The centrifugal brake works in principle like a centrifugal clutch. For bass fishing, a medium-heavy is one of the most versatile options you can choose. A standard medium also works well for a variety of fishing techniques and a medium-light spinning rod is an excellent option for lighter lures, while still having enough power to land bigger fish.
Most good anglers and pro shops will recommend setting your drag to about 20 to 30 percent of the pound test you are using. So if you`re using 10 pound test line, you will want your drag to start slipping with about 2 to 3 pounds of pressure.
According to traditional theory, drags should be set to between one quarter and one third of the line`s rated breaking strength.
For best results, the drag setting should be able at the point where the line holds a third to half of its weight before moving (e.g., a 20-pound line should not move until the hook holds seven to ten pounds).
Brake lever angle

One is that the brake levers should be angled to rest just under your extended index fingers while you are standing up in the pedals and your arms, with elbows out, are making an otherwise straight line from your shoulders to your grips.

To check if brakes are self-adjusting without removing the hub, remove the adjuster slot plugs on the backside of the brakes (Fig. 1A) and shine a flashlight in the holes. If the brakes are self-adjusting, the silver lever (Fig. 2A) that rotates the star lever will be visible.

Monofilament line causes the least backlash and is the easiest fishing line to untangle than a braided line or fluorocarbon line. A heavy lure works better for baitcasting when you`re just beginning.
Tension. The spool tension knob controls how easily your spool spins. Avoiding backlash largely depends on ensuring your spool and your line spin at the same rate, controlled via the spool tension knob. Backlash occurs when the spool spins faster than the line coming through the guide.
Centrifuge speed

Centrifuges may be classified based on maximum speeds, measured as revolutions per minute (RPM). Speeds range from 0-7,500 RPM for low-speed centrifuges, all the way to 20,000 RPM or higher.

General Guidelines a. The recommended centrifuge time is 15 minutes at approximately 3000-3500 rpms in a fixed angle centrifuge or 10 minutes at approximately 2700-3100 rpms in a swing bucket centrifuge.
Your drag should be set at 25 percent of the breaking strength (pound test) of the line you are using. You can check the breaking strength by tying the line to the scale hook, holding your rod at a 45-degree angle and pulling down on the scale.
Mono and fluoro lines become brittle over time and weaken when they`re exposed to saltwater and UV rays. I`d recommend changing it out at least once every 6 months to 1 year. And if you notice that it starts to coil, it`s time to go ahead and replace it. For braided line, there`s no reason to replace it within a year.
If you`re on the shorter side, a 6`6” rod to a 7` rod is probably ideal. For taller individuals, you can really leverage a 7`6” or 8` rod in your favor. There are some specialty rods that are 5` or 6`, but those probably won`t be what you`re choosing from for a general bass rod that you want to use 99% of the time.

I have a 1997 Coleman 107 Hot Tub. While filling the tub it over flowed and the circuit breaker popped. Over the years I’ve done this a couple of times. I remove the side, let things dry for a day or so and everything is fine. This time, I reset the breaker and the spa went on. The pumps work fine, and the control panel shows the temp and the indicator light shows the heater is on. However, work never heats up. The local spa repair folks are crooks and they know less than I do, and I know NOTHING. Nonetheless, I’m going to try and fix the problem myself. Now, I need to know the best way to determine if the problem is the circuit board or the heater itself. I also need to know where I can get a repair maual. I’m tired of paying Goober and Gomer hundreds of dollars.
