Crosman® Legacy 1000 . 177 Pellet/ BB Variable Pump Air Rifle with Scope. The Crosman® Legacy 1000 is our most advanced single-shot, variable pump air rifle bringing the next level of power and performance to the genre.
Did you know that altitude and pressure will affect your pump gun? Airgun manufacturers will typically impose a one to 10 time pumping maximum on their multi-pump airguns based on standard day conditions and maximum valve pressure. The pump limit is meant to preserve seals, reduce wear and tear and prevent valve lock.
HOW LONG DOES THE CO2 CARTRIDGE LAST? Once penetrated on the first trigger pull, the CO2 cartridge will last 24 hours or 21 shots.
Crosman`s first models were the traditional American multi-pump pneumatic design, where 3 to 10 pumps would pressurize a reservoir for each shot. Descendants of these original models are still made, in rifle, pistol and carbine form, and they remain quite popular.
There`s really only one king of the pump pneumatic air pistols, and that`s the Crosman 13xx variants. It comes in both . 177 and . 22 and is named the 1377 and 1322, respectively.
177 calibre ammunition has the most effective range of any air gun pellet size. A . 177 air rifle is likely to shoot around 60 to 80 yards. However, the range may be affected by various factors, such as the brand of pellet and your shooting stance.
Yes, it would at 60 yards. The weight of the pellet would determine how deep it goes. At 25 yards my air rifle with 7 grain pellets at 1000 FPS will penetrate both side of very hard non corrugated cardboard barrels.
Sure. Almost anything can be used as a self defense tool. Some people may be intimidated by the shape of a gun like object and flee. Some may not like the sting of being shot by a BB gun and flee.
The . 22 Caliber wins as a clean sweep for the best squirrel hunting caliber, even if the . 177 might be a little more accurate or quieter at times, the Gamo technology behind a . 22 caliber can be deadly, quiet, and extremely accurate!
The effective penetrating range of a BB gun with a muzzle velocity of 120 to 180 m/s (390 to 590 ft/s) is approximately 18 m (60 ft). A person wearing jeans at this distance would not sustain serious injury.
Most shooters find a limit of around 20-30 yards for hunting consistently, however, some accurately hunt beyond 50 yards with “springers”.
I`ve spoken to folks at Umarex and at Gletcher about this very thing and both companies recommend NOT leaving non-threaded, 12 gram Co2 cartridges in your gun for more than a day (actually Umarex suggested less!).
You may want to zero your rifle so it hits the center of a target at 100 yards if you know that your shots will be at that distance when hunting. Ammunition- at least 2 boxes of exactly the same ammunition you will be using when you hunt.
1 – Air Arms TX200

Our number one pick for . 177 airguns is the Air Arms TX200. This fixed barrel, underlever cocking airgun is extremely versatile and delivers hunting power with bench rest accuracy.

A: The H&N Field Target Trophy is widely regarded as one of the best all round . 177 pellets for target shooting. It`s made to extremely tight tolerances and has a domed head that reduces drag in flight, allowing it to maintain accuracy over long distances.
The Coleman Company, Inc. acquired Crosman, where they became increasingly well-known. Subsequently, Crosman`s principal manufacturing facilities were moved to the current location in East Bloomfield, New York (about 30 miles south of Rochester).
Plenty of Crosman Models to Choose From. Crosman has built their reputation upon uncompromising quality and safety. In doing so, they have diversified and now offer dozens of different CO2, pump, spring and Nitro Piston models. Every shooter has a different style.
50 caliber – this PCP is probably the best airgun for big game hunting. It is heavy-duty enough to hunt bears and bison when shooting up to 550-grain slug bullets, yet not too much to handle deer, hogs, or other similar big game species.
177-cal. pellets. Advertised maximum velocity of 700 FPS.
Muzzle Velocity For Best Accuracy

The results for both . 177 and . 22 calibers substantiate the belief – widely held among experienced airgunners – that the optimum Muzzle Velocity for accurate airgun shooting with pellets is in the 800 – 950 FPS range.

A powerful . 22 caliber air rifle such as a Benjamin Discovery or Marauder fires a 14.3 grain pellet with a muzzle velocity of approximately 900 ft/sec. The firearm generates a muzzle energy of approximately 130 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle whereas that of the air rifle is only about 26 ft lbs.
