How to Identify and Resolve Common Issues ?

Insert four screws into the holes in the rim, making sure each hole in the rim is still aligned with each screw hole in the net assembly. Turn the rim upside down. Twist and insert the ends of the ball return into the slots in the rim. Pull on the ball return to be sure all six ends are fastened to the rim.
The recommended hole size is 16 inches in diameter and 48 inches deep. You will need eleven 80-lb bags of concrete for the installation. IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTION: Before you dig, call your local utilities to rule out the presence of buried cables including power, water, gas and phone lines.
It is recommended that concrete be allowed to cure for a minimum of 28 days. However, depending on the desired use of the basketball hoop, the curing time may be extended to ensure that the concrete is fully cured and will not be damaged by weather or other elements.
Typical basketball rims are manufactured using high tensile carbon steel. The basketball hoop or ring (the part the ball goes through) is made from 5/8″ diameter solid steel rod. This rod is formed into a ring that measures 18″ across the inside. This is known as “inside diameter” (I.D.).
Rim: The orange ring from which the net hangs. Can also be called the goal or hoop. Options include the competition breakaway steel rim, heavy duty or recreation flex goal, and the fixed rim. First Team also offers ultra heavy double rims for playgrounds where aggressive play is the norm.
Ways to secure the basketball goal include: filling the base with water, sand, base gel or using a weighted base anchor system. Adding water to the base is as simple as hooking a hose to the base hole. This is a cheaper and easier option than sand.
To move a basketball hoop, first disconnect it from the base. Next, use a dolly or hand truck to lift the pole and hoop up and over to the new location. Finally, reattach the hoop to the base and make any necessary adjustments.
You can fix a hole in a basketball by locating the hole and using a ball repair sealant kit. You`ll be inserting a needle and spraying the interior bladder of your ball, thereby plugging up the hole so no more air can escape.
How Thick Does Concrete Need to Be for a Basketball Court? All the court materials mentioned will require a concrete base level. You should expect to build an outdoor basketball court on a slab that`s no less than 4 inches thick.
In all, with our one hour redo, it took us four hours to assemble. So, hopefully, you`ll have less do-overs than us and finish in about three hours.
While concrete offers a satisfying basketball bounce, the surface has very little give and can be harsh on players` legs and ankles. Concrete surfaces also pose an increased risk for concussion. Asphalt can tear up basketball shoes, skin and the basketball itself.
Acrylic is another clear option for basketball backboards. This material is more commonly known by the brand name Plexiglass. Acrylic is essentially a clear plastic material. Unlike glass, acrylic backboards are much more forgiving when it comes to vandalism such as rock throwing, etc.
Croquet (UK: /ˈkroʊkeɪ, -ki/ or US: /kroʊˈkeɪ/) is a sport that involves hitting wooden or plastic balls with a mallet through hoops (often called “wickets” in the United States) embedded in a grass playing court.
Basket. A hoop or basket with net around its circumference and of 18 inch diameter is firmly hung horizontally from a rectangular backboard of 3.5 feet height and 6 feet width on either sides of the court.
WATER. Adding water to the base is as simple as hooking a hose to the base hole. This is a cheaper and easier option than sand. If you plan on moving the hoop around a lot, water is a good choice since you can easily empty it from the base.
A Tuned Mass Damper is a device that reduces the amplitude of vibration by absorbing the kinetic energy on the system. STBLZR Technology uses a Tuned Mass Damper to absorb the vibrations a dunk or hard shot would cause, so less energy is exerted on the goal itself.
PROBASE replaces the plastic base on all types of portable basketball hoops. It is compatible with all poles on the market, regardless of their shape or size. Once you remove the base, insert the pole directly in PROBASE.
Have one person climb the ladder and place one end on the tape measure at the front tip of the rim so it is even with the TOP side of the rim. Drop the tape measure straight down to the playing surface to check the distance. The tape measure should read 10 feet for regulation basketball, typically ages 11 and older.
The first hoop consisted of a peach crate attached to a ten-foot-high railing and players aimed a ball into it.
In the National Basketball Association (NBA), a championship ring is awarded to members of the team that win the annual NBA Finals. Rings are presented to the team`s players, coaches, and members of the executive-front office.
To fill your base with sand, the hoop must be leaned forward and resting on the rim. One adult will hold the base steady, while the other fills the base. Take the funnel and put it into the fill hole. Fill the funnel with sand so it falls into the base.
Some alloy wheels are more ornate than others, and split rim wheels are a great example of how you can get creative and really add a personal aesthetic touch to your alloys.
Apply Aquaseal SR to the crack or hole on your rubber boot. Make sure that the crack/hole is completely covered by the adhesive and covers 0.5” beyond the crack (1” for a hole) to prevent it from growing. Allow the boot to dry on a flat surface for 30 minutes.
Goalrilla recommends purchasing 12-13 bags of Quikrete concrete mix. This concrete meets the ASTM C387 Standard Specifications for concrete. While directions state you only need 11 bags, it`s not a bad idea to have an extra bag or two on hand in the event the installation gets a little messy.

