One such object is the Buffalo Bill Commemorative Rifle pictured below—the 100,000th one of the more than 117,000 made by Winchester to raise funds for the then-new Buffalo Bill Museum that opened in 1969 as an extension to the Whitney Western Art Museum.
What year is a Model 94 Winchester 30-30? If it says 30WCF on the barrel it was made before 1942 (WWII). If it days 30-30 on the barrel it was made after WWII. Winchester can tell you the production date if you provide them the serial number.
Manufactured to be instant collectibles, they are pleasing to the eye. The Buffalo Bill commemoratives were introduced in 1968 & just 112,923 were actually made.
There were only 132 One of One Thousand rifles produced in the Winchester 1873 Model, and a scant eight of the Model 1873 One of One Hundreds– only six of which are known today.
Over seven million Model 94s were produced and sold. The Model 94 was conceived in the drawings of the firearms genius we talk about here fairly often, John Moses Browning.
The venerable Winchester Model 94 lever-action rifle was discontinued, along with the Model 70 boltaction rifle and the Model 1300 pump-action shotgun. U.S. Repeating Arms and its Belgian parent company, Fabrique National, determined that production in the New Haven, Connecticut, plant was no longer feasible.
30-30 Winchester (officially named the . 30 Winchester Center Fire or . 30 WCF) cartridge was first marketed for the Winchester Model 1894 lever-action rifle in 1895.
History. Most individual manufacturers habitually put serial numbers on the weapons they produce. Such numbers can be used to ascertain the name of the manufacture, place and date of manufacture. At least for some manufacturers, a serial number can unlock myriad details about the weapon.
Originally named the . 30 Winchester Centerfire, the . 30-30 was among the first cartridges utilizing smokeless gunpowder. It was introduced by Winchester in 1895 in its Model 94 lever action rifle which was the product of famed gun designer John Browning.
It is currently sold only at the Grayridge gunsmith at the price of $25,000. The Golden Buffalo Rifle is able to deal more damage per shot compared to its normal counterpart.
A standard Winchester carbine is valued at a few hundred dollars at most, but these unique carbines that have a much-shorter than usual 15-inch barrel are worth a couple of thousand at least. For instance, this early 20th century model 1892 trapper recently sold for $7,475 at auction.
carbine pictured made in 1950 with about 85 percent of that nice post-War Winchester blue finish sold for $923 at Morphy`s in 2021, while the highly finished, factory engraved . 30-30 Win. rifle in 99.9 percent condition sold for $103,500 at a Rock Island Auction in 2021.
Three types of rifles in particular were used by professional bison hunters, namely the Sharps rifle, the Springfield Rifle and the Remington No. 1 rifle otherwise known simply as the Rolling block. The Sharps was the favorite among hunters because of its accuracy at long range.
It was a raging success from the beginning, and although it was rapidly outmoded, the Model 1873 was so popular that it remained in production for 52 years. In all, 720,610 of the rifles were made. The 73 was more than a rifle model. It became an American symbol.
The original Winchester company made 1,007,608 Model 1892 rifles.

I own a Winchester Model 94, American Bald Eagle, commemorative 375, Big bore XTR never been fired and in the original box, SN ABE 1866.
Question: I can not find any info on line or otherwise regarding this rifle. I believe it was manufactured in New Haven, Conn. by the Olin Corp/US repeating arms co. I’ve been all over trying to get some info….Apparently the 375 Winchester is a mystery. I even have a hard time finding ammo. And I’m curious about the value of this beautiful rifle. I’d be grateful for any info or direction that you could provide.
Many Thanks

ANSWER : Winchester, and most companies of its size have historians, museums, and just about everything they ever made. If they don’t know anything perhaps they will want to buy it for their collection 🙂

Winchester 94 serial numbers
ANSWER : It’s worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Which is another way of say, book value is great, but only if someone is willing to offer that. http://www.firearmspriceguide.com/guns/search/winchester/ gives a broad idea of the range of prices, but makes no specific mention of the Limited Edition walmart model.

I have a winchester 30-30 model 94 in very good condition. It is a top ejection lever action, very short and light weight rifle. The serial#is 4312365 and i have been told that proves that it was made in 1976.I hve also been told that the top ejection 94 was discontnued in 1962 or 64.How can i determine for sure the age and value of this rifle?I seem to be getting conflicting answers from everyone.I have a buyer who wants to pay me 200.00 for it.Is this a fair offer or not?
ANSWER : The only way to find out the real age and value is to take it to your local gun shop. They have books with all the serial # in it and can tell you the age. They will also be able to tell you the value depinding on the condition. You can also call winchester at 800.333.3288 or 801.876.2711 or look on the link below.

What is the age and value of my winchester 3030 model 94 serial number 3419978and 3647077.
ANSWER : Go to Winchester.com and check for a support tab. Most likely the support desk can look up the serial numbers to obtain the date of manufacture. However without seeing the rifles, on body can give you an accurate appraisal of them. You might also want to check for regulations that may prevent the shipping of these weapons to a duty station, and if you do ship them, make sure you do not disclose anywhere on the package that there are rifles contained inside. That may help the guns get there without being ” liberated” from your possession. Good luck!

My swimming pool. I have just had my fifth IC 40 Intellichlor chlorine generator installed in 4 years at a cost of over $900 today. Each one has worked for no more than 8 months. The first three were replaces under three year warranty, the fourth by a factory rep and I bought the fifth today. The first three all failed with Flow Chk PCB error message. The fourth just stopped working on Sunday, no power or lights. A local Pentair warranty person, whom I paid a Service Call, unplugged the unit, opened the small power center cover, showed me the green light indicating that there was power, plugged in a new IC 40 which worked immediately (as did the other four). I asked if I should replace the power center and he said that it’s basically just a transformer and is working fine. We do get occasional power blips that make the clocks on microwaves, etc blink, but I thought that the power center essentially isolates the cell from these. I do have a Florida Power and Light surge protector on the electrical box that brings power into the house. I have now talked to the pool builder, two Pentair warranty repairmen and one factory rep. I am at a loss. They all tell me they have no idea why these units fail after less than a year. This last IC 40 was installed 3/24/2010, version 2.0 and now failed in less than 5 months. Should I replace the power center that the IC 40 plugs into. Any other suggestions. I have been told that this is the best chlorinator. I don’t want to keep replacing units. By the way, each unit had been spotless inside. I keep the water chemicals and salt levels at ideal levels. The units have never worked long enough to get dirty inside. The power center is connected to an Intellitouch control system outside with an indoor control panel. Last time I called Pentair North Carolina and got some smart alec tech person that had no suggestions. Please Help if you can.
ANSWER : I’ve had the same experiance. On my fifth one as well. Fail every year. No idea why.

I have a Winchester Model 190 with serial number B1302781. This model and serial nubmer does not show up on the Windhester site. Can you tell me when this rifle was manufactured?
ANSWER : The model 290 came out first, in 1965. The 190 came out in 1967. The 290 was made until 1973 and production of the 190 ended in 1980. There were approx. 2,150,000 model 190/290 made through the years.Since yours was made before the middle of the production run, and before 1973, I would guess late 60’s to around 1970 or 1971.

Hope this helps.
