Fly reels have two different types of drag systems – the disc-drag and the spring-and-pawl. Both are excellent drag systems, but the “spring and pawl” type is now rather difficult to find, as “disc-drag” fly reels have become increasingly popular.
There should be a line capacity table on the reel manufacturer`s website or in/on the reel box. The table will tell you how much backing a reel can hold with different weight lines and what kind to use (typically Dacron in the fresh and sometimes Gel-Spun for added capacity in the salt).
Depending on the type of spinning reel you have, changing from Left to Right Hand retrieve is fairly simple. Some reels have a direct drive, screw in handle type, but most have a simple screw in pin system that is easy to swap over.
Pole and Whip fishing This is the easiest type of fishing for beginners and requires the least amount of gear, so it`s a great place to start your angling adventures. It involves fishing with a pole or a smaller `whip`, which is a simple bit of kit that doesn`t require you to use a reel.

ANSWER : Try switching sides of the handle by holding the bell and reeling then screw it in on the other side of the real by just reeling in.
If that doesn’t work then take all the line out and reel in some new line the opposite way.
I have a mitchell riptide 80 spinning reel. I lost the screws and parts that hold the bail to the reel. I need a manual to show me the parts that I need to get. I also need the manual to show me exploded views so that I can clean and do maintainance on it.

Problem with anti-reverse
ANSWER : If it is a multiplier reel most of the lever tension springs are the same. they can be bought from QUENTIN MILLMAN in portsmouth. they have a mail order branch and can be located on line.i have tried making my own springs but the dog leg has to be at the right angle.best buy the right one for a few pounds. regards barry.
