How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

The bullet is seated into the cartridge or case. The cartridge is the long skinny part of the entire thing and holds the primer, powder and bullet at the top. Loading just a bullet into your gun is useless. Bullets will not do anything without the rest of the cartridge containing the powder and primer.
Misfire. This occurs when the trigger is pulled and the firearm does not fire. It is caused either by a weak firing pin or a defective primer that fails to ignite the powder charge. If you are using a blackpowder firearm, inspect the priming cap or charge.
A dud (also a misfire or failure to fire) occurs when the trigger is pulled but the primer or powder in the cartridge malfunctions, causing the firearm not to discharge. Dud rounds can still be dangerous and should be deactivated and disposed of properly.
A firearm is loaded if there is an unexpended cartridge or shell in the firing chamber or in either a magazine or clip attached to the firearm.
Blanks are shell casings loaded with gunpowder. They lack the deadly bullet point, which is usually replaced with cotton or paper wadding. When blanks are discharged, they create the sound of gunfire, and the gunpowder combusts, causing a muzzle flash.
Reloading is a very interesting and rewarding hobby in its own right. And despite the words of caution above, it is perfectly safe, as long as you do it correctly and wear the necessary safety gear. Being able to custom-make ammunition to get every last ounce of accuracy out of your gun is what drives most reloaders.
The bolt pushes the cartridge from the breech into the chamber. The impact of the bolt firing pin on the cartridge ignites the primer, which explodes the propellant, which drives the bullet down the barrel. The barrel and the bolt have a locking mechanism that fastens them together on impact.
In a structure fire, the heat produced during the burn activates and causes the bullets to explode; the larger the caliber of the bullet, the more explosive potential.
What Causes A Gun To Misfire? The most common reason a misfire occurs is because of an “insufficient indent”, a primer that was not struck with enough force. A primer may get hit once and not go off.
According to Weeks` primer data (99.9997 percent reliability), you might hit one every 300,000 rounds. That said, our experience at Black Hills does not indicate that high of a misfire rate.
Handloading, or reloading, is the practice of making firearm cartridges by assembling the individual components (case, primer, propellant, and projectile), rather than purchasing mass-assembled, factory-loaded ammunition.
Today`s firearms have magazines capable of holding up to 30 or more bullets, or more than one barrel, or can fire more than one bullet per pull of the trigger. Some guns have lights, lasers, rifle scopes, bipods, and other accessories to identify a target or aid in marksmanship.

A blank is a firearm cartridge that, when fired, does not shoot a projectile like a bullet or pellet, but generates a muzzle flash and an explosive sound (muzzle report) like a normal gunshot would.
Yes. However, if it is a semi-automatic weapon, a pistol or a rifle, it needs a blank adapter for it to properly function after the first shot.
A common reason cited for why people reload their own ammunition is it allows them to control the action of the ammunition. Reloading allows the user to tailor-fit each round to its specific purpose. The firing pin moves forward with great force, striking and igniting the primer in the cartridge base. The spark from the primer ignites the gunpowder, generating gas pressure. The pressure from the expanding gas forces the bullet forward and out of the barrel. The bullet`s speed and escaping gases produce a “bang.”
Gunshot fumes from firing small arms contain a complex mixture of gases and aerosols, consisting of both particulate matter (PM) and liquids. The fumes are produced from the ignition of the primer and the propellants, and from the friction between the bullet and the barrel of the gun.

I have a treadmill Nautilus 516, I mark an error e7 flashing. I already unplugged, lubricated, and clean the speed sensor with alcohol and a clean head cotton. When I jump in at the front it locked out like when you put it in position for move it. When I put start in 4 seconds get the error e7; and when the error still the jump in the front and locked if I put in the back of the walking part do not locked out but still get the e7.
ANSWER : Hi,It stands for a lost signal in the console wire harness. It could be one of the wires has been broken or there is a connection loose. unplug and replug all connections. Then check for continuity in all the wires in the harness. Try to enter the service mode, press Stop Belt, Faster, and Slower
simultaneously. P000 appears in the Select display, indicating that no
key is pressed. To exit the service mode, press and release the same three keys simultaneously or press Power twice to power up into normal mode. Check
the speed sensor to make sure it is within 3-4 inch from the front
roller (magnet). Then check the sensor wire harness to make sure it is

Spark plug wire boot grounding out on coil, 96 outback 2.5 automatic, just put new spark plug wires, new spark plugs, and new coil on. ran great for two weeks, now spark is jumping out of boot at coil on one wire, put old coil back on and still does it in the same spot. replaced wires again, and still does it in the same spot. seems to do it only under a load. Is my new spark plug on that cylinder bad? Does the coil need some insulation under it? It is the coil that sits right on top of the motor. Any ideas? thanks.
ANSWER : Sparks are high voltage, and will always follow the path of least resistance. If you can visibly see a spark (whether in a lighted area, or in the dark), that means either that a plug wire (or coil wire) is open (non conductive), or your have a carbon track on the surface where the spark can be seen, but most likely you have BOTH problems!
If you have an ohmmeter, check the resistance of each wire involved, particularly spark plug wires … which means you must be able to connect to both ends of each wire at the same, and hopefully, FLEX those wires, to be sure they don’t have a break inside that is intermittent (comes and goes)!