My basketball hoop broke and I have a pole cemented in the ground. Can you buy just the hoop/backboard itself and attach to the pole or do I have to cut the pole and start over?
ANSWER : Sorry I know nothing about basketball but it seems a crying shame to cut down the pole even if you can’t find a replacement hoop and board.

I have faced many similar things and I find remembering the wise old saying “in order to get the right answer it is important to first ask the right question”…

I suggest you ask around those who should know such things – the coach at the local schools, local teams. If you don’t get satisfaction then why not ask your local repair shop or fabricator if they can make what you need at a reasonable cost.

Need the wire diagram to rewire my Ariens lawnmover to bypass the safety switch. It is Ariens GT-19 model # 931026 Serial # 001463.
Can you help? It is an old Ariens mower but still runs good but now I need to bypass the safety switch in order to run it any longer. The local Ariens dealer said I need to go through the internet and get the wire diagram as they cannot give it to me directly. They told me I needed the wire diagram and the part involved in bypassing the safety switch. Hope this is all the information you need to help me.

Thank you. Roger Fielitz

ANSWER : Here is owner manual: the switch is behind the ignition, sometimes at the N position of gearshift, just look for a switch with one wire coming in & one going out (usually the same color); disconnect the two wires & jumper them together to bypass the switch. Looks like yours has one under the seat.

I have an old huffy sports basketball hoop and I need assembly instructions.
ANSWER : Hello,Follow the below assemble instruction as requested for your huffy sports basketball hoop;Insert the mounting screws through the mounting holes of the backboard,
then lay the backboard face down. Lay the mounting brackets on top of
the backboard so the mounting screws of the backboard go through the
mounting holes of the brackets. Tighten the screws with a wrench.Insert the adjustment hardware between the brackets and insert the
screws connecting to the brackets to the adjustment hardware, then add a
nut to the screw and tighten with a wrench. These screws will be
inserted horizontally through the brackets into the adjustment hardware.
The adjustment hardware allows you to adjust the height of your
basketball hoop.
Line up the holes of the rim to the holes of the backboard and install
the rim screws through the rim into the backboard and secure them with a
nut. Tighten the nut with a wrench. Thread the nut through the wire
holes of the rim.
Assemble the pole. Dig a hole with a shovel where you want to install
the basketball hoop. For the exact size of the hole, you will need to
consult the directions on your Huffy basketball hoop. To achieve the
regulation height of 10 feet, this step strongly depends on the size of
the particular basketball pole and a specific measuring depth. Measure
the hole with a tape measure for accuracy. Mix a bag of cement in a
wheelbarrow with water. Consult the directions on the cement bag for
exact mixing instructions.
Place the pole in the hole and shovel in the cement. Allow the cement to dry.
Use a ladder to reach up and connect the mounting arms to the mounting
brackets and then to the top piece of the basketball pole. Each of
mounting arms has a hole at the end that you need to line up to the
mounting bracket and secure with a screw, add a nut and tighten with a
Line up the holes at the end of the two top arms to the top holes of the
top of the basketball pole. Insert the long screw through the holes of
the arms and pole, secure it with a nut and tighten it with a wrench.
Install the bottom arms to the lower holes of the basketball pole.
I hope the above helps…..Good luck.
