turn, the food chain.
Place the probes on two of the grid wires and check that the voltage falls within the typical range of 2,000 to 4,000 volts. If the voltage is outside of this range, it may indicate a problem with the bug zapper`s electrical components. The voltage should be in the range of 2,000 to 4,000 volts.
To test if the electric fly swatter is working, place a piece of paper or tissue on the electric mesh, then touch it with the electric fly swatter. If the electric fly swatter is working, it will produce a loud pop and a spark. This indicates that the electric mesh is generating enough voltage to kill insects.
A bug zapper uses a high-voltage alternating current to kill bugs. Most bugs and mosquitoes have a resistance of 0.70 – 0.75, whereas the voltage for the Zapper is between 500 to 1800 volts ac.
Bug zappers can work both day and night, but they are more effective at night. Keep in mind that using bug zappers indoors and outdoors require different approaches, especially in the daytime. If you discover that your bug zappers are not as effective as before, you might want to check them for dead bug parts.
First, bug zappers can not accommodate water while in operation. You can`t leave bug zappers in the rain, and it will spoil the system. The zapper might stop functioning as it should. The only case where you can leave your bug zapper in the rain is when you have it under shades that protect it from the rainwater.
Bug zappers primarily kill beneficial insects, not mosquitoes!
In terms of overall effectiveness for insect control, bug zappers are highly effective in diminishing pests and can kill as many as 10,000 bugs in just one night. However, they are virtually ineffective against mosquitoes and biting insects.
Like other light sources, mosquitoes aren`t attracted to ultraviolet light. They will try to use ultraviolet light to navigate. Most bug zappers using ultraviolet light are killing other flying insects, not mosquitoes. Traps utilizing carbon dioxide are more effective than bug lights.
Do I need to turn my bug zapper on and off each time I use it? The most efficient and effective way to run a bug zapper is to leave it on 24/7. By doing this, you help break down the insect breeding cycle. Alternatively, run your bug zapper from dusk to dawn.
Yes, it is completely safe to leave your bug zapper switched on overnight, be it indoors or outdoors.

I have a wildwood le 25bhbs and the only towing lights working are my signal lights. can’t get running lights or brake lights to work. I saw where it looked like the towing harness may have been pinched. So I repaired that, but, they still do not work. Any ideas? Is there a fuse somewhere I need to check? Do I need to hook the trailer up to my trailer hitch before they will work? Is there a wiring diagram or repair manual somewhere I can get? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
ANSWER : There should be an inline fuse, check that first.

Trying to install a new fluro light, pull out old light to find 3 reds and 3 blacks 1 copper earth. What do I do to connect it up the right way??? When I pulled the old Fluro light out the 3 Reds were joined together with a connector ,two blacks were joined to one end of light wire, the other to the other end of the light wire, earth wire to the light case, the third black wire was connected to the wire from the ballast? Does this all make sense
ANSWER : No, this does not make sense but I have seen strange wiring before. There is power going from the light someplace else. Just connect it back up exactly as the old light was connected. It worked before so it will work again. If it works it is wired correctly. Without being there to check which wire was the hot wire and which was neutral it is impossible for me to say what is what. Make sure you connect the ground wire to the light chassis.

Spa is a Bengal. Have noticed a symbol (can’t tell what it is) on the screen then most of screen goes blank with just the power light on. Is there a vacation mode or something like that?
Thanks for your help.
ANSWER : Spa’s are such that so many components can become faulty when left unattended to over a period of time. But most likely what your unit needs is just a regular service to clean up its systems and also ensure there are no leakages in the pipes. Bengal is a wonderful and durable product. The problem could range from low power supply to wires being eaten up by rats and other pests. Also it could be burnt out heaters thereby the inability to produce heat. The indicator on the screen could mean various things but the screen going blank usually would be caused by poor power supply. If you dont have the technical know how refer an expert to check it out and ensure the exact problem of the above mentioned is wrong with it before repairs can be carried out.Hope this solution has been helpful?

I have a York Stellar model mid efficiency furnace Model # P?UCD12N07601A, Serial # EXAM3600524 installed in 1992. The HSI was replaced approximately 3 months ago. Over the last two weeks the ventor motor comes on, the HSI lights but does not ignite the gas. The ventor motor runns continously and the HSI continues to turn off and on without gas ignition. Some times by turning the ventor motor off and on (by opening and closing the bottom furnace faces panel door) will give be ignition after the HSI goes through 1-4 cycles. If I can’t get it to work I call my furnace repair guy. The serviceman thought it was the pressure switch and ordered one. Just this last weekend I had no heat and another service guy came in replaced the HSI again and adjusted the pressure switch and said this fix should work. Less than a day later furnace still experiencing the same problem-Ventor motor comes on, HSI comes on but no gas ignition. ventor motor runs continuously and the temperature in the house drops! I’m frustrated and the servicemen don’t seem to know how to fix the problem for good.
ANSWER : Make sure the vent pipes that exhaust the fumes are not blocked in any way and also check the drain line to be sure it is not kinked from the vent motor to the trap. Take the hoses off the vent motor and the pressure switch and make sure all the hoses are clean and free from debris also check the trap on the drain hose and make sure it has water in it if it doesn’t this will creat a negative pressure in the vent motor housing not allowing the vent pressure switch to make.

Had entire spa light replaced 2 mos ago. Now color does not work. Light is “stuck” on white. Doesn’t seem that the color wheel is moving. Service that replaced light only gave me 30 day warranty on light. It was installed 12-13-2010. Any ideas on what to try?
ANSWER : You haven’t said what exact model you have so i can’t be sure but , in the models with rotating screens, the first part that fails is the coloured wheel – the heat deforms it , it bends out of shape and blocks the rotation. You will need to open the system and see if you can rotate the wheel by hand. If you can’t you need a new wheel. If the wheel can be moved by hand you will need to check if the motor gets powered when you try to change colours. If it gets powered but it doesn’t move then the motor is dead. If it doesn’t then the control board is faulty – replace the failed part.
