Simply apply the tent proofing product or waterproofing spray evenly to the tent fabric using a spray, brush or sponge. Take care to wipe off any surplus product with a damp cloth as you go along. Leave your tent to dry as per the instructions on the bottle.
The material widely used for the exterior cover of a dome tent is PVC-coated polyester mesh. PVC (polyvinyl chloride)—also known as vinyl—is a plastic substance that comes in a variety of forms, including rigid and flexible, transparent and opaque, glossy and matte.
Well, the outer wall of a tent protects it from the air, water, and other elements by using extra-durable material. On the other hand, the inner layer is more breathable, allows better ventilation inside the tent, and prevents the build-up of condensation.
One person can easily put up an instant tent depending on its size and design. If the tent is a 6- to 10-person tent, it can be harder to set up and install the rainfly. However, if the design of the tent is simple enough, one person can probably still manage it.
Placing a tarp under your tent extends the lifetime of your tent by protecting it from wear and tear caused by rugged terrain. Sharp rocks, sticks, or tree roots can tear or puncture the bottom of your tent. A tarp also insulates your tent, minimizes moisture, and makes it easier to clean your tent.
Do You Need to Waterproof a New Tent? If your tent seams are not sealed or the tent fabric has no coating or treatment, you`ll need to waterproof your tent right away. This is most common with cheap tents. However, most tents sold today are at least water-resistant.
STOP DIRT & SAND FROM TRACKING INTO YOUR TENT

Want to keep dirt, mud, sand, and debris out of your sleeping area? Set up a Mountain Mat at the tent entrance. Use this landing spot for shoes and gear that don`t need to be inside the tent.

Keep away from setting up where there is washout (leaves and the dirt pattern is a good solid indicator). The tent should be placed in a position that allows water to drain away from the tent, so that you don`t have a river running through it. Set up your tent away from where you are going to be eating.
It`s probably the seams!

The most common cause for leaks in tents is where water comes in through the seams. The seam is where one piece of tent material is stitched against another. Sometimes you can see a sewing defect. Sometimes it`s on a joint, and the wind has weakened the seam`s stitching.

As a rule of thumb if you`re using your tent on average for 2 or 3 weeks a year then proofing it every couple of years should make sure it maintains it`s waterproofness. If you`re willing to play it by ear, just wait until it starts to leak, then do it!
However, almost all tents can be grouped into 1 of 4 categories based on their shape. Here are the 4 different types of tents: A-Frame tents, Pyramid tents, Hoop tents, and Dome tents.
Pop up tents have spring loaded tent poles which come pre-attached to the body of the tent. The tent bag keeps these springs compressed and the tent folded, but when you take it out of the bag the springs force the tent poles to extend.
Dome tents

On the other hand, the dome construction makes for a more taut tent which is more stable in the wind without the canvas fluttering and beating. Dome tents often also have a good ceiling height and several entrances, making them suited for use as a base camp.

Generally, the service life of the aluminum alloy bracket of the hotel tent can be up to 20 years, and the PVC tarpaulin on the top and sidewalls can be up to 10 years.
Put a tarp or ground cloth under your tent.

Not only will this help protect your tent, it adds another layer between you and the wet ground. Just be sure the tarp is not bigger than the tent bottom. Any edge of the tarp sticking out can allow water to puddle around and under your tent.

A groundsheet is critical for staying dry. If you don`t use one, and it rains even a bit, you will most likely wake up wet and profoundly unhappy. However, a solid tent plus a groundsheet can keep you dry in light rains or even moderate drizzles.
A variety of dome tents are used. They are light-weight (3–8kg) and accommodate 2–4 people.
In most cases, a blown interior light fuse means that there`s some kind of short somewhere in the system. It may be a permanent fault, or it may be temporary, but the only way to know for sure is to replace the fuse and see what happens.
Check along the door for a dome light switch. If you find one, this means you have a button switch. Your door may not have a dome light switch. If you don`t see a switch, pull the door latch with a screwdriver to see if the latch turns it off.
Polycarbonate panels are probably the most durable cover you can have. You can choose the thickness you want and the size of the panels you need. If growing a year-round garden in the geodesic dome is your goal, this would be a great covering to choose.
While 2 man tents are designed to fit up to 2 people, they can get rather snug, especially when adding all your camping gear and luggage. These sized tents are better suited for solo campers to give you the comfort and space you need.

The instructions I got are not exactly for the tent in the bag, so I need to find out the specific instructions for my tent rther than the generic instructions it came with.
ANSWER : Search on the internet for the manufacturer’s name, and the tent model. Most have instruction sheets downloadable from their websites. If that doesn’t work, and they can’t help you by email, then try to find a scout troop or outdoors club in your area, who may be able to help you find instructions or even someone with a similar tent.

If you go to image 2 it shows it with out the fly. now if you got 2 sets of 4 poles, 2 long and 2 short, and one set is all aluminum, then I would go with the aluminum set.
