You can transform a portable basketball hoop into an inground system using your own equipment. Installing a hoop is as simple as placing a metal frame on the ground in an inground kit. Alternatively, your garage roof or roof can be used as a mounting location for the backboard and rim.
The recommended hole size is 16 inches in diameter and 48 inches deep. You will need eleven 80-lb bags of concrete for the installation. IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTION: Before you dig, call your local utilities to rule out the presence of buried cables including power, water, gas and phone lines.
In all, with our one hour redo, it took us four hours to assemble. So, hopefully, you`ll have less do-overs than us and finish in about three hours.
Lifetime portable basketball bases are designed to be filled with either sand or water, and each one has pros and cons. Sand is about 45% denser than water, which increases the system`s stability making it more difficult to tip the system. Sand makes it more difficult to move the system on a regular basis if needed.
Installing an in-ground hoop would require 10-14 60lb bags of concrete, but it is recommended that you buy an extra bag or two just in case you need them. Mixing the concrete can be a tricky procedure. You need to make sure that the right amount of dry concrete and water is used.
It is recommended that concrete be allowed to cure for a minimum of 28 days. However, depending on the desired use of the basketball hoop, the curing time may be extended to ensure that the concrete is fully cured and will not be damaged by weather or other elements.

My basketball hoop broke and I have a pole cemented in the ground. Can you buy just the hoop/backboard itself and attach to the pole or do I have to cut the pole and start over?
ANSWER : Sorry I know nothing about basketball but it seems a crying shame to cut down the pole even if you can’t find a replacement hoop and board.
I have faced many similar things and I find remembering the wise old saying “in order to get the right answer it is important to first ask the right question”…
I suggest you ask around those who should know such things – the coach at the local schools, local teams. If you don’t get satisfaction then why not ask your local repair shop or fabricator if they can make what you need at a reasonable cost.

We are assembling your Competition Series XL Power Lift basketball hoop, Model #71523. The manual does not include dimensions for the following parts:
Upper Strut Arm, #1018838, and
Rear Lifter Arm, #1018837.
We need to know which part is longer, as we can’t identify which arms are supposed to be the upper struts, and which ones are the rear lifters.
ANSWER : Hi,this is a great product you have purchased,but to be sincere with you you need a professional to help you with the installation,if i provide the information you requested,i can bet on it,you will come back requesting for another information on the installation. This is the same product we use in my house and that is the reason why i am talking from a bitter experience, I was instructed where i bought it that it requires professional installation, Other sport stores told me
that it would be simple to install, with very little effort, and I did
make the mistake of believing those sales people. It took us hours and
hours with the help of many people to finally get it right, since the
directions are not very accurate. We had to keep on taking steps
backwards and repeating and correcting. It was a nightmare. i should
have heeded the warning of the the sport shop who sold it, to get professional installation.
Unless you are “extremely” mechanical and have a second and third person
to help you, my solution is,please get someone experienced to assemble this item. Thanks and take care
that it would be simple to install, with very little effort, and I did
