These Daiwa Saltiga reels all have serial numbers and can be easily identified. Please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Police on 131 444 if you`ve been offered a new reel at a price that makes you think twice. Brenden Wellington and 50 others like this.
Use a toothbrush or small paintbrush to gently scrub and rinse each component of your reel. Don`t submerge the reel itself, but rather rinse with a cloth or by cupping water onto it, so water doesn`t get into the gearing systems and cause damage.
Fixed spool reels: This type of reel is easy to maintain. After a fishing session the reel should be lightly rinsed with fresh water but make sure the drag is fully tightened to stop water from getting into the inner workings of the reel. Alternatively, the reel can be wiped down using a wet sponge or damp soft cloth.
Daiwa`s has grown from small beginnings in Japan during the 1950`s as a reel maker, into a global fishing tackle brand, serving anglers of all disciplines around the world. A true manufacturer, they have production points in Japan, UK and throughout the Far East.

Shimano reels generally edge out Daiwa reels in terms of both functionality, quality, and overall brand presence. The key for many, including myself, is durability and smoothness. Shimano`s reels are well-known to last a very long time.
Line choice for spinning gear

Of the two, braided line is superior on a spinning reel. It is small in diameter, casts far, has no stretch, is incredibly strong, is extremely durable, and, most importantly, has virtually no line memory. All of these attributes make braided line a dream come true for spinning gear.

The general rule for most reel manufactures is 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch from the edge of the spool. You want to put enough line on the reel so that it casts well, but you still want to be able to see about 1/16 or a little more of an inch of the spool when it`s fool.
To begin with it`s important to fill your reels full. Casting reels should be between an eighth of an inch from the top and all the way to the top. If you get too much line on them, you`ll get a weird sound when you cast. Spinning reels should be all the way full, right to the top.
Never immerse the reel in water or wash it under high pressure as this can force water into the gearing and drag systems and cause damage. Rinse the reel off gently with fresh water and wipe dry with a clean cloth. It is a good idea to wipe the line clean as well.
You can clean a reel with a degreaser like WD-40, but it leaves a film when it dries that needs to be washed off with soapy water.
Cleaning the Reel

After every fishing trip, basic maintenance requirements include cleaning the outside of the real with a damp microfiber cloth and perhaps adding a light layer of protectant and lubrication. WD-40 Multi-Use Product works well to provide routine care with a trusted and easily available product.

Globeride`s fishing products, sold under the Daiwa brand, account for the majority of its sales, including rods, reels, lines and fishing-related apparels (such as polarized sunglasses). The company also offers licensed Prince brand tennis gear, G-III brand golf gear, Bottecchia bicycles and other outdoor products.
Our service technicians across the globe use our SLPW 104 general-purpose grease.
Most manufacturers recommend that you re-lubricate your reel on at least a monthly basis – more often with heavy use. At the very least, lubricate everything once during each season you`ll be fishing.
Reels should be serviced once every twelve months or so depending on use. It is possible to service reels yourself however if you are not confident in doing so, it`s best to take them to a professional to do the job.

Need the wire diagram to rewire my Ariens lawnmover to bypass the safety switch. It is Ariens GT-19 model # 931026 Serial # 001463.
Can you help? It is an old Ariens mower but still runs good but now I need to bypass the safety switch in order to run it any longer. The local Ariens dealer said I need to go through the internet and get the wire diagram as they cannot give it to me directly. They told me I needed the wire diagram and the part involved in bypassing the safety switch. Hope this is all the information you need to help me.

Thank you. Roger Fielitz

ANSWER : Here is owner manual:http://apache.ariens.com/manuals/030305C.pdfusually the switch is behind the ignition, sometimes at the N position of gearshift, just look for a switch with one wire coming in & one going out (usually the same color); disconnect the two wires & jumper them together to bypass the switch. Looks like yours has one under the seat.
