You cannot increase your bench press if you do not increase the amount of weights. A simple way to do this is to incorporate progressive overload into your bench routine by simply adding 2.5 to 5 additional lbs to your bench press each time you step in the gym.
An Olympic weight bench is an essential piece of equipment for any home gym. It provides a tremendous amount of versatility by giving you the ability to perform a wide range of exercises, including chest presses, incline and decline presses, shoulder presses, dumbbell rows and more.
For example, the average man, in ordinary circumstances, should be able to bench press 90% of his body weight. If you`re relatively fit and already going to the gym, then 1 x your bodyweight should be a good standard.

In general, a beginner must take his bench press to a level from where he can lift 0.80-0.90 times of his body weight (in lbs.) for 1-3 reps. This might not look like a lot but believe us if you are capable of lifting that amount of weight, you are stronger than 90% of the population.
How to Bench Press Two Plates (225 lb): A Training Guide. Being able to lift “two plates” in the bench press is one of the most common strength training goals for men. It refers to using two 45 lb (or 20 kg) plates per side, including the 45 lb barbell, which adds up to 225 lb, or 100 kg.
The average bench for male 14 year olds is 1.0 times bodyweight. The average bench strength of 14 year old females is 0.7 times bodyweight.
Good olympic bars will typically carry higher weight ratings and can handle much higher weight than standard bars, that are made from a cheaper steel and often carry only entry level weight ratings of 100 – 150kg. Choose Olympic if you want to lift heavy.
Olympic bars are twice as thick as standard ones, which means that it takes a lot more weight for them to start to bend. Whilst any high quality bar will return to straight once the weight has been removed, a bending bar can create unwanted motion and make heavier lifts more difficult.
For new gym goers or those who haven`t been for a while, 10kg dumbbells (22lbs) is a sufficient weight to notice some difference in your appearance initially, but over time, you will need to increase the weight to keep on the muscle-gaining path.
The average Incline Dumbbell Bench Press weight for a female lifter is 20 kg (1RM). This makes you Intermediate on Strength Level and is a very impressive lift.
The Smith Machine can be of great use for a move like the bench press because it helps eliminate the need for a spotter, helps you focus on your chest over the other stabilizing muscles, and provides similar benefits to that of a conventional press.
Standard Barbell

Your standard straight barbell weighs 45 pounds, is about 7 feet long, and can be used for most lifts, including squats, deadlifts, bent-over rows, overhead presses, and even biceps curls, says Wickham.

The bench press average for a male 20-year-old is 1.4 times body weight. The bench press average for a female 20-year-old is 0.9 times body weight. Depending on the weight class, bench presses will range from 78kg (172lbs) to 159kg (350lbs) for men and 45kg (99lbs) to 74kg (163lbs) for women.
The average Bench Press weight for a male lifter is 98 kg (1RM). This makes you Intermediate on Strength Level and is a very impressive lift. What is a good Bench Press? Male beginners should aim to lift 47 kg (1RM) which is still impressive compared to the general population.
That said, a bench seat designed for two people typically has a width of 42- 52 inches; a bench seat for three people is approximately 53-80 inches wide, and bench seats above 80 inches wide can accommodate at least four people.
A 225 pound bench press is considered impressive even among the average weightlifting population, and as such the average sedentary male is unlikely to even come close to being able to lift such an amount.
20kg dumbbells are perfect for working muscle groups to build strength, definition and size. Dumbbells are excellent to use on your arms and upper body. They can be added to any exercise to strengthen muscles or increase the difficulty of the movement.
Despite 20kg being widely used, weightlifting bars can be weighted at three different weights for Olympic competition: 10kg, 15kg and 20kg. Some companies cater to all three, but not all do.
Many exercises can be done using the barbell, such as bicep curl, bench press, Olympic weightlifting, overhead press, deadlift, and squat. Olympic barbells are usually an estimated weight of 20 kilograms (44 lb).
Mastering the bench press is great for beginners because it translates over to other movements and equipment, such as an incline bench, push-up and press machine. The first thing to focus on is your set-up, because it`s critical to your safety and effiency.
The ideal bench press grip width is one that facilitates perfectly vertical forearms when the bar touches the chest. How wide the grip should be is dependent on lifter anthropometry. A thumb`s width off the edge of the knurl is a good place to start for grip width.
The historical roots of the term come from judges formerly having sat on long seats or benches (freestanding or against a wall) when presiding over a court. The bench is usually an elevated desk area that allows a judge to view, and to be seen by, the entire courtroom.

ANSWER : Wow, thats a monster tent. I’ll get you most of the way there, but I may miss a thing or twoLay it down, stretch it out and peg it. That will save you a ton of time.Next, find the four longest poles. These are the supports. Two on each side of the door, crossing diagonally to the rear. Put one end of the poles in the holes and bend until you can get the other end in. These poles should slide through sleeves in the tent. Once these are up, the rest are “extras.” The tent has hooks to hold the poles to the tent. You have two poles of equal lengths for the side windows. Again, route them thru a sleeve, bending them into the holes on either side of the windows. I can’t tell, but it looks like you have a pole system for the front door too. Somehow these poles go next to the main support poles and meet up under the rain cover.Next, lay the rain cover on top of the tent. It should connect by bungies to the bottom of the pole support holes. There might be a pole or two under the rain cover, but above the tent for support. If so. look for a small pouch that a pole could slide into on the bottom side of the rain cover. You’ll run the pole from the pouch to another pouch (all under the rain cover).Don’t worry about strings or extra poles. These are for high wind. Pegging the tent down is good enough.Good luck

I just bought a brand nbew ww54 weight watchers scale but not matter what I do it’s not giving me the right weight (65 to 70lbs, I’m 180) and always reads ERROR for the body analysis measurements???I followed the instructions and even had someone else follow the same instructions and got the same. I put a new battery in, no change! Used a level to make sure the floor was level, no change! My feel were completely on electroydes no change! Most I’ve ever spent on a scale recommended by weight watchers and I’m so dissapointed.

Pulley system “off track” inside main frame of 2005 boflex revolution
ANSWER : I had same problem. I fixed it by taking plastic sides off using a long phillips head screwdriver. Jay, you don’t have to take the sides off to fix your problem. The sides come off only to untangle and rewind cables on pulleys. Pull the cables all the way out. Have a helper pull out and keep holding out the tension knob This is shown at the bottom of page nine in the manual. With someone holding the tension knob out turn the large pully located beneith the tension knob CLOCKWISE! I screwed mine up by turning it counter-clockwise. This winds the handle to the top and if you start with all the cable pulled off the pully, the cable should then wind itself nicely back onto the pully. Once the handle is all the way up, with the round ball on the cable jammed up against the pully, then and only then let go of the tension knob and let it fall back into place. If the handle falls down a few inches repeat this proceedure but push lower pully a bit harder and try to turn tension knob, while it is pulled out, in the opposite direction and it will then click into place one notch tighter and should hold the black ball on the cable firmly against the pulley.
