I just bought the Edge 705 with heart rate. I have done everything to get the display of heart rate to come up on the screen but nothing is working. I’ve tried wetting the sensor on the strap, standing 10M away and walking back up to 3M and closer. I can see a little heart rate symbol on the screen but it doesn’t display the actual heart rate.

I hve a Forerunner 305 and the heart rate monitor quit working. I bought a new battery for the transmitter but the heart rate portion of the watch remains blank. The reat of the watch works fine. Can I do something with the watch to reset the heartrate portion or not? Please explain.WALT
ANSWER : Hello. I recommend that you change the battery. It takes a CR2032. Use a coin to twist the back cover counterclockwise until it is loose enough to remove. Also clean the sensors. And reapply moisture in the form of saliva, water or electrode gel.

If installing a new battery and taking these other steps does not fix the problem you will have to send the watch to Garmin for repair.
