Connecting two tents is possible using tarps to create a walkway or hallway of varying sizes between the two. Sturdy cords and durable stakes are the accessories needed when creating hallways. Rainflies are also usable to prevent rain from dripping inside the tent.
Our journey into the outdoors began with products ranging from rugged canvas wagon covers and horse blankets to custom camp tents and store-front awnings – all crafted in our Binghamton, NY workshop. Quality and durability has always been our trademark.
Eureka is a highly respected company that makes some excellent tents for backpacking, car camping, and more. Since Eureka offers so many tent options, we`re devoting this entire article to the best Eureka tents. Here`s what you need to know. If you`re in a rush, the best Eureka tent is the Eureka Copper Canyon LX Tent.
Clean the tent by setting it up and wiping it down with a mild soap (liquid hand soap) and lukewarm water solution. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Never use detergent, washing machines or dryers because they can damage the tent`s protective coating and seams.
Canvas tents Last For A Long Time
Canvas tents can last a very long time and is made from thick, durable cotton that is heavy but ideal for car camping in winter camping due to its insulation properties. It`s also very UV resistant compared to most manufactured materials.
Though many campers will orient a tent with the smaller side facing the wind for reduced resistance, it`s more important to place the side that has the strongest pole structure facing the wind. If you`re camping in a hot climate, orient a door toward the wind for cooling.
The parts of a tent include the tent body, vents, tent poles, a rainfly, vestibules, bug netting/mesh, groundsheets, tent pegs (stakes), guy lines, tie out points, storage pockets (gear lofts), tent footprints, etc. Each part plays an equally important part in the construction of your tent.
Lightweight cotton cloth tents accounted for 90% of the company`s sales, which were strongly supported by news of Eureka`s role in the first all-American Mount Everest expedition and the development of the first free-standing, quick-to-set-up tent, the Draw-Tite.
Most tents on the market today are made of polyester. This man-made fabric comes in many weights and with a variety of coatings, many of which are given brand names by their respective manufacturers.
THE FIRST TENT
However, we do have archaeological evidence of some early examples of sophisticated tents. Scientists recently found tent ruins in Russia from about 40,000 B.C., easily the oldest tent ever verified by carbon dating.

I have the Intex Sand/Pump pool filter Model SF 20110. It’s been running real great for the last 4 months. However recently it has been tripping the internal overloads and I have found the pump motor to be very hot when I put my hand against it. I have tried several different solutions, such as a level ground platform that was clear of any obstructions, made sure that the motor vents under the motor was clear of anything that would prevent air flow. I used a non electrical type of lubricate on the impeller. When I would turn on the pump the rotor would not turn but only would hum very loudly and then slowly begin to turn. I also noticed that the motor’s rotor shaft would not turn to freely due the tightness around the rotor’s shaft. After using the lubricate the shaft would turn a little easier. I used an amp meter on the incoming voltage line and the motor would run at 4.5 amp. And yet it still overheated and tripped the motor overloads. I can only think that the motor is still not getting enough ventilation. I have check and cleared all the incoming lines and found nothing block the pumps input or output lines. Any suggestion?
ANSWER : I just looking into this issue my self. The pump cools itself by a internal fan, which is run by the motor. Well I took the housing cover off to find out all the fan blades have broken off and were setting in the base of the pump. Once you remove the fan blades from covering the air intake, it might be fine. I will find out my self once summer gets here.
Bike pedal is striped , get a new one or buy new bike?
ANSWER : It depends on the bike. if it’s a “cheap-o” bike;
if it’s one for little kids that costs under $50 – $70 or so then yeah, just get a new one.
if it’s a nice bike that cost you a bit more, i’d get it repaired at a bike shop or a sporting goods store.
Hope this helps!
Tent I bought a tent the name on the outside says South Mountain. Not sure how to put up. It has two long rods & two short ones it looks like there are two rain gaurds also. There are no instrutions that came with this tent. Are there any pics that that show how to put up. I think the tent is around five years old.
ANSWER : It has to be similar to this (see link below). Most tents assemble in similar ways. Insert rods through the sleeves. Hook one side of the rod to one corner, arch the rods and hook the other side of the rod to the opposite corner. Repeat for the other rod.