Mar 12, 2010 – Could it be the check valve? I took it off and the flap appears to be working correctly. This well has been here a long time. Never given me any problems. I do have galvenized couplers on the discharge and intake sides. Old. Could these be leaking even though they show no sign of water? The discharge is able to hold 30 pounds easily overnight. I do not hear any vacuum in the intake when I take it off. Could the pipe to the well have a leak? I know I would have to insert a sleeve bnut I do not want to go through the hassle if I do not have to. I had put on a brand new pump from the hardware store that did the same thing so I think that would elliminate the pump as being the problem.

It is not able to pull water from the well whcih has been here for years. i disconnected it for the winter and rehooked it up. The galvanized couplers on the discharge and pump side are old but do not appear to be leakeing as I taped them well. The check valve seems to be functioning well as I took it off and the flap works correctly. The well is not pulling watrer. there does not appear to be a vacuum on the check vale when I losen it. could the check valve be bad? I am aware I might have to resleeve the well, but do not want to hassle with this if I do not have to. I want to eliminate everything else first. i put another brand new pump on it to see if it was that. That partiuclar pump which was the same thng did not work either.

ANSWER : Your well has gone dry it seems. It has happened to my before. At first the new pump I purchased that did not pump I took back for exchange and still no water. I finally gave in and called the well experts and I was told the well was dried up

Saltwater filter system on an INTEX swimming pool.
After putting fresh well water in pool, (5,060 gallons) I put in 120 lbs. of swimming pool salt. I ran the filter for 24 hours then fired up the saltwater chlorinator. After an hour the water went from totally clear to clear but now quite green. Now what? There is still about 1 hour to go on the recommended 5 hour cycle. It’s not clearing up.

ANSWER : Are the require hours properly set as required.In some cases it takes much time in clearing/cleaning the dirt from water.
Set the operating hours using the up arrow button to increase the hours of operation and the down arrow button to decrease the hours of operation. Hours of operation are determined by the amount of water in gallons for the pool size.Re-lock the keypad by pressing and holding the down arrow button for 2 seconds until a long beep is heard, then pressing and holding the up arrow button for another 2 seconds until a second long beep is heard. The green LED light will light up within minutes indicating the system is operating.
It is possible to run the system for a longer period of time than is necessary. However, because chlorine dissipates over time (which is why pool owners must constantly go to the store, constantly purchase, and continually add standard chlorine to their pools), if you happen to run your Saltwater Pool System too long, you can simply begin running it for a shorter period the next day, and your pool will be fine. The best way to determine the optimal length of time to operate your system is to experiment with different operating lengths of time, and to test the amount of chlorine in your pool using the chlorine test strips provided by Intex. See Owner’s Manual for operating time table list. If you have one available.

The Intex Saltwater Pool Systems work very quickly, and will immediately begin eliminating bacteria and algae from pool water. Will the Saltwater Pool System work even if I use well water? What if I have hard water? Yes, the Saltwater Pool System will work in all water conditions. However, you may find it desirable to treat your water (just as you would if it was being used in your house), if it is hard or has high levels of calcium, etc. Calcium can form white scale on the titanium plates in the electrolytic cell, thus requiring more frequent cleaning. I have a Daisy 2003 35 shot repeater pellet gun. I do not know how to load the red magazine.
There is a black slide pin on the mag, and a place to, i think, load each pellet individually.
Does the slide pin have to be in a certain position to load the pellets?
Do I load each pellet individually?

ANSWER : The slide pin needs to be in the up position, and yes you have to load the magazine with the pellets one at a time.

I have the Intex Sand/Pump pool filter Model SF 20110. It’s been running real great for the last 4 months. However recently it has been tripping the internal overloads and I have found the pump motor to be very hot when I put my hand against it. I have tried several different solutions, such as a level ground platform that was clear of any obstructions, made sure that the motor vents under the motor was clear of anything that would prevent air flow. I used a non electrical type of lubricate on the impeller. When I would turn on the pump the rotor would not turn but only would hum very loudly and then slowly begin to turn. I also noticed that the motor’s rotor shaft would not turn to freely due the tightness around the rotor’s shaft. After using the lubricate the shaft would turn a little easier. I used an amp meter on the incoming voltage line and the motor would run at 4.5 amp. And yet it still overheated and tripped the motor overloads. I can only think that the motor is still not getting enough ventilation. I have check and cleared all the incoming lines and found nothing block the pumps input or output lines. Any suggestion?
ANSWER : I just looking into this issue my self. The pump cools itself by a internal fan, which is run by the motor. Well I took the housing cover off to find out all the fan blades have broken off and were setting in the base of the pump. Once you remove the fan blades from covering the air intake, it might be fine. I will find out my self once summer gets here.
