The Model 94 was produced continuously by Winchester from 1894 through 1980 when the production of the gun was taken up by the U.S. Repeating Arms Company, which made the Model 94 until 2006. Reproductions of the rifle are now made in Japan and imported by Browning Arms Company.
What is the Winchester 30-30 3380660 model 94? It is a lever action center fire rifle- the most popular deer rifle in the US. First made in 1894, yours was made in late 1970.
History. Most individual manufacturers habitually put serial numbers on the weapons they produce. Such numbers can be used to ascertain the name of the manufacture, place and date of manufacture. At least for some manufacturers, a serial number can unlock myriad details about the weapon.
These Special Short Carbines, as the factory called them, are exceedingly rare, were never cataloged, and were ultimately discontinued in 1933. In 1924, the rifle was discontinued and the saddle ring was eliminated on the carbine in 1932, although it still could be special ordered up until 1942.
Checking the serial number against the Internet records from Winchester, your rifle was manufactured in 1960, so condition is going to mean a lot. I recommend you check into gunbroker dot com. On that site, they show the Model 94 Winchester listed for anywhere from $600-$900.
The venerable Winchester Model 94 lever-action rifle was discontinued, along with the Model 70 boltaction rifle and the Model 1300 pump-action shotgun. U.S. Repeating Arms and its Belgian parent company, Fabrique National, determined that production in the New Haven, Connecticut, plant was no longer feasible.
30-30 was among the first cartridges utilizing smokeless gunpowder. It was introduced by Winchester in 1895 in its Model 94 lever action rifle which was the product of famed gun designer John Browning. Shooting a 160-grain jacketed bullet at almost 2,000 feet per second, it was a speed demon at the time.
32 Winchester Special, a very sweet little cartridge. The Model 94 was produced continuously by Winchester from 1894 through 1980, when the production of the gun was taken up by the U. S. Repeating Arms Company which made the Model 94 until 2006.
The 1st three numbers of your serial number will always provide your manufacture date. The 1st number is the YEAR of manufacture; the 2nd & 3rd numbers indicate the MONTH of manufacture.
The serial number includes information related to the date and location of the weapon`s manufacturing. Additionally, if the weapon is stolen, it can help link the firearm to the original owner when the government places the serial number into a national database.
The Model 94 is one of the most versatile repeater designs ever for accommodating different calibers. Get yours in famous pistol calibers like 45 Colt, 44 Mag., 44-40, or 357 Mag. Or in the most famous of all deer calibers, 30-30 Winchester.
The AN-94 (Russian: 5,45-мм автомат Никонова обр. 1987 г. / АН-94 «Абака́н», GRAU designation 6P33) is a Russian assault rifle. The initials stand for Avtomat Nikonova model of 1994, after its chief designer Gennadiy Nikonov, who previously worked on the Nikonov machine gun.
30-30s will only hold five rounds (although some hold six, and older models hold more). Ammunition used in . 30-30s has a round or flat nose, thus allowing it to be loaded into the tubular magazine without the fear of an accidental discharge. The beauty of the .

Magazine/Reload. Reloading is another area where Winchester stands apart. The 94 comes with a full-length tubular magazine that holds 7 rounds. To load, all I had to do was feed the cartridges through the convenient right-side port.
The “safety” can be actuated with the hammer in the rebound or cocked position. The Model 1894 features a rebounding hammer designed to prevent the hammer from moving forward and striking the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled. After firing your rifle the hammer immediately moves to the rebound position.
A standard Winchester carbine is valued at a few hundred dollars at most, but these unique carbines that have a much-shorter than usual 15-inch barrel are worth a couple of thousand at least. For instance, this early 20th century model 1892 trapper recently sold for $7,475 at auction.
Winchester Model 70

The Model 70 is without a doubt one of the most famous bolt-action rifles in history having developed a loyal following among American sportsmen during the peak of the rifle`s production.

The 30-06 is certainly the more powerful cartridge than the . 30-30 and offers greater range and more efficiency. However, long-range hunting isn`t the same as long-range shooting. An animal isn`t a steel target; it`s a living, breathing thing that should be taken humanely.
30-30 have a maximum effective range of around 150-200 yards. When using a polymer tipped bullet and a scoped rifle (like a Marlin 336), it`s possible to extend that somewhat to around 250 yards or so.
30-30 Winchester Is Still One of the Best Deer Hunting Rifles (and Here`s Why) Over its more than 125-year lifetime, the lever-action . 30-30 rifle has arguably killed more whitetail deer than any other single cartridge.
Angle Eject (AE) was introduced in 1983. The main purpose of this feature is to make it much easier to install and use a scope mounted on the top of the Winchester Model 94 receiver without the ejected brass hitting the scope.
Best Answer. The engine will have a alphanumeric casting number on the passenger side (right side) of the block, under the heads. The first letter of the code identifies the decade (C=1960s, D=1970s, E=1980s), the second digit in the code identifies the specific year.
Repeater serial numbers contain sets of repeating digits, like this one – 75675675, which contains three repeating digits. However, two repeating digits are more rare and usually more valuable, these are called Super Repeaters. Keep an eye out for serial numbers with two repeating digits like this one – 75757575.
